Clever&Clean Glider A5: The Best Electric Mop of 2020

Equipment

Let's start with unpacking. The floor polisher, or electric mop as it's also called, comes in two boxes. One is a standard shipping box. The other is branded, with a picture of the model and its features.

Inside the box are:

1. The main block of the floor polisher.
2. Telescopic tube.
3. Control handle.
4. Power adapter for charging from the network.
5. A set of pink napkins (2 pcs.), used for washing floors.
6. A set of blue napkins (2 pcs.), used for polishing the floor.
7. Measuring cup.
8. Operating instructions from the manufacturer.

Appearance

Let's take a closer look at the Clever&Clean Glider A5's main unit. On top, we see a hole with a sealed valve for filling with water. The tank holds up to 300 ml of liquid, which is more than enough. On the side, we see a large power button, conveniently operated with your foot. The hinge connecting the main unit to the telescopic tube rotates, making the polisher more maneuverable.

There is also a battery installed there with a hole for connecting the charger and a battery charge indicator.

Turn the Glider A5 upside down and it immediately becomes clear that it is very similar to Everybot robotic floor polishersThe same two rotating disks are installed underneath. The rotation speed ranges from 230 to 250 rpm.

The pads are attached to the discs themselves. However, the discs themselves are larger and don't transfer water to the pad.

The liquid is sprayed through a special nozzle manually in front of the polisher by pressing the corresponding button on the handle.

The pads are attached with Velcro. It's important to center the pads evenly on the platforms to prevent the floor polisher from drifting off during operation. Oh, and one more important point: the front of the unit features an LED light to illuminate dark areas during cleaning.

The main unit of the floor polisher is just under 10 cm tall, and its length varies from 94 to 122 cm, depending on the position of the telescopic handle.

Technical specifications

Let's move on to an overview of the Clever&Clean Glider A5's features. Among the key ones, I'd like to highlight:

• Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh.
• Operating time up to 40 min.
• Charging time up to 150 min.
• The noise level is about 60 dB.
• The water tank capacity is 300 ml.
• Weight 3.2 kg.
• The height of the main block is 10 cm.

Functional capabilities

First, let's talk about how to remove this handheld floor polisher from its parking position and put it back after washing the floor. It's quite simple. Just step lightly on the body and pull the handle toward you. A special lock will unlock, and the floor polisher will be ready for use. A similar solution is implemented in the upright vacuum cleaner. Hoover H-Free, which we tested previously. But the latch there was very tight and clicked loudly, which left a negative impression. Here, everything is soft and smooth, no complaints there.

In addition to cleaning the floor with rotating discs, the Glider A5 also glides across the surface, minimizing the effort required to operate it. In fact, the model's name suggests this: "Gilde" means "glides." And it's incredibly convenient; during the several minutes we tested it, we experienced no discomfort whatsoever.

A key feature of the Glider A5 is its pre-wetting feature. A special nozzle is located under the LED lighting. Pressing a button on the handle sprays water over a short distance, eliminating the need to manually remove and re-wet the mops. It's simply a great solution.

Let's sum it up

We've thoroughly reviewed and tested the Glider A5. Now let's evaluate it based on various criteria.

Ergonomics 9 out of 10Words can't describe how convenient this handheld floor polisher is until you try it. It glides easily across the floor, is made of high-quality plastic, the buttons are conveniently located, and you can even adjust the handle's height. Everything is thought out down to the last detail; there's nothing to complain about. The only minor criticism that might warrant a point deduction is the height of the frame. It won't fit under low furniture. However, kitchen cabinet legs are often 10 cm high, so the frame will fit snugly under them.

Cleaning quality 10 out of 10You saw the test yourself: the paints and dirt were dried, the lipstick was greasy and had also dried a bit, while the sauce and coffee were fresh, simulating normal household conditions. The floor polisher handled everything, even better than we expected. It left no streaks or stains. We don't have anything to compare it to yet, but it's definitely on par with manually scrubbing stains with a regular mop. But you expend far less effort.

Quality and reliability 10 out of 10As mentioned earlier, we have no complaints about Clever&Clean products or the brand itself. This company has been around for a long time, its products are official, and they offer a warranty and customer support. Furthermore, reviews of their robot vacuum cleaners are mostly positive, and we've tested their robots several times. So, there's nothing to complain about here either.

It might even make sense to give it a 30 out of 30 if you don't mention the height of the cabinet. What do you think? For now, this is the best solution for me for washing floors and robot vacuum cleaner for dry cleaning This is a very effective combination until self-cleaning robotic vacuum cleaners hit the market. In any case, the price of this handheld floor polisher is completely justified, even compared to similar products that cost a couple of dollars less but don't have official dealerships in Russia. Or, conversely, cost an exorbitant amount.
