iBoto Aqua X220G: A budget-friendly robot vacuum cleaner for combined dry and wet cleaning

iBoto has added a new robotic vacuum cleaner, the Aqua X220G, which can simultaneously dry and wet clean all types of smooth flooring. This robot uses a gyroscope and infrared (IR) sensors for spatial orientation and offers multiple operating modes. It also features a separate water tank and a 2000 mAh lithium battery. We'll discuss the performance characteristics and features of the iBoto Aqua X220G robotic vacuum cleaner in more detail later in this review.
Equipment
The iBoto Aqua X220G is shipped in a branded cardboard box with a plastic handle for easy transport. The packaging features an image of the robot and a description of its operating parameters.
Delivery set:
- Robot vacuum cleaner.
- Charging dock.
- Network power adapter.
- Remote control.
- Module for wet floor cleaning.
- Spare side brushes (2 pcs.).
- Additional microfiber cloth.
- HEPA filter.
- Operating instructions.
Appearance
The iBoto Aqua X220G features a traditional, round design made of durable black plastic. Its compact dimensions (300 mm diagonally and 75 mm high) allow the robot vacuum to fit under furniture and avoid getting stuck when cleaning debris in hard-to-reach areas.
When viewing the vacuum cleaner from above, we see a single "Auto" control button for automatic start-up, the manufacturer's logo, and a lid underneath which is a waste container with a 250-milliliter HEPA filter.
The front of the robot vacuum cleaner features a soft bumper equipped with IR sensors to prevent collisions with surrounding objects. On the back is a power button and a charging port for charging the battery directly via a power adapter.
The iBoto Aqua X220G robot's undercarriage consists of two drive wheels and a front support roller. It also houses contact plates for automatically recharging the battery on the base, the battery compartment itself, cliff sensors, a pair of side brushes, and a suction port. A wet floor cleaning module is also mounted on the undercarriage using special fasteners.
Technical specifications
The table provides a brief overview of the iBoto Aqua X220G's characteristics:
| Type of cleaning | Dry and wet (simultaneously) |
| Power supply | Li-Ion battery |
| Battery capacity | 2000 mAh |
| Opening hours | 1.5-2 hours |
| Charging time | 3-4 hours |
| Maximum cleaning area | 90 m2 |
| Suction power | 40 W |
| Overcoming thresholds | Up to 15 mm |
| Dust container type | Container (cyclone) |
| Dust collector capacity | 250 ml |
| Water tank capacity | 120 ml |
| Dimensions | 300×300×75 mm |

The robot is equipped with a 2000 mAh lithium-ion battery, allowing it to operate autonomously for 90-120 minutes. If the battery discharges to 20% or less during operation, the iBoto Aqua X220G automatically returns to the charging base, and after recharging, it continues cleaning.
Functional capabilities
The robot navigates its surroundings using a built-in gyroscope and IR sensors. The gyroscope, in particular, significantly improves the iBoto Aqua X220G's navigation by detecting its current position in the room. The sensors prevent collisions with surrounding objects and protect them and the robot vacuum cleaner itself from damage. The downward-facing height sensors measure the distance to the floor: if the distance increases (on stairs), the robot will simply turn around and move in the opposite direction to prevent tipping over and falling.
Let's move on to an overview of the iBoto Aqua X220G's cleaning process. This robotic vacuum cleaner can simultaneously perform dry and wet cleaning of the floor surface. This is its main feature. Dry cleaning is performed by a pair of side brushes, which sweep debris toward the suction opening, through which it is directed into the dust bin and passed along with the air through the filtration system. The iBoto Aqua X220G does not have a turbo brush. For wet mopping of the floor, a small 120-milliliter water reservoir is located in the dust collector. This robotic vacuum cleaner has a 2-in-1 tank for dry and wet cleaning. The cleaning cloth is automatically mopped during cleaning, so there is no need to wet it manually.
iBoto Aqua X220G can move along 4 trajectories:
- straight line
- zigzag;
- spiral
- along the walls.
The robot vacuum cleaner is controlled using a button on the body (start) and a remote control. The remote control allows you to select a cleaning mode, force the iBoto Aqua X220G to point toward the docking station, set the runtime, select a path, or manually control the robot using the arrows.
Overview of the main operating modes of the iBoto Aqua X220G robot vacuum cleaner:
- auto;
- around the perimeter;
- local;
- maximum.
Operating instructions
Before using your robot vacuum cleaner for the first time, we strongly recommend reading the manufacturer's instructions. These instructions include operating instructions, care and maintenance tips, and troubleshooting steps for basic problems.

That concludes our robot vacuum review. Overall, it's a pretty impressive model for the price. Finally, we recommend watching our video review of the iBoto Aqua X220G and cleaning test:
Analogues:

It's great in every way, but there are a lot of reviews about charging issues. Mine actually lasted about 40 minutes at full charge, and it took 10 hours to charge, but replacing the battery didn't help. Otherwise, it would be great, especially considering the price. While powerful enough for smooth floors, it struggles with soft surfaces and rugs.
I wonder what you mean by "review." There's no mention of how to activate the different cleaning modes. It's also not in the instructions, in case you missed it. Let's just say there's no mention of wet cleaning. It's impossible to insert a battery into the remote control; I've never seen an access door like that. Your video is pretty much useless for homeowners.
