Lydsto V9: A Budget-Friendly Upright Vacuum Cleaner from Xiaomi

The Lydsto V9 is a rather interesting budget upright vacuum cleaner. The model is priced between $80 and $120, which is only $0.85 to $1.25 at the exchange rate at the time of writing. For this price, the manufacturer offers a cordless vacuum with a telescopic wand, a lighted cleaning area, and even a set of basic cleaning attachments. Below, I'll show you how the Lydsto V9 works, put it through its paces, and then express my opinion on whether it's worth buying. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner came in a very compact box:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Telescopic extension tube.
- Basic floor nozzle.
- Brush with sliding bristles.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Power adapter.
- A simple wall holder with fasteners, including double-sided tape.
- Vacuum cleaner cleaning brush.
- Operating instructions.
The package is standard. Considering the price, I have no complaints, but it would have been ideal to have included a turbo brush attachment for cleaning upholstered furniture and mattresses.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Lydsto V9's design. It's white and gray. Some buttons are highlighted in orange, making it easy to use.
On the end are two mechanical control buttons: one for power on/off and one for switching between two power modes: standard and turbo. A small display on top shows the battery percentage. Considering the budget price, this is a very good solution.
Unfortunately, the battery is non-removable. The dust container, however, is removable, which is a plus. It features a triple filtration system consisting of a cotton filter, a cyclone, and a mesh filter. All filters are washable with water. Unfortunately, there is no HEPA filter.
The dust bin is conveniently emptied by pressing a button that opens the bottom, allowing all debris to fall out. Conveniently, all attachments are held in place by a mechanical latch.
Now let's look at the included attachments. The main floor attachment is equipped with LED lighting, which is very helpful. The front part has recesses to allow larger debris to pass before the brush. The turbo brush is equipped with soft bristle inserts. A locking tab on the side is removable by hand, without tools. There's even a detangling comb behind the brush for removing tangled hair and fur. Overall, the main attachment is quite well-designed.
The remaining attachments in the kit are standard and correspond to the budget segment of a vertical vacuum cleaner.
And here's what the vacuum cleaner looks like when assembled:
The only thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't have vertical parking. But this is common with most upright vacuum cleaners, even those from reputable brands and premium brands.
Characteristics
The main characteristics of Lydsto V9, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 180 W.
- Suction power 21,000 Pa.
- Li-Ion battery 2200 mAh.
- Dust collector 800 ml.
- Working time 15/30 min.
- Noise level 72-76 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.17 kg.
The manufacturer doesn't specify power in the familiar AeroWatts, but based on the stated power consumption, the vacuum cleaner is predictably weak. We'll see how powerful it really is in our tests.
I personally measured the noise level with a sound level meter. It was in the range of 72-76 dB, which is average and closely related to the reduction in engine power.
As for weight, the main unit weighs 1,328 grams, the extension tube 271 grams, and the floor nozzle 566 grams. The fully assembled vacuum weighs 2,165 grams. It's very lightweight, which may be a significant advantage for some!
Tests
A detailed video review of the Lydsto V9, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the Lydsto V9's battery life in Turbo mode with the main attachment attached. It managed to run for 15 minutes and 34 seconds, as claimed by the manufacturer. At standard power, it can run for twice as long – up to 30 minutes. This is a good result, considering the budget price.
Suction power
In terms of suction power, the Lydsto V9 was able to vacuum up to 10 mm deep in crevices at standard power. It did so confidently down to 8 mm, and only partially at 10 mm. In Turbo mode, it effortlessly cleaned out all crevices.
So I can say that, of course, it feels like the power is not like that of mid-range and premium segment vacuum cleaners, however, for household conditions it will be, in principle, sufficient, especially if there are no carpets or it has a low pile.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Lydsto V9 picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine did a good job.
It's important to note that it has no problem picking up debris along the baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. We can see that hair and fur are still tangled around the center brush. But it's easy to clean thanks to the included cleaning tool.
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet and the Lydsto V9 did an equally good job, thoroughly cleaning the carpet.
Using additional attachments
Using the additional attachments, you can clean a sofa, areas the main nozzle can't reach, and even the inside of a car. In short, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom. Hair and fur can get stuck in the bin. In this case, you can completely remove the dust bin, remove the filtration system, and shake out the remaining debris. Very convenient.
Personal opinion
The Lydsto V9 cordless stick vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight its pros and cons, then share my personal opinion on this model. Here's what I liked:
- Budget price.
- High-quality waste collection on various surfaces.
- Long working time.
- Availability of backlight.
- Removable dust collector.
- Convenient indication of battery charge status.
- Telescopic extension tube.
- Light weight.
Speaking of disadvantages, given the price, these are rather comments that are quite acceptable, but nevertheless worth considering:
- No HEPA filter.
- Non-removable battery.
- There is no turbo brush attachment for cleaning furniture.
- Vertical parking is not provided.
Overall, the Lydsto V9 exceeded my expectations. I thought it wouldn't clean carpets as well, that it wouldn't last as long at maximum power, and even the build quality was better than I expected. So, for under $100, it's definitely an interesting option. Especially considering it's not made by some no-name brand, but by Lydsto, a Xiaomi sub-brand that makes pretty good robot vacuums for the price. So, I see no compelling reason not to recommend it.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
