The latest new product we've received for review is the iLIFE V80 Pro robot vacuum cleaner. Unlike iLIFE A80 ProUnlike the previously reviewed iLIFE V80 Pro, this model features a center suction port instead of a bristle-and-petal brush. As a result, the robot requires less maintenance and is better suited for hard floors. While the price can reach up to $200, during the sale, you can get it for just $130, which is even more appealing. So, let's take a look at the iLIFE V80 Pro's design, its features and functions, and, most importantly, how it performs its primary function.

Equipment

The robot is packed in a branded box, which contains:

  1. Charging base with power adapter.
  2. Separate water tank with built-in microfiber cloth.
  3. Warranty card and instructions in Russian and English.
  4. Spare microfiber cloth.
  5. Remote control with two batteries.
  6. 2 spare side brushes.
  7. Brush for cleaning the dust collector.
  8. Spare HEPA filter.

The kit is missing a movement limiter, but all consumables and accessories are included.

Appearance

The iLIFE V80 Pro features a traditional round shape and a metallic gray finish. The top of the device features a control panel with a display and the company logo. This model features gyroscope-based navigation, and a soft-touch mechanical bumper on the front.

The dust container is removable from the rear. It's quite roomy, holding 750 ml. It's not washable. The filter is mounted on top. The filtration system uses a HEPA filter, foam filter, and mesh filter. The front lid opens for dust removal, revealing the internal motor underneath, which is why the container isn't washable. A water tank can be installed in place of the dust collector. It also cannot be rinsed with water. Inside, we see a pump for electronically controlling the water flow. The tank holds up to 300 ml of liquid; there is no waste collection compartment. The cleaning cloth is attached to the tank with Velcro and elastic bands.

Let's take a look at the iLIFE V80 Pro's underside. We see two side brushes and a suction module that opens for maintenance. Three fall protection sensors are also mounted underneath. That's all there is to the robot's design. The build quality is average, as is the price range.

Control via appControl via app

Control via app

In the iLIFE app, the robot creates a real-time map of the room but doesn't store it in memory. In the main settings, you can change the robot vacuum's name, set up scheduled cleaning, view cleaning history, track the status of consumables, smoothly adjust the suction power, select the water flow rate on the cleaning cloth, and choose the cleaning mode. You can also enable the robot's sound detection feature and perform a factory reset.

From the main control panel, you can return the robot to the charging base, start automatic cleaning mode, and enable manual control of the robot vacuum. With manual control, you can manually direct the iLIFE V80 PRO to the desired cleaning area, set maximum suction power, enable perimeter cleaning, spot cleaning, or schedule cleaning. These are all the robot's capabilities.

Using the remote control, you can manually direct the robot vacuum cleaner to the desired location, start and pause the cleaning cycle, select one of three operating modes, force the robot to return to the charging base, adjust the suction power, and activate an additional classic mode, which the manufacturer recommends for cleaning carpets.

Testing

Let's move on to the tests. We recommend watching the iLIFE V80 PRO video review to see everything in detail:

Navigation

First, let's test the iLIFE V80 PRO's navigation in a room with obstacles. The robot traversed the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern. It didn't get stuck around the chair legs or the box. It didn't get stuck on the clothes dryer, but it didn't get stuck around the perimeter after traversing the entire accessible area. Overall, the navigation is standard for robots with a gyroscope. The device passed the test.

Navigating within a room

Let's make the task more challenging and test how the iLIFE V80 PRO can navigate the entire house. In our case, this includes five rooms with a total usable area of approximately 34 square meters. Initially, when moving from one room to another, the map got lost and had to be rebuilt, but after that, the robot was able to fully construct the map and traverse the entire accessible area. The map was not accurate, but the room geometry largely matched.

The iLIFE V80 PRO cleaned the area in just 35 minutes, which is a good speed. However, the iLIFE A80 Pro is slightly faster, cleaning the same area in 33 minutes.

Suction power

Regarding the iLIFE V80 PRO's suction power, this robot vacuum cleaner can vacuum debris from crevices up to 8 mm deep, which is a very impressive result. This result is achieved by eliminating the central brush, which doesn't block suction, and by installing the motor in the dust bin.

Dry cleaning of laminate flooring

Now let's test how the iLIFE V80 PRO picks up debris on laminate flooring. The test setup was scattered with wool, hair, grains, and ground coffee in the corners to simulate dust.

Dry cleaning of laminate flooring

After cleaning, debris remained only in the corners, which is normal for round robotic vacuums. Most of the debris was collected in the dust bin, and some hair was caught on the side brushes.

Cleaning the carpet

The same debris was scattered on the carpet. The iLIFE V80 PRO cleaned it well, but some hair and fur remained. This is due to the lack of a central brush. As mentioned at the beginning of the review, this model is better suited for cleaning hard floors.

Wet cleaning

The next test will show whether the robot can remove dirt from the floor. The dirt was slightly dried. The robot vacuum removed almost all the dirt from the floor, but some traces remained, including along the baseboard, where most robots fail. The wet cleaning performance was average.

Wet cleaningWet cleaning

Wet cleaning

In any case, the iLIFE V80 PRO's wet cleaning function is more suitable for gently wiping floors of dust and light dirt. The tank is large enough to last the entire cleaning cycle.

Obstacle clearance

The manufacturer claims a maximum cross-country ability of 15 mm. And indeed, this is true. The robot can cross thresholds of 10 and 15 mm. However, it can't handle a 20 mm threshold. Its cross-country ability isn't the best among robots.

Driving on dark surfaces

But the robot is not afraid of dark surfaces and can move freely on them without recognizing changes in height, which is a plus.

Noise level

Finally, let's check the iLIFE V80 PRO's noise level in different modes. In floor polishing mode, the noise level is approximately 56 dB. At minimum power, it reaches 68 dB, and at maximum power, it doesn't exceed 72 dB, as stated by the manufacturer.

Noise level

The noise level is a little higher than most robot vacuum cleaners, but this is due to the high suction power, which is also higher.

Let's sum it up

The iLIFE V80 PRO has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system the robot was able to type 46 and 100 points This is a good result for a robot vacuum cleaner with a gyroscope. By comparison, the similar A80 Pro scored slightly higher, 49 out of 100 points. We also recommend checking out our overall rating of robot vacuum cleaners tested at robovac.washerhouse.com: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.

Now I'll share my personal opinion about the iLIFE V80 PRO. I liked that the robot vacuum cleaner maps the room, is suitable for both dry and wet cleaning, has three control options, comes with spare parts, has strong suction power, and performs well on hard floors. These advantages are enough to automatically keep your home clean.

Among the drawbacks, I'd highlight the lack of a travel limiter, the poor maneuverability, and the fact that it can't vacuum and mop simultaneously. I don't consider the lack of a central brush a drawback for this model, as the manufacturer compensates for this with high suction power. Otherwise, it's a reasonable purchase for the price. Especially since iLIFE specializes in robotic vacuum cleaners and is constantly improving their products.

On that note, I'd like to conclude this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone!
