Dadget U200: An affordable robotic window cleaner with a water spray

Gadget U200Gadget U200

This review examines the Gadget U200 robotic window cleaner. Compared to the 100, the device now features a spray function that sprays water while moving, improving window cleaning efficiency and keeping the wipers moist throughout the entire cleaning cycle. While the design has been slightly refined, the most important feature remains the same luxurious features, slim design, and competitive price. The robot is priced between $55 and $65. Below, I'll show you how the Gadget U200 is designed, how it performs, and then highlight its pros and cons, along with my personal opinion. Let's get started!

Equipment

The robot arrived in this branded box:

Testing

A detailed video review of the Gadget U200, including all tests, has already been published on the channel:

Navigation and window cleaning quality

And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll check how the U200 performs at its primary task – cleaning windows from the outside. The windows themselves were recently cleaned, but even in this condition, the difference will be noticeable. At the same time, we can also evaluate the robot's navigation.

You can see that there are no missed areas, and all the dust is collected by the wipes. The first time, it's recommended to clean all the windows with dry wipes to collect the dust and prevent it from spreading. The second time, you can turn on the automatic water supply mode to let the robot clean the windows.

Let's compare the condition of the windows before and after:

The robot was also able to clean a 38 cm wide window, while the stated minimum window size is 50 x 50 cm. So it's suitable for cleaning narrow windows as well.

There is just one caveat, typical for all robotic window cleaners on the market: the wipes are not able to physically remove dirt from corners.

Application on other surfaces

The Dajet U200 can also be used to clean other hard vertical surfaces, such as tiled walls, shower stalls and mirrors.

The situation with working on frameless surfaces deserves special attention. In my case, the robot didn't fall off the mirror, but sometimes the holder would extend close to the edge of the mirror, and it felt like it would lose its grip and the robot would fall. Overall, I don't think this model is recommended for use on frameless surfaces. Dadget representatives also don't recommend using this robotic window cleaner on frameless surfaces.

For those interested, this window cleaning robot can't function properly on horizontal surfaces, like my countertop. The movement algorithm is flawed. To be fair, most of the window cleaning robots I reviewed can't handle this task.

Emergency mode

Let me explain how the Gadget U200 operates in emergency mode. When the window cleaning robot is unplugged, it starts beeping and the red indicator on both sides of the robot flashes.

Light and sound indicators will help you quickly detect problems and remove the robot from the surface to prevent it from falling and breaking. I can't stress enough that it's essential to secure the robot with a safety rope to prevent it from falling from a height when cleaning windows from the outside.

Let's sum it up

The Dadget U200 window cleaning robot was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll summarize and share my personal opinion of the robot after using it. Here's what I liked:

  1. High-quality window cleaning for minor stains.
  2. Function of spraying liquid onto the work surface.
  3. Slim body allows the robot to be used on windows with bars.
  4. Good navigation on windows of different sizes.
  5. Suitable for washing narrow windows at least 38 cm wide.
  6. The robot's versatility. It's suitable for cleaning not only windows, but also glass doors, mirrors, and wall tiles.
  7. The package is great. For the price, a set of 20 replacement wipes and a universal brush is a great value!
  8. Affordable price.
  9. Warranty and service are included. And they offer a 3-year warranty, which is pretty cool!

As for the disadvantages, they are typical for this type of device:

  1. It doesn't wash into the corners.
  2. Does not work on horizontal surfaces.
  3. Not suitable for washing frameless surfaces.

The result is a robotic window cleaner with a basic set of features, well-equipped, and at an optimal price.

Definitely worth your attention and highly recommended. I'd like to end this review on that note. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
