Dreame Bot W10: A WASHING robot vacuum cleaner that rinses wipes at the station

Dreame Bot W10Dreame Bot W10

Hello to all readers of this site! This review examines the long-awaited robot vacuum cleaner from Dreame, a sub-brand of Xiaomi. The robot is called the Dreame Bot W10 (also known as the Dreame Bot W10 Pro, but this is incorrect). In addition to a side and center brush, the device is equipped with two rotating platforms with round cloths. These not only effectively scrub dirt from the floor but also automatically self-clean and re-wet at a special station. This station contains two separate tanks: one for clean and one for dirty water. During cleaning, the Dreame Bot W10 makes intermediate visits to the station to rinse the cloths and continue cleaning with clean, thoroughly moistened cloths. This solution is not unique; about a dozen similar models have already appeared on the market. robotic vacuum cleaners with a wipe rinsing stationBut the Dreame Bot W10 definitely has its advantages over its competitors. Below, I'll take a detailed look at and test the Dreame Bot W10, after which I'll express my opinion on whether this robot vacuum is worth buying. Its price ranges from $630 to $800. The price depends on discounts during sales season and the delivery option (express from a warehouse in Moscow or 30-45 days from China). Incidentally, the AliExpress seller where I ordered the robot provided information for my audience. promo code for a discountI've posted it at the end of the review along with a link. So, let's get started!

Equipment

The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in this large branded box:

In addition to the robot and station itself, the box contains:

  1. Side brush to be installed on the robot.
  2. Two removable mops, which also come in one set.
  3. Power adapter for connecting the station to the network.
  4. Robot cleaning tool.
  5. And the operating instructions, translated into several languages, including Russian.

The delivery set is minimal, which is a shame considering the high price.

Appearance

Let's take a look at the Dreame Bot W10's design. Let's start with the robot vacuum itself. Its body is shaped more like a D-shape, but with rounded corners. The charging terminals, which connect the robot to the base, are located on the back.

A wall sensor is located on the right side, and an obstacle detection sensor is mounted in the center of the mechanical bumper. Unfortunately, the robot lacks an object recognition system like the Dreame Z10 Pro and L10 Pro. However, one would have been useful, considering the robot is better suited for hard surfaces, where the 3D sensor performs more accurately.

The body is approximately 10.5 cm tall, a centimeter longer than most conventional lidar robots, due to the updated cleaning module.

The control panel has three mechanical buttons: start/pause, forced return to the charging base, and local cleaning mode. A lidar sensor is used for navigation. It is equipped with a spring-loaded cover to prevent it from getting stuck under furniture.

The dust container is located under the top lid. A protective flap inside prevents accidental spillage when the container is removed. The container itself holds up to 450 ml of dry waste. The filtration system consists of a mesh filter and a HEPA filter.

Let's take a look at the Dreame Bot W10's underside. Six fall protection sensors are installed around the perimeter. An ultrasonic carpet detection sensor is located at the front, near the swivel caster.

There's a single side brush: five-pointed and quick-release. Dreame engineers made the center brush longer. It still has bristles and petals. Both sides can be removed to remove tangled hair and pet hair. The brush block is floating, allowing it to better grip various floor surfaces.

Behind the turbo brush unit, we see mounting points for the cleaning pads. They are equipped with magnets, making attachment as simple and convenient as possible.

NapkinsNapkins

Napkins

There's another roller installed behind the cleaning module. It's definitely essential here. Unfortunately, the cleaning pads don't extend beyond the edges of the unit, so the robot obviously won't be able to clean floors right up to baseboards or furniture. A narrow, unwashed strip will obviously remain.

Bottom view with napkins

The Dreame Bot W10's build quality is high. All removable parts even have QR codes for quick replacement. The only disappointing aspect is the small dust bin, especially since it doesn't have a self-cleaning feature. Another issue is that the dust bins don't extend beyond the edges of the device.

Let's take a look at the design of the wipe rinsing station. It's quite large, measuring 375 x 400 x 430 mm. Under the top lid are two 4-liter tanks: one for clean and one for dirty water. The dirty water tank contains a float; when activated, the station displays a notification to empty the tank. The clean water tank contains a tube that supplies water to the wipe rinsing platform. On top, you can see a sealed lid, eliminating the need to remove the tank. You can simply pour clean water through the opening.

The top of the body features a display with two touch buttons: one for starting/stopping the cleaning process and one for forcing the robot vacuum cleaner to return to its home station. The display also shows the battery charge level and service messages. A big plus is that it's translated into Russian. Incidentally, the robot vacuum cleaner itself also speaks Russian.

Let's take a look at the wiper rinsing platform inside the station. Below the parking area for the cleaning module, we see two combs. During self-cleaning, the wipers rotate and are rinsed under running water, after which the dirty water is sucked into a dedicated tank. Rollers are installed on the sides to help the robot park, as well as locking devices. This is where the engineers at Draeme truly deserve respect!

Platform for rinsing napkinsPlatform for rinsing napkins

Platform for rinsing napkins

They thought of making the platform removable so that accumulated dirt and debris could be periodically washed away. For example, in the Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Sweeping Mopping Robot MJSTP (currently under review), the platform is non-removable and extremely difficult to clean!

We've taken a look at the Dreame Bot W10's appearance. Personally, I'm very pleased with its design so far. Let's move on!

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of the Dreame Bot W10, as stated by the manufacturer:

Battery Li-Ion 6400 mAh
Suction power Up to 4000 Pa
Cleaning area Up to 300 sq.m.
Battery life >120 min
Dust collector 450 ml
Volume of tanks for dirty and clean water (at the station) 4 l + 4 l
Obstacle clearance up to 20 mm
Dimensions of the robot 334*314*105.5 mm
Dimensions of the station 375*400*430 mm

This robot vacuum cleaner has a high-capacity battery, which is quite reasonable, since in addition to movement and suction, the rotating pads also consume power. The manufacturer doesn't specify runtime, but in my case, at medium power, it drained 20% of the battery in 30 minutes. Therefore, we can predict that it can operate for over 2 hours on a single charge. The suction power is on par with other new products in the Dreame Bot line, namely the following models: D9 Max, L10 Pro And Z10 Pro, which I previously reviewed. I'll definitely check the power on the bench during testing.

Functional capabilities

Let's move on to a review of the Dreame Bot W10's features. I received the global version of the robot vacuum for review. Therefore, it supports the Russian region and is fully localized. I encountered no connection issues. Upon first launch, a notification appeared about the need to update the firmware, which I did.

Controlling a robot vacuum cleaner via Mi HomeControlling a robot vacuum cleaner via Mi Home

Controlling a robot vacuum cleaner via Mi Home

The main control panel creates a room map and automatically divides it into rooms. Three main operating modes are displayed below the map. In Room mode, you can select the rooms you want to clean and the cleaning order. In Automatic mode, the robot vacuum cleans the entire available area along the perimeter and in a serpentine pattern. In Zone mode, you can select cleaning zones on the map using a rectangle. Unfortunately, you can't select the number of passes the robot vacuum will make per room, per zone, or per entire area. However, in tests within one room, it cleaned it in two crisscross passes. Perhaps the next software update will add the ability to select the number of passes the robot makes.

Cleaning modesCleaning modes

Cleaning modes

The Dreame Bot W10 supports virtual walls, no-go zones, and separate no-go zones for wet mopping. To the right of the map, you can select one of the cleaning modes: dry and wet, wet only, or dry only. The latter mode is activated when you remove the cleaning pads from the robot. You can also adjust the suction power and the wetness of the cleaning pad at the cleaning station, which is very convenient.

In the station settings, you can select how often the wipers are rinsed during cleaning. You can choose to rinse by area (every 5, 10, or 15 square meters) or by zone. In this case, the robot rinses the wipers before each new cleaning zone. You can also enable the wiper rinsing or drying function at the station.

Cleaning parametersCleaning parameters

Cleaning parameters

In the map management section, you can select the desired cleaning map, edit room boundaries, and name them. Yes, Dreame Bot W10 stores multiple unique maps in its memory.

Map editorMap editor

Map editor

The settings section contains the robot vacuum's main functions, which I'll list in order. First, you'll be asked to adjust the voice alert volume and select the desired language. As mentioned earlier, the Dreame Bot W10 speaks Russian.

You can also enable/disable notifications sent to your smartphone, carpet recognition, automatic increase in suction power when driving on carpets, child protection (to prevent children from using the button on the body to start the robot), resuming cleaning after recharging at the base, and the "Do Not Disturb" mode at a specified time.

Settings and functionsSettings and functions

Settings and functions

When setting up a scheduled cleaning, you can select the rooms you want to clean, the time, and days of the week. Unfortunately, you can't choose the cleaning mode or customize cleaning parameters for each room.

Additionally, in the settings section, you can view the cleaning log and consumable status, as well as enable manual control of the robot and search for it by sound. If necessary, you can also change the robot's name, share control with other family members, and update the firmware.

These are all the features of the Dreame Bot W10. Basically, the basic capabilities for automatic home cleaning are included. What's missing has already been mentioned. Also, at the time of writing, this robot is not detectable by Yandex.Alice, but I expect this feature will be added soon, given that all other models in the lineup work through Alice.

Testing

A detailed video review with all the tests has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the entire video:

Navigation

The obstacle course room navigation test was successfully completed. The Dreame Bot W10 got stuck on the legs of a dryer but was able to free itself and continue its cleaning cycle. It also managed to sweep around the legs of a chair and a box before returning to its charging base. No questions asked!

Dreame Bot W10 NavigationDreame Bot W10 Navigation

Navigating within a room

Navigation within the house was tested in dry cleaning mode to ensure the robot could navigate carpets and cover the entire accessible area. The Dreame Bot W10's navigation is excellent. It cleaned room by room, first along the perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. There were no uncleaned areas left. This test was also passed!

Suction power

In terms of suction power, the Dreame Bot W10 was able to suck up debris from crevices as deep as 2 and 4 mm. It claims to deliver 4000 Pa, the same as the Dreame Bot Z10 and L10 Pro, which were able to suck up debris from 8 and 10 mm deep, respectively.

Dreame Bot W10 Suction PowerDreame Bot W10 Suction Power

Suction power

I think it's the extended brush that's causing the power loss. But in any case, the suction power is above average and will be more than sufficient for hard floors and carpets alike.

Dry cleaning

The quality of debris collection on laminate floors is very high. The robot was able to pick up debris of various textures, including fur and hair.

Quality of waste collection on laminate flooringQuality of waste collection on laminate flooring

Quality of waste collection on laminate flooring

It also cleans corners well. It's not perfect, but it's much better than round robot vacuums. If the side brush arms were a little longer, I think it would have cleaned the entire corner.

A small amount of hair got caught on the center brush, but most of the debris was collected in the dust bin. Test passed!

Carpet cleaning

The carpet cleaning performance is also excellent. The robot was able to pick up all the debris, so there are no major issues with it. The only criticism is that the side brush is flimsy and the brush arms bend on the pile. It's clear that this robot vacuum is primarily designed for cleaning hard floors, although it can clean carpets.

Wet cleaning (wiping off dirt)

However, the cleaning performance on slightly dried-on dirt was average. Only on the third attempt, with two intermediate rinses of the wipes on the base, did the robot manage to clean the stand. And even then, there was still an unwashed area on the sides, as mentioned at the beginning of the review.

Wiping off dirtWiping off dirt

Wiping off dirt

But in any case, the main thing is that the robot doesn't smear all the collected dirt across the floor, but removes it gradually and finally wipes the floor with a clean cloth. This is a clear advantage over conventional ones. robotic vacuum cleaners for dry and wet cleaning.

Wet cleaning (removing stubborn stains)

The Dreame Bot W10 has serious problems removing tough stains, such as dried-on coffee and sauce stains. While it can remove coffee after a few tries, sauce stains are a complete disaster.

Removing difficult stainsRemoving difficult stains

Removing difficult stains

This indicates that the pressure of the napkins on the floor is not very great. For example, the same Hobot Legee 7 It removes stains much better, if we are talking specifically about the effectiveness of the cleaning module.

Wet cleaning and carpets

Regarding simultaneous dry and wet cleaning in a home with carpets, here's the situation. There's a carpet detection mode in the settings. If enabled, the robot will avoid carpets in wet cleaning mode and only clean hard surfaces.

A robot vacuum cleaner goes around the carpetA robot vacuum cleaner goes around the carpet

A robot vacuum cleaner goes around the carpet

But if for some reason you need to move the robot onto a carpet with the cleaning cloths installed, you can do so by disabling carpet recognition. Then the Dreame Bot W10 will clean it not only with brushes but also with wet cleaning cloths, which is a highly questionable decision.

The robot vacuum cleaner ran onto the carpet. The robot vacuum cleaner ran onto the carpet.

The robot vacuum cleaner ran onto the carpet.

And again, it can only access low-pile carpets. On high-pile carpets, the platform with the cleaning cloth may come loose, causing the robot to malfunction, as happened in my case.

Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning

However, a big advantage of the Dreame Bot W10 is that it can vacuum and mop the floor at the same time, while rinsing the cloths during the cleaning cycle so that the cleaning quality does not deteriorate.

To improve cleaning quality, I recommend dividing large rooms into several zones. This will allow the robot to perform several intermediate rinses of the cloth, and the zone itself can be even smaller than the 5 square meters used in standard settings.

Self-cleaning quality of wipes

Let me tell you how effectively the Dreame Bot W10 rinses wipes. After rinsing, the wipes were truly clean, although the bottom of the robot still needs manual cleaning, as does the removable platform. Fortunately, it's easily removed for periodic cleaning!

But if we're talking about household cleaning and daily wet cleaning, the station does its job well. To confirm this, I even decided to remove the wipes and rinse them in clean water. And I must say, they're practically spotless. In my opinion, the station is very effective!

Obstacle clearance

The obstacle clearance performance was impressive. Even with the cleaning pads installed, the Dreame Bot W10 was able to clear a 2-centimeter threshold. This is a major plus for the robot! However, keep in mind that the cleaning pads can sometimes become detached while negotiating obstacles, such as high-pile carpets.

Driving on dark surfaces

Unlike its siblings in the Dreame Bot W10, it's resistant to dark surfaces. That's a plus!

Noise level

In Quiet mode, the noise level is between 58-60 dB. In Standard mode, it reaches 62 dB. In Intensive Cleaning mode, the noise level increases to 64 dB, and at maximum power, the peak noise level was 68.1 dB.

Noise levelNoise level

Noise level

I can say that the noise level is not high, considering the increased suction power and the presence of two rotating cloths.

Some observations

Finally, I'll share a few observations I made while using and testing the Dreame Bot W10. First, as mentioned earlier, it's a bit short along the baseboard. Let me demonstrate this again:

The robot vacuum cleaner doesn't clean along the baseboards. The robot vacuum cleaner doesn't clean along the baseboards.

It doesn't wash along the baseboard

A full rinse cycle takes about two minutes. Drying is also included, which can take hours or more. I ran it last night, and checked the next morning, and the wipes were dry. The noise level during drying is minimal, so it certainly won't bother you.

One wipe rinse uses up to 200 ml of water. I'll compare this value later with similar models with a wipe rinsing station that I'll be reviewing.

And finally, after leaving the station, the Dreame Bot W10 takes a long time to locate itself. This issue also occurs with the Z10 Pro model with a self-cleaning station. It's not that it affects cleaning performance, but I've only encountered this issue with Dreame robots. Others find their position faster.

Personal opinion

Dreame Bot W10 has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 79 out of 100 points and at the time of preparing the review it took 4th place in ratings of robot vacuum cleaners that passed the test on robovac.washerhouse.comBefore I received this device for review, I honestly thought it would score higher, but the comments listed below affected my score. Let's take it one step at a time. I liked the following:

  1. The station has a wipe rinsing function. Moreover, the station performs its primary function very effectively.
  2. You can flexibly adjust the frequency of rinsing the wipes. For example, the Mijia Self-Cleaning Sweeping Mopping Robot MJSTP is programmed to rinse the wipes strictly every 10 square meters of cleaning, which is not very practical or convenient.
  3. The station's ease of use. This refers to the removable platform for rinsing wipes.
  4. Good navigation.
  5. High-quality dry and wet cleaning. The Dreame Bot W10 has an effective cleaning module and is even better at sweeping corners.
  6. Increased suction power.
  7. Good obstacle clearance.
  8. Full Russification. This doesn't just apply to the instructions and voice pack. Even the service messages on the station's display are translated into Russian, which is a very appealing feature.
  9. High build quality.
  10. The robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of dark surfaces.

As for the downsides, there are quite a few of them. I didn't like the following:

  1. Does not remove difficult stains.
  2. Doesn't wash the narrow area along the baseboard.
  3. Small dust collector capacity.
  4. There is no option to customize cleaning parameters for each room individually.
  5. The actual suction power is lower than stated.
  6. Overpriced.

And that's not all. I'd also like to highlight some points when comparing it to similar products that have appeared and will soon be available. In my opinion, here's what the Dreame Bot W10 lacks to confidently outperform other robot vacuum cleaners with a rinsing station:

  1. There is no object recognition system.
  2. There is no compartment for emptying waste from the dust collector.
  3. The cleaning module with cloths does not rise when driving onto carpets.

As a result, the Dreame Bot W10 left a largely positive impression. As a pioneer among robot vacuum cleaners with a rinsing function, it clearly attracted interest, and there's high hope for the further development of this and other features that will simplify robot vacuum maintenance and make them more autonomous. Wet mopping with intermediate rinsing is a truly effective solution, essential when cleaning large areas, especially on hard surfaces. And the Dreame Bot W10 handles this task to a high standard. It has its strengths and weaknesses compared to its competitors, but in any case, it deserves to be considered one of the best robot vacuum cleaners with a wet mopping function in 2022!

Obviously the price is not as exorbitant as it would be Roborock S7 MaxV And Ecovacs Deebot OMNI X1Moreover, unlike the new Ecowax robots, this one is sold in a global version, which is no less important. It remains to be seen how other new products compare: the Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Robot Vacuum-Mop Pro, which I'll be reviewing in less than a month, and the Roidmi EVA, which is expected to cost up to $800 at launch and is capable of recognizing objects on the floor and additionally emptying debris from the dust bin into a station. At least, that's what the manufacturer announced.

But if you remember Roidmi Eve Plus, which isn't as good as we'd hoped, then in the case of the EVA, if history repeats itself, it's not a given that it will be better than the Dreame Bot W10 overall. So, I recommend subscribing to the channel to stay up to date with video reviews of similar models and comparisons.

That's all from me. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!

Could you please tell me if it's possible to remove the brush so that only a gap remains for dust suction? This way, hair doesn't get tangled in the brush and goes straight into the dust collector.
Does it have some kind of brush presence controller? Does the suction power drop significantly without the brush?
It is clear that this option is only for hard surfaces, without carpets.

Good afternoon! I was considering buying a w10, but after reading and watching your reviews, I was having second thoughts. Should I get a Legee 7 or a Roborock s7, or should I wait for the more advanced Roborock versions with a cleaning and rinsing function? They'll probably only cost around 100,000 rubles. The Legee 7, as I understand it, isn't as good at dry cleaning (vacuuming), and both don't have a rinse function, as the area is large. I need dry and wet cleaning over a 200-meter area on one level. I have two low-pile rugs, one of which I remove when cleaning so I can vacuum and clean them. I have children and a short-haired cat that sheds very little. Please help me choose.

  • Vyacheslav

Hello. I bought this vacuum cleaner. Could you please tell me how to retrieve it from the service station (emptying dry debris, installing mops, etc.)? Or do I have to manually pull it out and put it back in?

  • Kirill Kolesnikov

Good afternoon! Could you please tell me the pump is making a loud grunting sound? Is this normal or is it defective?

    • Admin

I think it's defective, but I need to figure out where the sound is coming from. Maybe something's stuck somewhere and is interfering.

  • Nikolay

There was a release of version w10.
I wonder what the difference is?

    • Admin

A bumper-mounted sensor system for detecting objects on the floor. Apparently, it's the same as the Z10 Pro and L10 Pro. But it could be more accurate, like the L10s Ultra. I haven't tested it yet, so I can't say for sure.

  • Elena

Please tell me how to remove the mops, I can’t do it, I’m afraid I’ll break them.

  • Tatiana

    Have you made Alice support?

    Good afternoon

What is the difference (which is better to choose) between:
    1. Robot vacuum cleaner Dreame Bot W10 White (RLS5C);
    2. Robot vacuum cleaner Dreame W10 Pro RLS6TAC.

Except for the virtual wall sensor of the latter.

    • Admin

I haven't tested the Pro yet, but it's already on its way to review. If you're still interested, stay tuned for the review and ask again. I'll be sure to answer.

  • KOSTYA VLASENKO

    Greetings!
In your opinion, which model is better:
Hobot LEGEE-D8 or Dreame Bot W10?

  • Alla

Could you please tell me how to remove the mops after cleaning and drying? When I want to dry clean after drying, the vacuum cleaner won't come out until it washes the mops again, meaning it wets them again, and only then can I remove them.
