Ecovacs WINBOT 850

Robot vacuum cleaners and automatic window cleaners are becoming increasingly popular in today's world. They allow any homeowner to quickly and easily clean both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Ecovacs has developed an amazing window cleaner – the Winbot W850. It's designed for cleaning windows and other smooth surfaces. All the key technical specifications, operating principles, and capabilities are covered in our review.
Equipment
The model comes in a small cardboard box featuring an image of the Winbot W850 itself, along with the robot's main functions and modes. The kit includes the following items:
- Wiper.
- Operating instructions.
- Set of cleaning attachments.
- Remote control.
- Power adapter.
- Safety rope.
- Polishing cloth.
- Extension.
- Protective design with suction cups.
- Special cleaning agent.
Appearance
The Winbot W850 robotic window cleaner's design gives it a modern and sophisticated look. The body itself is made of durable, high-quality plastic. Its square shape ensures maximum cleaning of every corner of the surface being cleaned. A distinctive feature of the cleaner is its unique color—white with a silvery sheen.
The designers have taken pains to reduce all elements to a minimum in the Winbot W850. A central bulge houses the battery, which allows the robotic cleaner to operate autonomously for a period of time. A handle runs along this bulge, allowing the user to easily and comfortably move and position the cleaner from one surface to another.
The handle itself is made of silver plastic, which, combined with the white color, gives the window cleaning robot a luxurious look. The handle has a single button, which starts and stops the automatic window cleaner. A cord is attached to the bottom of the handle, which connects the window cleaning robot to the power outlet. The logo and model of the window cleaning robot are displayed on the lower left side of the handle, and a small speaker is located in the upper right corner.
A look at the underside revealed an air intake in the center. Two caterpillar wheels are mounted on either side, allowing the Winbot W850 to glide easily over glass or tile. A red power button is located nearby. A microfiber polishing cloth is attached around the perimeter.

Functional capabilities
The Winbot W850 window cleaning robot is securely attached to the glass surface thanks to a high-speed motor. It rotates at 19,000 rpm, ensuring a firm grip and quick, thorough cleaning. Winbot's unique feature is its extremely quiet operation, ensuring minimal disruption and quick and discreet cleaning.
The windshield wiper features an automatic four-stage cleaning system. It works by first collecting and loosening dirt using a cloth pre-soaked in cleaning solution. Then, one scraper removes any remaining dirt, while the other scraper removes all moisture. The final step is polishing the surface being cleaned.
As the smallest in its line, the Winbot W850 can clean small glass surfaces. Thanks to its built-in spherical sensors, the window cleaning robot easily detects surface edges, allowing it to clean frameless structures.
The Winbot W850 window cleaner has two movement modes: Z- and N-pattern movement. The former is used for wide, horizontal surfaces, while the latter is for cleaning tall, vertical windows. The wiper is controlled by a remote control.
Operating instructions
The cardboard box, in addition to all the components, also contains the necessary documentation. This includes an operating manual that explains how to use the windshield wiper. The manual itself contains all the information about the device's capabilities, characteristics, and operating modes. It also includes some tips on what to do if any problems arise during operation.

Advantages and disadvantages
A review of the Winbot W850's full capabilities highlights its key pros and cons, allowing you to fully appreciate its capabilities. The robotic windshield cleaner offers the following advantages:
- The presence of scrapers, with the help of which the device cleans the glass even better, without leaving streaks on it.
- The cleaning robot can wash glass even without frames.
- Cleans surfaces of any complexity (within reason).
The disadvantages of the model are as follows:
- Does not clean glass with a relief pattern.
- If the surface is heavily soiled, you must first clean the area to accommodate the robot itself.
- It's difficult to find a branded detergent, and without it, the quality of washing is much worse.
- The price is high, considering the limited functionality (no Wi-Fi control, for example).
Overall, the model is quite interesting, but given the price—around $250 in 2019—you can find a cheaper alternative with the same specifications and capabilities.

I've been using this device a couple of times a year for two years. Everything was fine, as expected. But now it won't turn on—it just flashes blue and doesn't respond to commands! Is this a minor issue? Am I missing something? Or is it broken?
Flashes red and beeps. Doesn't respond to commands.
Flashing green, won't start
Blinks green, does not charge for 24 hours, does not start.
