Today's review focuses on the Midea VCR06 and VCR07 models, which differ only in their body color. All other parameters and functions are identical. We will consider these models as a single robot vacuum cleaner. The robot's main feature is a rotating V-shaped electric brush, which, together with a pair of side brushes and a suction port, allows for a thorough cleaning of floors from debris and dust. The device is capable of cleaning both hard flooring (laminate, tile, linoleum, wood, ceramic, etc.) and carpets and low-pile carpeting. The Midea VCR06/VCR07 are equipped with obstacle and height sensors. You can control the robot's movement and select one of its operating modes using the remote control. It is worth noting that this robot vacuum cleaner is in the budget price range, costing only $80. A more detailed description of the device and its specifications is provided below.

Equipment

The robot vacuum cleaner is packaged in a cardboard box with a small plastic handle for easy handling and transportation. The components are separated and placed in separate boxes and bags.

Basic delivery kit Midea VCR06/VCR07:

  1. Robot.
  2. Charging base.
  3. Power unit.
  4. Remote control.
  5. Side brushes (pair of main + pair of spare).
  6. Spare HEPA filter.
  7. Brush for cleaning the dust collector.
  8. Operating instructions.

As we can see from the review, the robot vacuum cleaner does not come with a magnetic strip or virtual wall. Since there's no way to limit the cleaning area via the smartphone app, users must thoroughly prepare the room before cleaning, removing all fragile and foreign objects from the floor.

Appearance

The Midea VCR06/VCR07 is made of plastic and comes in two colors: brown (VCR07) and white (VCR06). The design is traditional, with no particularly striking exterior features. The glossy surface requires careful maintenance, as it is quite easily soiled. The device is round, with dimensions of 350 x 350 x 97 mm. The robot is quite tall, despite the lack of lidar, which is a drawback.

When reviewing the top panel, we see a touch button for starting autonomous operation and a key for opening the dust collector compartment cover.

The front of the Midea VCR06/VCR07 robot vacuum cleaner traditionally features a protective bumper with built-in infrared obstacle sensors, followed by a power button, exhaust vents, and a connector for the power supply and direct charging of the device from the mains.

On the back of the robot, on the bottom, are two drive wheels, a front swivel roller, a battery compartment, charging contacts, height sensors, two side brushes, and a universal 2-in-1 V-shaped brush, which consists of a bristle brush that thoroughly cleans the joints between tiles and carpets, and a rubber brush that effectively removes dried-on dirt.

Functional capabilities

The manufacturer claims the Midea VCR06/VCR07 robot vacuum cleaner features G-slam navigation with route planning. In practice, this technology simply cleans in a zigzag pattern. As we mentioned earlier, the robot is also equipped with built-in obstacle avoidance and fall prevention sensors.

Trajectory of movementTrajectory of movement

Trajectory of movement

The device is designed for dry floor cleaning only. It operates with two side brushes, which sweep debris toward the central V-shaped electric brush, which consists of two parts: a bristle brush and a rubber brush. All collected debris then flows through the suction port into the dust container. The Midea VCR06/VCR07 dust container is equipped with two filters, including a fine HEPA filter. Thanks to the filtration system, even the smallest dust particles and allergens are trapped inside the dust container, and the air exiting is purified to the highest possible standards.

In addition to zigzag cleaning, the Midea VCR06/VCR07 robot vacuum cleaner has the following operating modes:

  • automatic – the vacuum cleaner randomly cleans the entire available cleaning area;
  • along the walls – the robot vacuum cleaner moves around the perimeter of the room along furniture and baseboards, and also sweeps debris out of the corners;
  • spot cleaning – local cleaning of the most contaminated small areas (up to 1 meter in diameter) along a spiral trajectory.

    Good afternoon.
    We bought the aforementioned robot vacuum cleaner (Midea VCR06/VCR07). We set it to "scheduled cleaning," and it cleans for 10-15 minutes, then says "cleaning complete" and returns to its base. However, if you restart it at this point, it runs for an hour and a half.
    Please tell me what the problem might be?
    Thanks in advance
