The Ashimo Flatlogic 5314 is a robot vacuum cleaner that cleans hard floors and carpets, and can also be used for wet mopping. It features a dual side brush system and a modern vSLAM navigation system for improved spatial orientation. The robot is manufactured in Japan, as indicated on the official dealer website. However, it's worth noting that, like all other robots, it is assembled in China. In this article, we'll explore the specifications and features of this model, providing a review of the Ashimo Flatlogic 5314.

Design

The Ashimo Flatlogic 5314 robot vacuum cleaner has an attractive design that will complement any interior. Its slim and compact design allows it to reach hard-to-reach areas, such as under furniture and corners, where it can collect dust and dirt. Touch-sensitive control buttons are located on the top of the unit, as are similar buttons on the remote control.

Wiping the floor

The Ashimo 5314 robot vacuum cleaner easily navigates obstacles, climbing small thresholds and even carpets. Thanks to the coordinated operation of its optical sensors, the robot detects elevation changes and never falls down steps, and when approaching interior items, it automatically changes direction to avoid collisions. The cleaning area can be limited using a special device included in the package—a virtual wall.

The Ashimo Flatlogic 5314 is equipped with navigation. It can navigate its way around a room and create a map of the room, memorizing the location of objects within it. According to the manufacturer, advanced motion algorithms help the robot vacuum cover the entire room, leaving no uncleaned areas and delivering high-quality cleaning.

The robot not only collects dust and dirt from the floor surface, but also kills bacteria with a UV lamp and disinfects the surrounding air, thanks to a fine filter that captures even the smallest dust particles. The device's timer allows you to schedule cleaning based on days of the week and start times.

Remote control makes the robot more convenient and comfortable to use. Once the job is complete or when the battery level drops to a critical level, the robotic assistant automatically returns to the base to recharge.

Advantages and disadvantages

Ashimo Flatlogic 5314 Robot Vacuum Cleaner Advantages:

  1. Modern appearance, compact dimensions.
  2. Wet floor mopping function.
  3. Navigation and well-developed movement algorithms are present.
  4. Possibility of working according to a schedule.
  5. Low noise level.

Among the disadvantages, the following can be noted separately:

  1. The wet cleaning function is not quite perfect.
  2. The price is around $200. Considering this robot vacuum cleaner, like its manufacturer, is little known, it's better to choose a robot from a more reputable brand. Its specifications and features don't make it particularly competitive. All the parameters are standard, nothing unique.
  3. A huge number of dubious positive reviews. It seems like a clever advertising campaign was launched to promote the robot vacuum. This makes it difficult to adequately assess how well it actually works. This clearly calls into question the integrity of the entire brand.

In conclusion, I'd like to point out that, given its high price and lack of popularity, it's best to avoid this robot vacuum. Firstly, there are no service centers that can repair it. Secondly, as mentioned above, it's overhyped, despite its rather lackluster features. And thirdly, for $200 you can find a good robot vacuum from iRobot or iClebo — market leaders.

I was taken in by the manager's sing-song voice, ordered, paid, and received it. It's been working for about a year. It works. It cleans. It collects dust and debris. It works on a schedule, while my wife and I are at work: one day it cleans one half of the apartment, the next day it cleans the other (the apartment is 80 square meters in total). The floor has really gotten cleaner. The wet one is crap, pointless. But the dry one is effective. It doesn't like thick carpets; I have to roll it up. It broke down once: the transistor failed, causing the side brushes to switch on. We had it replaced at a regular repair shop, and everything works. Overall, despite all the signs of a scam, it's a good product. I compared it with the RObot. The Ashimo is easier to unload, and it cleans just as well. Miracles!

There's no vSlam about it, don't fall for it. It's a Chinese QQ6 vacuum cleaner, which costs 9,000-12,000 rubles on Aliexpress.
