Using these buttons, the user can start cleaning automatically, adjust the vacuum's speed, and direct it to the charging base for recharging.

The side of the device features a movable bumper, infrared proximity sensors, a charging port, and an on/off button. The bottom of the robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with two drive wheels, a front swivel wheel, a side brush, and two center brushes (a straight rubber brush and a spiral bristle brush). The bristle brush is ideal for picking up pet hair and hair, as well as removing debris from hard-to-reach areas. The rubber brush is great for picking up larger debris. The battery compartment and surface recognition sensors are also located in this area.

To control iBoto Optic, you need to install the KV8 mobile app. The app is available for Android, iOS, and other devices. Its simple and accessible interface makes it easy to navigate.

Regarding operating modes, the robot vacuum cleaner cleans in only one automatic mode. In this mode, the vacuum cleaner initially moves in a straight line. If it doesn't collide with any furniture, the device returns to its starting position. Then, after encountering an obstacle, it begins moving in a spiral with a gradually increasing radius, effectively cleaning all accessible areas. In dry cleaning mode, the device sweeps up debris with a side brush, then the central brushes are activated, and the robot then vacuums the debris into the dust collector. The dust collector is designed so that debris falls into two separate compartments. One compartment collects fine dust and dirt particles, while the other traps larger ones.

The device also has a function for wet wiping the floor using a microfiber cloth, which must be pre-moistened.

Another unique feature of the iBoto Optic is its multifunctional charging base, which not only charges the device but also acts as an aroma diffuser, bringing the pleasant aromas of essential oils of the user's choice into any room.

Operating instructions

The robot vacuum cleaner's user manual includes instructions for safe use, a description of its design, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting tips, instructions for using the KV8 app, and technical specifications. A paper copy of the manual is included with the robot vacuum cleaner's main accessories.

Advantages and disadvantages

The robot vacuum cleaner has a number of undeniable advantages, among which the following should be highlighted:

  1. The ratio of wide functionality and low cost (the average price of iBoto Optic in 2019 is $149).
  2. Modern appearance and compact dimensions.
  3. Completeness of the robot vacuum cleaner package.
  4. A system for separate collection of dust and dirt thanks to a special dust collector design.
  5. Medium capacity nickel-metal hydride battery.
  6. Exclusive multifunctional docking station and camera.
  7. Control via remote control and mobile app.
  8. Availability of a function for wiping surfaces with a wet cloth.
  9. Low noise level.

The iBoto Optic's drawbacks include the lack of scheduling and timer options, as well as the lack of multiple cleaning modes, including spot cleaning. Users also note that the robot vacuum often fails to find its station, only cleans the floor at an average of 3 out of 5, and gets tangled in its cords. Therefore, for $150, we believe you can find a more functional robot that will do a better job.

This concludes our description of this model. We also recommend watching the iBoto Optic video review, which clearly demonstrates how this vacuum cleaner works:
