NEW robot vacuum cleaners for January 2024: a review of the most anticipated flagships

NEW robot vacuum cleaners for 2024: a review of the most anticipated flagshipsNEW robot vacuum cleaners for 2024: a review of the most anticipated flagships

Even though less than a month has passed since the beginning of the year, many leading robot vacuum manufacturers have already announced new products that are definitely worth checking out in 2024. The best new robot vacuums were unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which took place from January 9 to 12, 2024, in Las Vegas. However, some robots weren't showcased there, despite being noteworthy. So, I decided to tell you about the new robot vacuums that will appear in 2024. So, let's get started!

Roborock's New Products for 2024

Roborock demonstrated its most innovative robot at CES 2024, announcing the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, a simplified version Roborock S8 Max Ultra, as well as Roborock Q Revo MaxV and Roborock Q Revo Pro robots.

A brief overview of the new products has already been published on the website, and Roborock engineers have managed to surprise. They've implemented baseboard cleaning for robots and upright vacuum cleaners, new suction power records (reaching 10,000 Pa for the flagship robot vacuum), updated stations, an updated object recognition system, and new app functionality. In short, Roborock, after a relative lull in 2023, made a spectacular comeback in early 2024, which means the engineers have done a fantastic job.

The new products are scheduled to go on sale in April 2024. The most expensive in the lineup is the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, priced at $1,800. The Roborock Q Revo MaxV will start at $1,119, while prices for the remaining models have not yet been announced.

Dreame's 2024 New Products

Roborock's main competitor, Dreame, also announced several new products. At CES 2024, the new flagship Dreame Bot X30 Ultra was unveiled, a review of which is available in Pro versions was published back in early December.

Dreame Bot X30 Ultra

I didn't find any differences between the Ultra and Pro versions. But the robot itself is truly impressive. It comes with a fully functional station, boasting powerful suction, a brush with a detangling blade, a floor recognition system, and a retractable cleaning cloth holder. The launch price is $1,700, and you can pre-order it now for $1,240. That's a pretty good discount!

In addition, the Dreame Bot L10s Pro Ultra was announced, which is an updated version of one of the best-selling robot vacuum cleaners of 2023 – Dreame Bot L10s UltraWe've added a pull-out baseboard wipe holder, hot water wipe wash, increased wipe lift on carpets, and increased suction power. Overall, it's an interesting upgrade. That's according to the official announcements.

Dreame has released a new model, the Dreame Bot X40 Ultra, for the Chinese market, but very little information is available. The only thing that's clear is that the side brush likely extends out from the corner, similar to the new Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. And according to unconfirmed reports, the suction power has been increased to 10,500 Pa. However, this information is unofficial, so we're still waiting for more news.

The very interesting Dreame MOVA G30 Ultra, featuring a cleaning module consisting of a rotating cloth on two rollers, and the Dreame Bot S10 Pro Ultra with a compact station for connecting to a drain or water supply, were also released for the Chinese market. Information is still scant, and all that is unconfirmed, so we're just waiting for official news.

In addition to the robot vacuum, Dreame also announced a robotic lawn mower at CES 2024, the Dreame Roboticmower A1. This device features artificial intelligence for precise and safe lawn mowing, app control, and a precise navigation system. Sales are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2024. Pricing has not yet been announced.

Lydsto W2 Edge

Lydsto, which also makes robot vacuum cleaners, has released its new flagship, the Lydsto W2 Edge. Incidentally, it's already on sale and arrived for review.

Lydsto W2 Edge

Visually, the robot is identical to the previously released Lydsto W2. The station is also seemingly identical. But there are differences. First, the cleaning cloths are now washed with hot water. There's even a hot air drying option after the wash cycle. Second, like the Dreame and Roborock, the cleaning cloth extends to the edge of the body, eliminating the blind spot between the edge of the cleaning cloth and the baseboard. And third, the cleaning cloths automatically lift when entering a carpet, a feature sorely lacking in the previously released Lydsto W2. Suction power has also been increased, now reaching 8000 Pa.

Overall, it's a decent option, but it all depends on the price. It currently starts at $740. For those prices, it's not the best robot, but it can still compete with Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Mijia M30 Pro

Speaking of Xiaomi, their new flagship was announced at the end of 2023. The model is called Xiaomi Mijia M30 Pro.

The key feature is the ability to cut hair wrapped around the central brush directly at the station. This approach is unique and, I hope, effective. The front bumper features an obstacle detection and accurate avoidance system with nighttime illumination. There's also a carpet cleaning pad lift function and a fully autonomous station where the robot washes and dries the pads, self-cleans, and even self-cleans the turbo brush of hair and fur.

Eureka J20

Home appliance brand Eureka, owned by Chinese company Midea Group, has announced its new flagship robot vacuum cleaner, called the Eureka J20.

Eureka J20

Its key feature is a self-cleaning cloth rotating on two rollers. Clean water is supplied to the cloth as it cleans the floor. Dirty water and debris are scraped into a separate dirty water tank. This ensures the cloth is always clean without the need to return to the station. Dust is collected by a side and center brush. At the station, the Eureka J20 self-cleans not only the dust bin but also the turbo brush. The cloth is also washed and dried with warm air at the station. The robot's navigation system uses lidar and a sensor system on the front bumper, allowing the Eureka J20 to carefully navigate around objects on the floor.

The result is an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner with a unique cleaning module and a modern navigation system. Prices abroad start at $1,400.

Ecovacs New Products 2024

Ecovacs announced three new products at CES 2024: a robot vacuum and upright vacuum combo called the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo, a robot window cleaner called the Ecovacs WINBOT W2 OMNI, and a robot lawn mower called the ECOVACS GOAT GX-60.

As for the robot vacuum, it's the updated Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni, which we've already reviewed. Its docking station has been upgraded with a storage and self-cleaning station for the upright vacuum, which comes with spot cleaning attachments: a crevice tool, a brush head with retractable bristles, and a turbo brush attachment for upholstery cleaning. This tandem setup allows you to fully cover all your household cleaning needs with a single device.

The Ecovacs WINBOT W2 OMNI represents a breakthrough in the underdeveloped robotic window cleaning market. It features a portable, self-contained station, allowing the robot to operate autonomously for up to 110 minutes without being plugged into a power outlet. Furthermore, the station automatically rewinds and unwinds the cord, which is connected to a safety tether, and can be used to store all accessories. The robot itself features automatic water supply via nozzles, an updated fall protection system, and is controlled via a proprietary app.

As for the robotic lawn mower, its key feature is the integration of an AI-powered camera for detecting lawn edges and gently brushing against objects. Furthermore, unlike most other models on the market, the ECOVACS GOAT GX-60 can clean along a planned route rather than simply wandering randomly across the lawn, and is also controlled via a proprietary app. Overall, it's clear that 2023 saw some work on new products, but no significant breakthroughs. Still minor refinements.

Eufy Clean X10 Pro Omni

Eufy has released its flagship robot vacuum cleaner for 2024, called the Eufy Clean X10 Pro Omni.

The promotional video shows it's equipped with a system of sensors and cameras to accurately navigate objects on the floor, a suction power of up to 8000 Pa, and a station where the robot washes cloths, dries them with hot air, and self-empties the dust bin. This is another fully automated cleaning machine from a proven brand. According to unconfirmed reports, international sales are planned for February 2024, with an estimated price starting at $800.

iRobot Roomba Combo j9+

One of the best robot vacuum cleaner manufacturers, iRobot, also showcased its new flagship product, the iRobot Roomba Combo j9+.

The robot is equipped with a station that can self-clean and refill its tank with clean water. It also features an object avoidance system and two silicone tube brushes that make cleaning hair and pet hair easier. The device starts at $1,400 and will go on sale in late 2023.

Narwal Freo X Ultra

And the latest new product on the robot vacuum cleaner market, which was presented at CES 2024, is the Narwal Freo X Ultra robotic mop.

Narwal Freo X UltraNarwal Freo X Ultra

Narwal Freo X Ultra

It's equipped with a lidar sensor system for precise floor navigation, a cloth lift system for carpet cleaning, and suction power of up to 8200 Pa. The cleaning module features a central bristle-and-petal brush, two side brushes, and two rotating microfiber cloths. The cloths are capable of cleaning floors right up to baseboards.

Interestingly, the robot apparently collects waste in a disposable bag, which is simply replaced with a new one. The bag automatically compresses the waste, extending its lifespan. At the Narwal Freo X Ultra station, it washes the wipes, automatically mixes in detergent, and dries them with warm air. The initial price is $1,100. Official sales are planned for March 2024.

These are all the new products announced at CES 2024. If we missed any robots, let us know in the comments! We see that the market is still actively developing, and manufacturers are striving to offer solutions that improve the efficiency, autonomy, and ease of use of robotic vacuum cleaners.

Finally, I recommend watching the video version of this publication on the channel:
