Xrobot X1

The Chinese-made Xrobot X1 robot vacuum cleaner is designed for both dry cleaning of all types of hard surfaces and short-pile carpets, as well as wet mopping of floors. Previously, customers complained about the wet cleaning performance of Xrobot robots due to the extremely small cleaning cloth. However, the new X1 model features a full-size cleaning cloth that is automatically mopped during the cleaning process. To do this, you need to add water to the special tank beforehand. Testing showed that the device handles small crumbs and dust well, as well as hair and fur. Despite being in the mid-price range (approximately $140 in 2018), it has good features and functionality, which we will describe in today's Xrobot Smart Cleaner X1 review.

Design
The robot vacuum cleaner is designed in the best traditions of this type of technology. Its body appears round when viewed from above, but the Xrobot X1 retains the familiar puck-shaped form. The body is made of black plastic, with no frills in the robot's design. The top panel houses the dust bin cover, a control panel with touch buttons, and an infrared receiver.
The side section has a protective bumper, a switch, a power connector, and ventilation holes.
The bottom of the robot vacuum cleaner contains two drive wheels, a front turning wheel, a pair of side brushes, a suction window, contact pads for automatic charging on the docking station, a battery cover, and a UV lamp. A cleaning module with a microfiber cloth is also installed here.
Also installed around the perimeter of the device are sensors necessary for spatial orientation, preventing collisions with obstacles and preventing falls from heights.

Functional capabilities
The robot vacuum cleaner can operate in five main modes:
- Automatic – the robot vacuum cleaner automatically removes debris from the floor and optimizes its cleaning route according to environmental conditions.
- Spot cleaning mode – the robot thoroughly cleans a small, particularly dirty area. You must manually position the device in these areas.
- Edge cleaning - Xrobot X1 picks up dirt around the edges of rooms, including corners.
- Zigzag cleaning – effective cleaning of the floor in a zigzag pattern.
- Scheduled – you can schedule the robot vacuum cleaner to start in advance.
The Xrobot X1 can also be controlled manually using the remote control. It operates using two rotating side brushes and a suction port. The suction directs debris into a special container with a fine filter, which helps clean the surrounding air.
You can limit the robot vacuum's cleaning area using the included virtual wall. Additional useful features include an ultraviolet lamp that can disinfect surfaces and a cleaning unit for automatic wet wiping. The effectiveness of the UV lamp hasn't been proven, but it's certainly a useful feature.
Operating instructions
The Xrobot X1 robot vacuum cleaner user manual is included with the basic components. It provides a helpful overview of the device's basic parameters, operation, storage, and maintenance. It also lists the most common robot errors and troubleshooting tips.
