Proscenic P11 Smart: An updated upright vacuum cleaner with app connectivity

Proscenic P11 SmartProscenic P11 Smart

Hello to all readers of the project! This review examines the new Proscenic P11 Smart upright vacuum cleaner. I previously reviewed its predecessor. Proscenic P11 I liked this vacuum cleaner even more. The updated model has even higher suction power (30 kPa compared to 26 kPa), a new color scheme, and the ability to connect to the proprietary mobile app. This, apparently, is why it was given the Smart feature. Meanwhile, the price has jumped above $200, while the P11 remained around $160-$200. I'll be thoroughly testing the Proscenic P11 Smart below, after which I'll express my opinion on whether this cordless vacuum is worth buying. So, let's get started!

Equipment

The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:

It is compactly packed with:

  1. Main block.
  2. Extension tube.
  3. Basic floor nozzle.
  4. Nozzle for upholstered furniture.
  5. Crevice nozzle.
  6. Attachment with a brush.
  7. Wall holder.
  8. Power adapter.
  9. Kit for mounting the wall holder to the wall.
  10. Vacuum cleaner cleaning tool.
  11. Operating instructions (Russian translation not provided).

Equipment

The kit includes all the necessary accessories and attachments for operating the vacuum cleaner. However, compared to the Proscenic P11, the wet cleaning attachment has been removed, which is important to note.

Appearance

Let's take a look at the Proscenic P11 Smart's design. It comes in a combination of graphite, black, and blue. The vacuum cleaner is turned on and off by pressing the trigger. An informative display with a touch-sensitive button for adjusting the suction power is located on the end. Three modes are available: minimum power, automatic mode, and Turbo. In automatic mode, the Proscenic P11 Smart automatically increases suction power when it detects carpets.

The battery terminals for charging the vacuum cleaner on a wall mount are located on the bottom of the handle. The battery is removable, which is a plus.

The dust container is easily removed by pressing the release buttons highlighted in blue. The bottom of the container opens from below for easy emptying. The filtration system is four-layered: HEPA, foam filter, cyclone, and mesh.

Now let's look at the design of the main floor nozzle. The swivel joint improves maneuverability. A front LED light improves dust collection in low-light areas. The central brush is secured with a locking mechanism that requires no tools to remove, which is a plus. The brush has lint-free inserts. This design allows for better cleaning of carpets. Unfortunately, there is no replacement lint roller for parquet floors.

The mattress and upholstery cleaning attachment features a bristled turbo brush that can be removed by twisting a locking tab on the side. The build quality is quite affordable.

The other two attachments in the set are also quite standard in design and look budget-friendly.

We assemble the vacuum cleaner and here's what it looks like when fully assembled:

And here's how it charges on the wall mount. Unfortunately, this mount doesn't provide storage for the included attachments. You'll have to find a place for them in a cabinet or store them in the box.

Ultimately, the vacuum cleaner itself is of average build quality, consistent with its price range. Unfortunately, there are no design differences from the P11 model.

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of Proscenic P11 Smart, as declared by the manufacturer:

Power consumption 450 W
Suction power up to 30 kPa
Battery Li-Ion 2500 mAh
Battery life up to 60 minutes
Dust collector 600 ml
Weight 2.7 kg
Noise level 73-78 dB

Speaking of specifications, they're generally standard for upright vacuums in this price range. However, compared to the Proscenic P11, the suction power has increased from 26 to 30 kPa. However, the power consumption remains the same, which is surprising.

I measured the vacuum cleaner's weight myself. The main unit weighs 1,728 grams, the extension tube 221 grams, and the main floor nozzle 733 grams. In total, the fully assembled vacuum weighs 2,682 grams, which is quite standard.

Testing

And finally, let's move on to the tests. A detailed video review with all the tests has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the full review:

Battery life

First, let's check the Proscenic P11 Smart's runtime at maximum suction power. In Turbo mode, it lasted 14 minutes and 20 seconds. This is a very good result. By comparison, the P11 lasted 10 minutes and 40 seconds in the same mode. It's unclear how the engineers were able to increase the runtime so much, given that the battery capacity remained unchanged.

Noise level

As for noise levels, at minimum power, it ranges from 72.5 to 73 dB, and in Turbo mode, the noise level does not exceed 78.5 dB. Again, the noise level is lower than its predecessor, and generally not too loud for an upright vacuum cleaner.

Suction power

The Proscenic P11 Smart's actual suction power is above average. This vacuum cleaner was able to effectively suck up debris from crevices as small as 10 mm. This is sufficient for household cleaning and maintaining a clean home.

Suction power

The Proscenic P11 performed slightly worse in this task and only partially sucked out debris from a 10 mm gap, although it can handle 8 mm.

Quality of cleaning

There are no complaints about the dust collection performance on hard floors. The Proscenic P11 Smart was able to clean the floor of pet hair, hair, and various household debris. It's important to note that there are no problem areas beyond the reach of the brush. The device even cleaned corners and the area along the baseboard. Hair got tangled in the brush, but it can be easily removed with the included cleaning tool. The majority of the debris is collected in the dust bin.

This upright vacuum also handles carpet cleaning without any problems. However, there's a problem I mentioned in my review of the P11.

Carpet cleaning

In Auto mode, the main nozzle doesn't always detect carpets. This is due to the way this feature is implemented. To increase power, there needs to be sufficient resistance to the central brush, which is typical for fluffy carpets. Therefore, Auto mode generally works well on high-pile carpets, but on carpeted and low-pile rugs, it doesn't always increase power, which is important to keep in mind.

Using the other included attachments, you can clean upholstery, joints, and other areas. Even the car's interior. The battery lasts long enough to completely clean the seats, floor mats, and trunk.

The last thing I'd like to demonstrate is connecting the vacuum cleaner to the app (via Bluetooth). In the app, you can monitor the filter status and view cleaning statistics.

I wouldn't say this is a particularly important feature or that it improves cleaning efficiency or ease of use. It's more of a marketing ploy.

Let's sum it up

The Proscenic P11 Smart upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll share my personal opinion on this device. I liked the following:

  1. High quality waste collection.
  2. Increased suction power.
  3. Removable battery.
  4. Charging on a wall holder.
  5. Informative LED display on the body.
  6. Long working time.
  7. The presence of a backlight on the main nozzle.

There are only two complaints about the vacuum cleaner: the automatic power increase function when detecting carpets does not work correctly, and there is no provision for storing the included attachments on the wall holder.

Otherwise, the cordless vacuum cleaner leaves no doubt and can be recommended for purchase if the price is reasonable (up to $200). It's more powerful, more autonomous, and quieter than its predecessor, which indicates that the engineers have done a great job improving the product.
