Appearance

The iLife V5s Pro has a very attractive and modern appearance. The top of the unit has a gold hue, lending the robot vacuum cleaner a particularly sophisticated and elegant look. Its compact size allows it to reach under furniture and clean out accumulated dirt and dust. A look at the front reveals the robot's touch-sensitive power button, the iLife logo, and a dust bin release button. The dust bin is removed from the top.

Functional capabilities

iLife V5s is capable of cleaning a room in the following three main modes:

  • Automatic, until the battery is completely discharged: movement is generally chaotic, the vacuum cleaner selects the trajectory of movement based on the characteristics of the room.
  • Spot cleaning mode (local/local): in this mode, the vacuum cleaner moves along a spiral path over a specified area of the room, which has a small area.
  • Perimeter cleaning: when the robot reaches a wall, it begins to move exclusively along the perimeter, cleaning debris along baseboards and from corners.

Operation of sensors

In addition, you can use the infrared remote control to schedule cleaning and set a specific time for the iLife V5s Pro to start automatically.

As the test shows, the device copes quite well with its main task – dry cleaning of hard floor coverings such as parquet, tiles, linoleum, laminate, etc., but is also capable of easily driving onto carpets with a not very high pile and cleaning them.

Cleaning under furniture

Thanks to its built-in wet cleaning function, the robot vacuum cleaner can mop and refresh floors after dry cleaning. For this purpose, the robot has a separate 300-milliliter liquid tank and two openings on the bottom of the body for dispensing liquid onto a microfiber cloth attached to a special holder.

The dust collector has two filtration stages: one mesh filter for collecting the main, large debris, which can be washed with water, and the second HEPA filter, which traps smaller particles of dirt and dust.

Operating instructions

A user manual is included with the robot vacuum cleaner, but it's only written in Chinese and English, so you'll need to translate it yourself. The manual contains standard information: a description of the robot's design, performance, and features, as well as explanations on how to use and maintain the device.

Advantages and disadvantages

To sum it up, I would like to consider the pros and cons of this robot vacuum cleaner in a separate list.

Advantages of Chuwi iLife V5s:

  1. Modern design and small body size.
  2. Maneuverability and good obstacle avoidance (the vacuum cleaner can even climb onto the fluffiest carpets).
  3. Powerful battery.
  4. The presence of sensors and detectors against falls and collisions with furniture.
  5. Remote control with batteries included.
  6. Equipped with a soft bumper.
  7. Separate water tank.
  8. Planning cleaning.
  9. Double filtration system.
  10. Increased suction power.

The main disadvantages of a robot vacuum cleaner:

  1. The absence of a movement limiter in the kit.
  2. Small suction hole.
  3. There is no automatic water supply to the napkin.
  4. The work schedule function is not fully implemented; planning is only carried out for one day.

Considering the average price of this model in 2018 is $125, the shortcomings are quite obvious and justified. Finally, we recommend watching the video review of the iLife V5s Pro, which clearly demonstrates how this robot vacuum cleaner cleans:

There's a mistake in the description: the wipe automatically dispenses water. This is done through two small holes at the bottom that connect to a water tank inside. And, despite its small size, the effect is noticeable: the room becomes slightly more humid, which is especially convenient before bed.
