iLIFE H80: An affordable upright vacuum cleaner with a telescopic tube and lighting

This review examines the affordable iLIFE H80 upright vacuum cleaner. Its price range is between $80 and $130. For this price, the device features a universal turbo brush for various floor surfaces, a cleaning zone light, suction power of up to 22,000 Pascal, a telescopic extension wand, and two additional attachments for spot cleaning. Overall, it's a good value for the price. So, I thoroughly tested the iLIFE H80, highlighted its pros and cons, and then shared my opinion. Let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Extension tube.
- Basic floor nozzle.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Wall holder with fasteners.
- Charger.
- Operating instructions translated into Russian.
The only thing missing to be completely happy is a motorized brush attachment for cleaning upholstered furniture, but this is a rarity in the budget price segment.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the iLIFE H80's design. It's gray and houses a 180-watt motor that generates suction power of up to 22,000 Pa.
The battery is removable, which is a plus. The vacuum cleaner is charged through a port under the handle.
It turns on and off by pressing the button under your thumb. You don't need to hold it down. There's no display. On top, there's a button for switching operating modes. There are two: standard and maximum. There's also a battery charge indicator.
A HEPA filter is located under the lid on top. The dust bin is removable, which is a plus. It's emptied by pressing a button that opens the bottom, allowing the debris to fall out. Inside the dust bin is a foam filter and mesh. It features a simple cyclone system. However, it's inconvenient that this cyclone can't be removed from the flask to shake out any debris stuck inside.
Let's look at the attachments included in the kit.
The main floor nozzle features a swivel joint and a front-mounted light that illuminates the cleaning area.
A roller with bristle inserts. This design is more versatile: it's suitable for picking up debris on both carpets and hard surfaces. The roller is removed by releasing the locking mechanism; no additional tools are required. Incidentally, there are special grooves in front of it for larger debris.
The brush head and crevice tool are quite standard in design.
The telescopic extension tube deserves special attention. This allows you to adjust the vacuum cleaner's height to suit your height.
Well, here's what the iLIFE H80 looks like when fully assembled:
I would also like to point out that vertical parking is also provided, which is also a very convenient solution.
All the pros and cons of the design will be discussed during the final review. Let's move on!
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the iLIFE H80, as stated by the manufacturer, are displayed on the screen:
- Power consumption: 180 W.
- Suction power up to 22 kPa.
- Li-Ion battery 2200 mAh.
- Operating time up to 35 min.
- Dust collector: 550 ml.
- Noise level 72.5-77 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.27 kg.
The noise level was personally tested and is within the range of 72.5-77 dB, which is a completely standard indicator.
The main unit weighs 1,404 grams, the extension tube weighs 315 grams, and the main floor nozzle weighs 549 grams. The fully assembled vacuum weighs 2,268 grams. It's lighter than most similar vacuums, which is a significant factor for many.
Testing
A detailed video review with all tests has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the iLIFE H80's battery life in Turbo mode with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed 13 minutes and 31 seconds of runtime, which is generally a good result. The standard runtime for cordless vacuum cleaners is between 10 and 12 minutes.
Suction power
Regarding suction power, the vacuum cleaner was able to suck up debris from crevices up to 6 mm deep at standard power, and partially from crevices up to 10 mm deep on the simplest setting. At maximum power, it completely cleaned a 10 mm crevice. At the same power, it was able to get through crevices up to 20 mm deep. I'd say the vacuum cleaner's suction power is actually about average, perhaps even slightly stronger.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the iLIFE H80 picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. Using this vacuum, I completely cleaned the entire benchtop. It's important to note that it has no blind spot in the corner, which is a plus.
Carpet cleaning
The iLIFE H80 also does a good job of cleaning carpets, both low-pile and medium-pile. However, large debris sometimes blocked the turbo brush, requiring manual removal to continue cleaning.
And here is the condition of the turbo brush after all the tests:
You can see that the bristle inserts get caught in fur and hair, so the brush will have to be cleaned manually.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the two additional attachments allow you to clean a sofa, areas the main attachment can't reach, and even the inside of a car. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom. If hair or fur gets stuck in the bin, you can remove the dust bin for easier emptying. However, since the cyclone isn't removable, you can't shake the debris out through the top, which isn't very convenient.
Personal opinion
The iLIFE H80 upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight the pros and cons I discovered while preparing the review, and then share my thoughts on it. I liked the following:
- Good quality of waste collection on different surfaces.
- The operating time is longer than many similar ones.
- Removable battery.
- Illumination of the cleaning area.
- The dust collector is removable, allowing it to be washed in water.
- Telescopic extension tube.
- Vertical parking is supported.
- Light weight.
- Ergonomic design. The vacuum cleaner is easy to operate with one hand.
- Optimal price.
Among the disadvantages I would highlight:
- The cyclone cannot be removed from the dust container.
- No display.
- There is no turbo brush attachment for cleaning mattresses and upholstered furniture.
- Large debris may block the turbo brush.
Overall, the above comments aren't critical, and some of them are typical of the price segment. Therefore, I see no compelling reason not to recommend this cordless vacuum. For its price, it's very competitive, which is why it earned a high spot in the ranking of the best upright vacuums under $100.
I'd like to end this review on that note. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments below the video. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
