iRobot Roomba 790

The iRobot Roomba 790 model incorporates the best features and functions of its 700 series predecessors, but it has long been discontinued, having been replaced by the more advanced 800 and 900 series robots. The vacuum cleaner now has 42 built-in sensors, increasing the amount of information processed by the iAdapt 2 system and the total number of available commands, which has also improved its performance. The AeroVac dust bin has also undergone some changes: the updated model will signal you when it's time to empty the dust bin. A key difference from previous 700 series models is the improved remote control, which can be called a "command center" with expanded functionality. Now, all the functions and buttons found on the robot's body are duplicated in a similar style on the remote control itself. The command center has a very stylish appearance: when inactive, its surface is plain glossy, but when activated, touch-sensitive keys, indicators, and a backlit display appear underneath. Learn about these and other innovations, as well as the iRobot Roomba 790's performance and cleaning capabilities, in our review.

Functional capabilities
The robot vacuum cleaner is designed for dry cleaning of various types of smooth surfaces (laminate, parquet, tiles, linoleum, etc.), as well as carpets with a pile height of up to 2 cm.
The iRobot Roomba 790 features an optimal three-stage floor cleaning system. The side brush cleans the perimeter of the room, sweeping dirt and dust from around baseboards and corners, directing it toward the counter-rotating center brushes. The lint brush is designed for thoroughly removing debris, hair, and pet hair from carpets, while the soft rubber brush, which adheres closely to the surface of smooth floors, is ideal for cleaning them. Additionally, a silicone squeegee located at the rear of the robot's path finishes cleaning dirt and prevents residual debris from seeping through. All collected debris is collected in a 1-liter vacuum dust bin with a cleaning filter.
The robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with complex algorithms and a set of 42 motion sensors, collectively known as the iAdapt system. The iRobot Roomba 790's control and navigation system monitors its surroundings up to 67 times per second, and thanks to 40 different motion algorithms, it can create the most optimal cleaning route, picking up all debris in a single cycle.
In addition, the robot vacuum cleaner has a proprietary Dirt Detect Series 2 system, which allows it to detect the dirtiest areas and clean them with increased attention and more thoroughness.
iRobot Roomba 790 operating modes:
- automatic – cleaning the entire available area, started by pressing the Clean button;
- local – a mode for the most contaminated areas, activated by the Spot button.
You can also pre-set a cleaning schedule for the iRobot Roomba 790, and with the included Virtual Wall + LightHouse modules, you can limit the cleaning area and help the robot vacuum cleaner navigate the room and successfully locate the docking station.
