- Personal opinion
The Roborock Q Revo is a new robot vacuum cleaner, the main highlight of which is its two rotating pads, which are supposed to give the robot a better cleaning performance than all previous versions of the brand's line. Additionally, the self-cleaning technology has been updated, the object detection system has been redesigned, and the docking station has been redesigned. So, I've shown you how the Roborock Q Revo is designed, how it performs at its core function, and, based on my testing results, I've expressed my opinion on whether this robot vacuum is worth buying. The launch price, scheduled for late August 2023, is around $900, or approximately $940 at the current exchange rate, making it slightly cheaper than the previously released Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and Roborock S8 Pro. Let's get to the review!
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
In addition to the robot and station, the delivery kit includes:
- Two napkin holders.
- Power adapter.
- Spare bag for the station.
- Documentation with translation into Russian.
Standard equipment. Let's move on!
Appearance
Let's take a look at the Roborock Q Revo's design. It's available in both white and black. I prefer the white version, which is more practical. The robot vacuum itself is round. A wall sensor is mounted on the right side, and a system of sensors in the center detects and carefully avoids objects on the floor.
The technology is called Reactive Tech, and this is something new, as its predecessors called the system Reactive 3D and ReactiveAI. The case height is 97 mm from the floor.
I'd like to point out right away that there's a dust chute curtain on the side for self-cleaning the station's dust bin. Roborock has finally moved away from the central brush unit and implemented a familiar yet practical self-cleaning system through a separate side channel!
The control panel features two mechanical buttons. A lidar sensor is responsible for navigation, and it features a spring-loaded cover to prevent it from getting stuck under furniture. The dust container is located under the top cover. The filtration system still uses a HEPA filter only. The dust container capacity is 350 ml. The manufacturer allows you to rinse the container and filter with water. This model has a water tank, but it's hidden within the body, like similar models from Dreame and Ecovacs. The tank capacity is approximately 80 ml. Water is pumped in automatically at the station.
Let's take a look at the Roborock Q Revo's underside. It has four fall protection sensors and a carpet detection sensor. It has a single, three-beam, quick-release side brush. The center brush unit is floating. It also has a single turbo brush, like the Series 7. It's silicone and can be removed from both sides to remove tangled hair and pet hair. That's a plus.
And finally, the wipes are a familiar design, but the material itself is much denser than most similar products. And the wipes' structure is more effective, as proven in international tests.
I'll note that the wiper holders can automatically lift up 7 mm when driving onto carpeted surfaces. This is a plus. However, I'd like to point out that the wipers don't extend to the edges of the frame or to the sides, so there will likely be a narrow blind spot along the baseboard, the width of which I'll verify in tests.
As for the station, it's also been improved. The ramp for the robot to enter and the tray where the wipes are washed are now removable. This is VERY convenient for station maintenance. The trash bag is now located in the front, behind the lid. I've seen this before 😊 The bag's capacity has been increased to 2.7 liters. The water tanks have also been enlarged. Each now holds 5 liters, which is very good!
I'll add that the Roborock Q Revo station not only self-cleaning and washing cloths, but also drying them with warm air. That's a plus! However, there's no word yet on connecting the station to a sewer or water supply. The design allows for this, but there's no practical information yet about the modules. I'd really like to see them added.
Overall, we see that some work has been done, and the main credit to Roborock's engineers is, of course, equipping the robot with two round cleaning pads, something we've been waiting for over a year! But the change in self-cleaning technology was also a pleasant surprise! Let's see how this new product performs in tests!

The main change concerns the capacity of the station's bag and tanks, as mentioned earlier. The stated power is slightly lower than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, but still high.
Functional capabilities
Speaking of features, the robot vacuum cleaner is controlled via the proprietary Roborock app. Connection is simple and convenient, the interface is in Russian, and the Russian version of the robot itself even has voice notifications in Russian. The global version doesn't have a Russian voice package, which is important to keep in mind.
Main features of Roborock Q Revo:
- Self-cleaning at the station.
- Rinsing the napkin at the station.
- Drying the napkin with warm air.
- Refilling the robot's water tank via the station.
- Identifying objects on the floor.

There's nothing new here, but it's worth noting that there are a large number of functions, allowing you to flexibly customize cleaning parameters to suit your own conditions.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Roborock Q Revo, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Navigation
And finally, let's move on to the tests! First, we'll test the Roborock Q Revo's navigation in a room with obstacles. When entering the room, the robot vacuum first circled a box, then moved around the perimeter, and then cleaned the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern. It navigated through the legs of a clothes dryer without getting stuck. The robot also navigated around all four legs of a chair, then returned to its base. The test was successful!
Speaking of navigation within the home, the Roborock Q Revo cleans room by room, first along the perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. After each room, as specified in the settings, the robot vacuum returns to the station and rinses the cleaning cloth, then returns to clean from where it left off. There are no uncleaned areas, the cleaning speed is high, and this model's navigation is excellent!
Identifying and avoiding obstacles
We'll also test the floor object detection system. For this, we placed various household items around the room that could interfere with the cleaning process and even block the robot's brushes, causing it to malfunction.
In good lighting, the Roborock Q Revo was able to accurately navigate around five of the six objects. It only ran over a simulated pet surprise. The robot did touch some objects during cleaning, but most importantly, they didn't interfere with the cleaning process or cause the robot to malfunction. Even in complete darkness, the robot was able to accurately navigate around the remaining five objects without chewing them. Overall, I can say the robot vacuum is very accurate and the object detection system works correctly, although it's not perfect.
But I'll point out an important detail: the bumper sensors can only detect objects on the floor and display them as icons on the map, but the robot is not capable of recognizing what's actually on the floor, as is the case with the Roborock S7 MaxV and Roborock S8. This means this model lacks artificial intelligence, and that's important to keep in mind.
Suction power
As for suction power, it actually proved to be superior. The Roborock Q Revo was able to suck up debris from crevices up to 6 mm deep. This is sufficient for a home environment, but the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, for example, was able to suck up debris from a 10 mm gap, thus proving to be more powerful. This information may be important for those choosing between these robot vacuums.
Dry cleaning of laminate flooring
The collection quality of various types of debris on laminate floors is good. Only a little debris remains in corners, where round robotic vacuums can't reach. All debris is collected in the dust bin. It's important to note that the central brush doesn't get tangled in hair. It's wrapped around the sides under the caps, and the hair is easily removed from the brush. That's a plus!
Cleaning the carpet
The Roborock Q Revo also does a good job of cleaning carpets. It's worth noting that the silicone turbo brushes are slightly inferior to a conventional bristle-petal brush in terms of dust collection on carpets, but the cleaning performance is still high for a home environment. Test passed!
Self-cleaning
Immediately after the "dirty tests," I tested the Roborock Q Revo's self-cleaning capabilities. I ran it again in a room with a large amount of debris, which the robot picked up without difficulty. I returned the robot to its docking station and started self-cleaning. The results were excellent. The dust bin was completely empty, so self-cleaning is a good feature of this robot!
Wet cleaning
The dirt removal performance is also excellent. The cloth presses firmly to the floor and absorbs dirt. This leaves only a narrow, unwashed area along the baseboard, which is a weak point for most robot vacuums reviewed. With the Roborock Q Revo, the blind spot is approximately 45 mm wide.
But in any case, I can say that two cloths clean floors much better in everyday use, and the robot's trail is more visible. Overall, I think two cloths are better than one, at least when it comes to the Roborock line!
Removing difficult stains
As for removing tough stains like dried-on coffee and sauce stains, the robot can handle coffee stains, but dried-on sauce is beyond its capabilities. However, to be fair, even specialized wet/dry vacuum cleaners struggle to remove these stains, making this a challenging task for a household robot and not designed for such conditions.
I'll likely avoid using sauce altogether and only test how many passes robots can remove coffee stains in future tests. Although, to be fair, some robots can handle even these stains, they're rare. The Roborock Q Revo isn't capable of removing tough stains.
Wet cleaning and carpets
When it comes to wet cleaning on carpeted floors, the robot has four different modes of interaction. It can carefully navigate around the carpet in wet cleaning mode, it can drive over it and rub the cloth against the carpet if you want to clean it with the robot, it can clean it separately after a full cleaning cycle, and the best option is to automatically lift the cloth when driving over carpets. Here's how it works:
Rinsing quality of the wipe
We also checked the wipes' rinsing performance after the dirty tests. After the tests, they had absorbed all the dirt. We started the wipes' rinsing function, waited, and observed. Visually, the wipes were much cleaner. We removed them and checked them under running clean water. Some dirt was washed out, but it wasn't critical. From experience, I can say that the rinsing results are good, no worse than similar products. There are no complaints about the wipes' rinsing performance.
The station is incredibly easy to maintain! We remove the drain and tray, rinse them in the sink, and put them back. As mentioned before, the station is very practical!
A few words about the wipe drying process—it's really effective. After 4 hours, the wipe is completely dry. That's a plus!
Obstacle clearance
The Roborock Q Revo has excellent maneuverability. It can navigate even 2 cm thresholds, lifting napkins in the process. That's a plus!
Driving on black surfaces
And the robot navigates black carpets without a problem, just like its latest predecessors. That's a plus!
Noise level
The noise level was measured personally and ranged from 54 to 63.8 dB, depending on the selected operating mode.
I can say that the robot actually operates quite quietly, compared to previously released models and similar products from other brands. Moreover, the suction power is increased. So, quiet operation is definitely a plus.
Personal opinion
The Roborock Q Revo robot vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 174 points and enter the TOP-10 tested robotic vacuum cleaners at the time of writing this review. A little behind Roborock S8 Pro Ultra And Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, which scored 177 and 179 points respectively.
I'll highlight the pros and cons of the robot vacuum cleaner in question, and then share my opinion about it.
I liked the following:
- Availability of a station for self-cleaning the dust collector, rinsing and drying wipes.
- An object detection system that doesn't go blind in the dark.
- Good navigation. Roborock has the best navigation system on the market, in my opinion.
- Effective self-cleaning of the dust collector and cloth.
- Complete drying of the napkin with hot air.
- Spacious tanks at the station.
- The station design is easy to maintain.
- The silicone turbo brush makes it easier to clean hair and fur.
- Round rotating cloths clean floors better.
- Lifting napkins when driving onto carpets.
- Increased suction power.
- High-quality dry and wet cleaning.
- A large number of functions in the application.
- The robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of black surfaces.
- Good cross-country ability.
- High-quality assembly and high brand authority.
- Availability of a full warranty and service support.
As for the shortcomings, I would like to highlight the following comments:
- The robot is not capable of removing complex stains.
- There is no object recognition, only detection by sensitive sensors.
- There is no active camera for remote home monitoring.
- The station cannot be connected to the sewerage and water supply.
- There is no automatic addition of detergent to the stations.
- Doesn't sweep out debris in the corners.
- There remains a narrow, unwashed area along the baseboard.
Some of the complaints are typical for most robot vacuums, while others may be less important to many buyers. For example, the active camera is a controversial issue. While some may appreciate the lack of live video streaming, for others, it may be a compelling reason to choose the previously released Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra or a newer product from another brand.
Ultimately, I can say that the Roborock Q Revo isn't exactly a flagship model in the company's lineup, but it's certainly worth considering. This robot vacuum cleaner will be especially appealing to those looking for a premium Roborock model but looking for a more effective mopping experience. Had this device been released a year ago, it would have definitely caused a stir. Today, it's a solid premium robot capable of high-quality vacuuming and mopping. We eagerly await Roborock's flagship solution, which will combine all the brand's advanced features and offer something new!
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
