Roborock Flexi Pro: horizontal floor cleaning, fast drying, 17000 Pa, app

The new Roborock Flexi Pro handheld vacuum cleaner features a number of advanced design features. Most importantly, it can be used horizontally, allowing you to reach under furniture for cleaning. The updated vacuum cleaner also features automatic power boost, illuminated cleaning area, steering wheels, and the ability to customize settings via the proprietary app. Additionally, the docking station has been updated, now self-cleaning with hot water and drying with warm air. At first glance, the Roborock Flexi Pro seems to be fully loaded by 2024 standards. Below, I'll thoroughly test the device, highlight its pros and cons based on the test results, and then express my opinion on whether this cordless handheld vacuum cleaner is worth buying. The price at the time of writing is between $450 and $600, placing the Roborock Flexi Pro in the premium price segment. So, let's get started!
Equipment
Let's start with the package contents. The vacuum cleaner arrived in this branded box:
The package includes the vacuum cleaner itself with a station, a power adapter, a cleaning tool, a spare HEPA filter, and an operating manual translated into Russian.
Appearance
Let's take a look at the Roborock Flexi Pro's design. Let's start with the cleaning module. It's a single roller that extends close to the edge of the body on both sides. Unlike the previously released Roborock Dyad Pro, the roller now has locking tabs on the sides.
The front is equipped with lighting to improve the efficiency of floor washing and waste collection.
The top cover is removable, and the roller is removed from the side. It is mounted on a special holder. The roller's structure is familiar: soft bristles. Behind the roller, you'll find a full-width comb, a scraper, and a suction hole in the center.
The water tanks are located above. A 730 ml clean water tank is located in the front. Inside, you can see a coarse water filter.
The dirty water tank is equipped with a HEPA filter with a mesh screen, a set of sensors for monitoring the liquid level, and a coarse filter. Its capacity is 450 ml.
The vacuum cleaner is controlled by buttons on the top of the handle. Above them is an information display. Two buttons are conveniently located for your thumb: the power on/off button and the mode switch. There are three modes: Economy, Automatic, and Maximum. In Automatic mode, the Roborock Flexi Pro automatically adjusts suction power when it detects dirt. Another button is located on the front of the handle. It initiates self-cleaning at the station.
The station charges the vacuum cleaner, cleans the roller with hot water, and dries it with warm air. The water temperature for washing the roller reaches 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). When drying, the temperature reaches 55 degrees Celsius (131 degrees Fahrenheit).
Overall, we see a completely updated design compared to the Dyad series. The pros and cons of the new product's design will be discussed in the final review.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of Roborock Flexi Pro, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Battery: Li-Ion, 4000 mAh
- Power consumption: 260 W.
- Suction power: up to 17000 Pa
- Charging time up to 4 hours
- Working time: up to 50 min
- Clean water tank: 730 ml
- Dirty water tank: 450 ml
- Noise level: 72-74 dB
Again, compared to the Dyad Pro, suction power remains unchanged, the water tanks are smaller, but the runtime has increased slightly. The noise level, which I personally tested, is between 72-74 dB, depending on the selected mode. The vacuum cleaner is slightly quieter than its predecessor.
Functional capabilities
Let's take a closer look at the Roborock Flexi Pro's functionality. This vacuum cleaner can be connected to the proprietary app for flexible cleaning settings.
The app offers three standard modes to choose from, and for the automatic mode, you can adjust the wheel steering level, suction power, the degree of roller wetting, and even its rotation speed. You can also set up a self-cleaning station, specifically selecting the self-cleaning mode, the roller cleaning water temperature, and the roller drying speed. For some reason, it offers a scheduled roller drying option, and, more usefully, you can adjust the volume of the voice prompts and monitor the status of consumables. Overall, the app is truly useful and convenient.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Roborock Flexi Pro, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
And finally, let's move on to the tests. We'll see how well the Roborock Flexi Pro performs at its primary task – cleaning floors. There will be several tests, from simple to more complex.
The vacuum cleaner handles everyday floor cleaning well. In automatic mode, it automatically adjusts suction power depending on the degree of dirtiness of the floor. Liquid is thoroughly sucked into the dirty water tank, leaving no streaks or puddles.
Here's how to clean under furniture with the Roborock Flexi Pro. I should note that due to its size, this vacuum cleaner only fits under 15 cm of clearance. So, I'm not sure this design feature will be particularly useful in everyday life. At least, I didn't find any such areas in my apartment. Typically, there's 10 cm of clearance under furniture.
However, if you can figure out where you can squeeze it through, this solution will be very useful. I'll just note that in the horizontal position, the suction either turns off or drops to the minimum value. This isn't entirely correct, in my opinion.
You can also use the vacuum cleaner to pick up liquids and mixtures, like in my case, a mixture of raw egg and flour. Very convenient.
This vacuum cleaner removes dirt wonderfully, leaving no streaks or marks.
I'll just add that because the roller has clips on either side, there's a blind spot between the roller's edge and the baseboard. It's about 8 mm.
The Roborock Flexi Pro also handles tough, dried-in stains with ease. It's capable of scrubbing them away. Since there's no cleaning solution included, only water was used in this test. Even with just water, the Roborock Flexi Pro cleaned the stand in 5.5 minutes. That's a good result! Most similar machines complete the task in 8-10 minutes.
I also tested how well this wet/dry vacuum cleaner can pick up various types of debris from the floor. One caveat: it can't pick up large debris, as it's not designed to suck it into the dustbin, and the distance between the roller and the squeegee is minimal. However, the Roborock Flexi Pro has no trouble picking up smaller debris, such as fur, hair, dust, crumbs, or grains. There's also no blind spot in the corner.
Since there's no liquid suction mode and the roller design isn't suitable, cleaning carpets with this vacuum cleaner isn't the best idea. The most practical option is to use the energy-saving mode to pick up debris from the carpet. But even then, there's a high risk of getting it wet and dirty. Basically, carpets aren't the Roborock Flexi Pro's cup of tea.
The last thing left to test was the self-cleaning performance. After all the complex tests, I drained the dirty water from the tank, filled it with clean water, and turned on the deep self-cleaning function. The rollers were indeed clean after the sauce-wiping tests, as was the self-cleaning platform itself.
After testing under domestic conditions, including with a raw egg, the self-cleaning performance isn't as perfect, but it's still no worse than other wet vacuum cleaners, including premium ones. Drying, however, is truly effective. Even with the express drying feature, the roller is practically dry after 30 minutes. With the deep drying feature, it's completely dry with warm air.
Personal opinion
The Roborock Flexi Pro upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight the pros and cons of the new product. I liked the following:
- Capable of removing even difficult stains faster than most analogues.
- Removes dirt right up to the baseboard.
- Self-cleaning roller with hot water.
- Complete and very fast drying of the roller with hot air.
- Can be tilted to a completely horizontal position.
- Automatic power increase mode.
- High suction power, judging by the stated characteristics.
- Illumination of the cleaning area.
- Conveniently configure cleaning parameters via the app.
- Voice notifications in Russian
- Motors in the wheels increase ease of use, making the vacuum cleaner even easier to control.
- Overall, ergonomic design and stylish execution.
- Availability of warranty and service.
Among the disadvantages I would like to highlight:
- There is still a small blind spot between the edge of the roller and the baseboard, and it is larger than that of the Roborock Dyad Pro.
- In the horizontal position, the suction is switched off.
- There is no automatic detergent mixing function.
- Unable to pick up large debris from the floor.
- Not suitable for cleaning carpets.
- Non-removable battery.
- Considering the price, it does not transform into a dry vacuum cleaner, like the Dreame H12 Dual and some other models in the line.
Ultimately, the first three drawbacks are, in my opinion, the main ones for this model. The rest are typical for many upright wet/dry vacuum cleaners. If these issues aren't critical to you, I definitely recommend considering this option. In my opinion, the Roborock Flexi Pro is one of the best upright wet/dry vacuum cleaners of 2024. As a wet/dry vacuum cleaner, it's efficient, smart, ergonomic, and functional. What more could you want?
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
