Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach: an upright vacuum cleaner for both floor cleaning and dry cleaning!

Hello to all readers of this project! This review will focus on the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach cordless wet/dry vacuum cleaner. Its key feature is the additional dry cleaning attachments that attach to the detachable main unit. This allows one vacuum cleaner to be used for both wet and dry cleaning. Additionally, the device boasts increased suction power of 23,000 Pa, a 180-degree tilt angle, a self-cleaning roller with hot water at the station, and quick drying with hot air. This combination of features will set you back between $530 and $580 at the time of writing. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach, highlight its pros and cons based on my test results, and then share my personal opinion. Let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- The washing vacuum cleaner itself.
- Removable handle.
- Charging and self-cleaning base for a washing vacuum cleaner.
- Floor holder for dry cleaning nozzles.
- Floor nozzle with extension tube.
- Nozzle with turbo brush for cleaning upholstered furniture.
- Crevice nozzle.
- The main unit of a vacuum cleaner for dry cleaning.
- Vacuum cleaner cleaning brush.
- Spare roller for floor washing.
- Replacement HEPA filter for a washing vacuum cleaner.
- Operating instructions translated into Russian.
- 500 ml bottle of detergent.
In my opinion, the vacuum cleaner comes with a very good set of accessories. It has all the necessary attachments for dry cleaning, spare accessories, and even the brand's cleaning solution. That's a plus!
Appearance
Now let's look at how the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach is designed. Let's start with the wet/dry vacuum cleaner. The roller extends to the edge of the body on both sides. However, as you can see, the roller doesn't extend right to the edge; there are also locking tabs on both sides behind it. So, we can predict that there will still be a narrow, non-washable zone on both sides, but it will be much smaller than on most similar devices.
The 780 ml clean water tank is located above the roller. This placement allows the center of gravity to be lowered for easier control. The lid houses a coarse water filter.
The roller is removed from the side and held in place by a familiar clip. The roller itself is a familiar design, made of soft, fluffy bristles.
The roller cap is removable, but you'll need a coin or a flat-head screwdriver to remove it. Behind the roller is a comb for detangling tangled hair and fur. That's a plus.
The waste water tank is located at the front, above the cleaning module. It holds up to 700 ml of waste liquid in a vertical position and up to 450 ml in a horizontal position. The tank features two maximum water level marks: for vertical and horizontal operation. A filtration system is installed inside, consisting of a HEPA filter with a mesh screen and a coarse filter for cleaning liquid. The water level sensors are electronic.
The handle contains three mechanical control buttons: power on/off, switching operating modes, and starting the self-cleaning function at the station.
There are four operating modes: smart (or automatic), maximum, quiet, and dry suction. In automatic mode, the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach automatically adjusts suction power when it detects dirt. All information is displayed on a large, informative display.
I'll add that the vacuum cleaner has built-in voice alerts in several languages, including Russian. The language switch button is located on the back of the vacuum cleaner, along with the roller that glides the vacuum cleaner horizontally across the floor.
As mentioned earlier, the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach allows you to clean your floor in a completely lying position thanks to its 180-degree tilt angle.
The vacuum cleaner's height in a horizontal position is 14 cm. It will fit into gaps of this size.
As for converting a wet/dry vacuum cleaner into a dry vacuum cleaner, it's simple. The motor unit detaches from the wet/dry vacuum cleaner with the press of a button.
The battery is also detachable separately, which is a significant design upgrade compared to previously released combo versions.
Because the predecessors combined the motor unit with the battery, this isn't very cost-effective. Such a unit will obviously cost more if it needs to be replaced than a conventional battery.
Basically, we install the battery and motor unit into the main unit, attach the desired attachment, and the dry vacuum cleaner is ready.
It's turned on and off by pressing a button located under the index finger. The display is the same as the wet/dry vacuum cleaner, but there are now two operating modes: standard and turbo. The mode switch button is conveniently located on the end, under the thumb, allowing for one-handed operation.
To detach the motor unit, use the latch on the side. Further down on the same side is the dust container release button. Its filtration system consists of a fabric filter, a multi-cyclone system with 7 cyclones, and a mesh filter.
Let's take a look at the additional attachments included in the kit. The main floor nozzle features a swivel joint and a light. It contains a roller with short bristles. This type of roller has proven effective for cleaning carpets, but it also picks up debris well on hard floors. The roller is easily removed from the nozzle. Behind it is a comb for detangling hair and fur.
The upholstery cleaning attachment is equipped with a turbo brush with bristle inserts. This turbo brush can be removed from the housing for cleaning, but you'll need a coin or a flat-head screwdriver.
A uniquely designed crevice tool. The nozzle is equipped with a bristle brush, and a flexible section can be pulled out from the edge of the tool, allowing the tool to be extended and reach deeper for cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
The last thing to consider is the base. It charges the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach, cleans the roller with hot water heated to 90 degrees Celsius (194 degrees Fahrenheit), and dries it with warm air, also reaching 90 degrees Celsius (194 degrees Fahrenheit). A holder for additional attachments can be attached to the side of the base, making it very convenient for storing all your accessories in one place.
The pros and cons of the wet/dry vacuum cleaner's design will be discussed in the final review. Let's move on!
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Li-Ion battery, 4000 mAh
- Power consumption: 400 W
- Suction power: up to 23,000 Pa
- Operating time: up to 60 min
- Clean water tank: 780 ml
- Dirty water tank: 700/450 ml
- Self-cleaning temperature: 90 degrees
- Roller drying temperature: 90 degrees
- Noise level: 72-86 dB
- Weight: 5.4 kg / 3.3 kg.
The noise level was personally tested. When washing the floor, it ranged from 67.2 to 74 dB, and when using a handheld vacuum, it reached 79 dB. This is a standard vacuum cleaner noise level.
The fully assembled wet/dry vacuum weighs approximately 5.4 kg. The fully assembled dry vacuum weighs 3,285 grams, including the main unit (2,155 grams), the extension tube (262 grams), and the floor nozzle (868 grams). It's slightly heavier than its competitors, but this is likely due to the separate motor unit and battery. While the main unit is heavier, it's not a significant increase.
I also tested the battery life of the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach in dry cleaning mode at maximum power with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed 25 minutes and 16 seconds of runtime, which is a very good result.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
And finally, let's move on to the tests. We'll check how well this vacuum cleaner performs its primary function. There will be several tests, from simple to more complex.
The vacuum cleaner handles everyday floor cleaning well. In automatic mode, it automatically adjusts suction power depending on the degree of dirtiness of the floor. Liquid is thoroughly sucked into the dirty water tank, leaving no streaks or puddles.
You can also use the vacuum cleaner to pick up liquids and mixtures, like in my case, a mixture of raw egg and flour. Very convenient.
The vacuum cleaner removes dirt with ease, leaving no streaks or marks. Moreover, the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach can clean dirt right up to the baseboard thanks to its dual-sided roller.
In reality, the blind spot is about 6 mm, while most similar devices have a blind spot of 15-20 mm. Still, Dreame's engineers still have room for improvement.
It does remove tough stains with some difficulty, though. It does take some time. In my case, it took about two and a half minutes, even using the included cleaning solution. The result is one of the best on the project. Bravo, Dreame engineers!
After all the tests, we checked the self-cleaning performance of the wet/dry vacuum cleaner, and here again, the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach did not disappoint. It cleans dirt and debris effectively. This is thanks to the heated water and the alternating rotation of the roller, which improves cleaning performance. And best of all, even after such a challenging test, the roller was completely clean.
In everyday life, the lid, roller, and area behind the roller are also easy to clean after self-cleaning, so I think it's very well implemented in this model!
The drying is also really effective. Even after 5 minutes of quick drying, the roller is practically dry! Great job, Dreame engineers!
I'll also show you how the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach handles dry cleaning when using additional attachments.
I even checked the actual washing and drying temperatures of the roller. During self-cleaning, the sensor showed a temperature above 66 degrees Celsius. This was likely due to the rapid rotation of the roller in the wash zone, which prevented the water from concentrating and warming the sensor. However, during drying, the sensor showed a temperature above 76 degrees Celsius, which is closer to the stated values. In any case, both self-cleaning and drying do their job well!
As for suction power, the vacuum cleaner was able to clean debris from a 25 mm gap at medium power, and at maximum power, it reached 35 mm. So, I can say this is a powerful upright vacuum cleaner.
Now let's test how well the Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine did a good job.
There are no blind spots in the corners, and the roller is clean after cleaning. Test passed!
When it comes to dust collection on carpets, the vacuum cleaner cleans both low- and medium-pile carpets extremely well. It also passed that test!
I also tested how well the combs detangled the roller. I spread hair of varying lengths on the floor and vacuumed it with the dry attachment. The roller is practically clean, and the combs in the attachment are doing their job well!
I also checked how the combs handled detangling the roller. We can see that the roller is clean, and the comb area is also clean. The hair protection system is effective!
I'd also like to add that the additional attachments allow you to clean a sofa, areas the main nozzle can't reach, and even the inside of a car if necessary. In short, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Dirt doesn't fall out the bottom, like with other Dreame upright vacuums. You just need to detach the dust bin, remove the filtration system, and empty the dust from the container. It's not difficult, and the key is to keep your hands away from the debris!
Personal opinion
The Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach upright vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight its pros and cons, then share my personal opinion. Here's what I liked:
- High-quality floor cleaning and dirt removal. The wet/dry vacuum cleaner demonstrated one of the best results in the project in terms of dirt removal speed.
- The roller extends to the edge of the body on both sides. Even with the blind spots caused by the locking mechanism, the vacuum cleaner cleans floors along baseboards better than many similar products.

- Complete and very fast drying of the roller with hot air.
- You can wash the floor in a horizontal position, which allows you to get under low furniture.
- The water tank is located at the bottom, so the center of gravity is shifted downwards and the vacuum cleaner is more convenient to control.
- The presence of a removable hand-held vacuum cleaner and a set of attachments for complete dry cleaning.
- High-quality waste collection on both hard surfaces and carpets.
- Effective protection against hair and fur entanglement on the roller. This applies to both wet and dry vacuum cleaners.
- In reality, the suction power is high, both in figures and according to test results.
- Automatic power increase when the vacuum cleaner detects dirt.
- Illumination of the cleaning area in the dry cleaning nozzle.
- Convenient crevice tool with flexible extension.

- Long battery life.
- Informative LED display on the body.
- Voice notifications in Russian.
- Increased capacity of water tanks.
- High quality assembly.
- Stylish design.
- Good equipment.
- Availability of warranty and service.
Cons:
- The dry vacuum cleaner is slightly heavier than its counterparts.
- There is no automatic mixing of detergent.
- There is no illumination of the cleaning area in the washing vacuum cleaner.
- There is no drive in the wheels for more convenient operation of the vacuum cleaner.
Overall, absolutely all of the comments are non-critical. Rather, they highlight differences from some premium analogs and suggestions to the brand's engineers on what could be improved to make the product even more effective and versatile.
In my opinion, this model has an interesting set of design solutions, while also being effective and user-friendly. It's definitely worth considering if you're looking for a wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
