Floor cleaning
The robot vacuum cleaner can operate on a schedule. However, the cleaning plan is only saved for 24 hours. The user can set the time and day of cleaning, programming it for the following day, so when they return from work, the apartment will already be cleaned. During operation, the Philips FC8710/01 uses its brushes to collect debris and dust and transports it to the vacuum system, which sucks up all the debris and deposits it in the dust bin. The robot is controlled using the remote control or buttons on the control panel.
Cleaning under furniture
The Philips FC8710 has four cleaning modes. It can move in a straight line, in any direction, in a zigzag pattern, or in a spiral pattern. The latter mode is selected when cleaning heavily soiled areas. The device can also move along baseboards and walls.

Advantages and disadvantages
The device's functionality highlights its key advantages. These include:

- A powerful battery allows you to clean a room for up to two hours, while the battery charging time has been significantly reduced compared to its predecessors.
One drawback of the Philips FC8710 is that you can only set a scheduled cleaning schedule for the next 24 hours, after which you need to reset it. This minor drawback doesn't interfere with the product's excellent performance. There are also reviews that the robot gets tangled in cords. However, this issue is easily resolved by clearing the room of any cords beforehand. Otherwise, this robot vacuum cleaner will be indispensable when cleaning an apartment or house, making its owners' work easier and saving them time for more enjoyable activities.
The only issue is that the model was discontinued in 2019, making it difficult to find in online stores.
