RedRoad V17: Upright vacuum cleaner with dual turbo brush and full set of attachments

In this review, I'll be looking at a new upright vacuum cleaner from AliExpress called the RedRoad V17. This vacuum currently retails for around $320. For that price, the manufacturer offers a cordless vacuum with a full set of attachments, as well as an unusual floor nozzle consisting of two differently designed turbo brushes rotating in opposite directions. I'll then thoroughly test the RedRoad V17 and express my opinion on whether it's worth buying. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The RedRoad V17 arrived in this branded box:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Floor nozzle.
- Two spare turbo brushes for this attachment.
- Extension tube.
- Wall holder for vacuum cleaner and accessories.
- Includes operating instructions with translation into Russian.
- Fastener for wall holder.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Soft bristle attachment.
- Extension in the form of a flexible hose.
- Extension cord with folding elbow.
- Brush with sliding bristles.
- Nozzle for cleaning upholstered furniture.
- Power adapter for charging the vacuum cleaner.
As you can see, the package is very comprehensive. That's a plus.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the RedRoad V17's design. Let's start with the main unit. The handle features a familiar trigger for turning the suction on and off. A conveniently located display on the end houses a mechanical button. Pressing this button changes the power level. Holding this button down locks the trigger in the on position, eliminating the need to hold it down while using the vacuum.
The battery is removable. Next to the battery release button is the charger port.
The blow-out HEPA filter is removed from the top by twisting it. The manufacturer allows it to be washed with water, but be sure to dry it thoroughly before replacing it.
The dust container holds up to 600 ml of dry waste. A brush located underneath is convenient for clearing debris and dust from the dust container.
The flask opens through the bottom with the press of a button. The cyclone and mesh are detachable for easy maintenance.
Now let's look at the included attachments. Let's start with the main floor nozzle. It features LED lighting. The nozzle has two rollers: a fluffy one with soft bristles and a bristly one with firm bristles. Between the rollers is a suction channel. The rollers are easily removed with the press of a button. They also detach for cleaning out tangled hair and pet hair.
As for the other attachments, they all feature mechanical locks. The upholstery brush can be removed from the side, allowing the turbo brush to be cleared of tangled hair and fur. However, to turn the lock, you'll need a flat-head screwdriver or, for example, a coin. The 2-in-1 brush has retractable bristles. The standard soft-bristled brush head is suitable for delicate cleaning.
I'd also like to give special attention to the crevice tool. It's equipped with a light, which really helps you pick up debris more thoroughly in hard-to-reach, dimly lit areas. This is the first time I've seen such a solution, and I must admit, I'm quite impressed.
What I didn't like was the quality of the vacuum cleaner's paintwork. Paint runs are visible on every part. The vacuum itself seems well-designed, but these runs make it look cheap, which isn't good for a $300 vacuum cleaner.
Oh, and by the way, the wall mount deserves special attention. It's super cool.
Firstly, it accommodates all the included attachments and connectors. Secondly, it conveniently charges the vacuum cleaner using a wall-mounted holder. And thirdly, it even has a second charging port for a replaceable battery, should you decide to purchase one to extend the vacuum cleaner's runtime.
Technical specifications
Let's review the RedRoad V17's manufacturer-provided specifications. They are summarized in the table below:
| Power consumption | 450 W |
| Suction power | ≈155 aW (26.5 kPa) |
| Battery | Li-Ion 2500 mAh |
| Battery life | up to 60 minutes |
| Dust collector | 600 ml |
| Weight | 2.7 kg |
| Noise level | 73-77 dB |
It's worth noting that the noise level and weight figures are based on personal testing. For example, the main unit weighs 1,659 grams, the main floor nozzle weighs 806 grams, and the extension wand weighs 286 grams. This brings the total weight of the complete vacuum cleaner to 2,751 grams, which is slightly above average. However, the center of gravity is strategically positioned, so your hand won't get tired while using it.
As for noise levels, at minimum power, it ranges from 73.5 to 74.5 dB, rising slightly to 75 dB at medium power, and in Turbo mode, reaching around 77 dB. The RedRoad V17's noise level is quite standard for a cordless vacuum cleaner.
Testing
And finally, let's move on to the tests. A detailed video review with all the tests has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the full review:
Opening hours
First, let's check the RedRoad V17's battery life in maximum power mode. This cordless vacuum cleaner can run for up to 12.5 minutes in Turbo mode. This is slightly longer than most other upright vacuums.
Suction power
The RedRoad V17's actual suction power is above average. It was able to vacuum debris from a 10mm gap, which isn't possible for all cordless vacuums, but for some reason it wasn't able to partially vacuum debris from 2, 4, and 6mm gaps. So, it's not the most powerful vacuum cleaner; in fact, its stated power is 25% lower than that of some flagship cordless vacuums.
Quality of waste collection
The RedRoad V17's dust collection performance on hard surfaces is excellent. It can pick up a wide range of debris. It also cleans floors along walls well, but there's a small blind spot in corners where it can't vacuum up clogged debris. However, this blind spot is minimal.
The carpet cleaning performance is just as high, as is the tile floor cleaning. But there's one caveat—and that's the first serious criticism I have about the vacuum.
The opening between the rollers is a bit narrow, so when picking up a large amount of debris, large particles, or, for example, hair, the opening immediately becomes clogged, requiring manual pushing. While you might not encounter this problem in everyday use, it's certainly an oversight on the manufacturer's part.
I think you'll figure out how to use the other attachments yourself. There are plenty of them, and they're suitable for a variety of tasks.
Let's sum it up
The RedRoad V17 was thoroughly reviewed and tested. What can I say about this upright vacuum cleaner? Here's what I liked:
- A large selection of attachments and extensions included.
- Ergonomic design of the main unit.
- High-quality cleaning of both carpets and hard surfaces thanks to the different brush structures in the main nozzle.
- Removable battery.
- Very convenient wall holder with charging function.
- Long working time.
- LED illumination of the main and crevice nozzles.
Well, as for the disadvantages, I didn’t like only two things:
- Paint drips on all parts, which cheapens the appearance of the vacuum cleaner.
- The main nozzle has a narrow suction hole that becomes clogged when debris accumulates.
But I can say that for me personally, these issues are, shall we say, important and left a rather unfavorable impression of a $300 vacuum cleaner. Perhaps for others, they won't be significant and won't be a deal-breaker. It's up to you to decide whether to buy the RedRoad V17. The vacuum does have its strengths, and if there's a good discount and it's priced under $200, I think you might consider it.
