REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO: a washing upright vacuum cleaner with a reinforced battery

Hello, readers! This review will examine a new cordless vacuum cleaner with the rather uncomplicated name of the REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO. Priced at $530, this device boasts a high-capacity battery that provides up to 45 minutes of runtime, a carpet cleaning brush, and a self-cleaning function on a dedicated charging station. Below, I'll thoroughly test the REMEZair RMVC-553, after which I'll express my opinion on how effective this vacuum cleaner is and whether it's worth the money. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Station for charging and self-cleaning.
- Pen.
- Clean water tank.
- Documentation for the vacuum cleaner, including a separate catalog with branded cleaning products for various conditions of use.
- The detergent itself.
- Replacement roller for carpet cleaning.
- Vacuum cleaner cleaning brush.
- Power adapter.
- Roller cleaning tool.
- Another brush for vacuum cleaner maintenance.
The package is good. It's a big plus that it includes a branded cleaning solution. Customer service is key. Unfortunately, though, a spare HEPA filter is missing for complete satisfaction. But that's not a deal-breaker, especially since it's a washable HEPA filter. Let's move on!
Appearance
Let's take a look at the REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO. First, let's assemble it, installing the water tank and handle. Here's what the vacuum cleaner looks like assembled. It's worth noting right away that it supports vertical parking outside the docking station. The color is unusual—the combination of red and black—and black is very rare for a wet vacuum cleaner. Let's take a closer look at each component.
Let's start with the cleaning module. The fluffy floor roller is located behind a transparent, removable cover. The soft bristles are embedded within the soft bristles. These are designed to more effectively collect hair and fur from the floor.
Instead of a fluffy roller, you can install a special carpet cleaning brush with stiffer bristles.
A squeegee is installed underneath the roller to collect liquid from the floor. The roller traditionally doesn't extend to the edges of the body, so it's safe to assume the unit won't be able to thoroughly clean floors right up against baseboards and furniture.
A dirty water tank is located above the cleaning module. A washable HEPA filter with a mesh is installed inside. Instead of a float system, the liquid level is controlled by sensors.
Above this tank there is an information display that shows the operating time, battery charge, selected operating mode, and service messages.
A clean water tank is mounted even higher. A coarse mesh filter is built into the lid. Next to the tank is a button for activating the station's self-cleaning function.
The main control buttons are located on the handle. These include the power on/off switch, the ECO and maximum modes, and the water pressure button.
Yes, there's another button located on the back below the nameplate. It turns voice notifications on and off. The REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO plays status messages in Russian.
Overall, the vacuum cleaner's design is familiar. The build quality is above average. All mechanical locks operate smoothly. No gaps, paint leaks, or loose parts were found.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Battery: Li-Ion, 5000 mAh.
- Power consumption: 190 W.
- Suction power: up to 12000 Pa.
- Working time: up to 45 min.
- Clean water tank: 600 ml.
- Dirty water tank: 550 ml.
- Noise level: 77-78.7 dB.
- Weight: 3.9 kg.
It's important to highlight the increased battery capacity and longer runtime compared to similar products. The battery is removable and secured with screws. If it degrades, you can replace it with a new one yourself. The noise level, measured personally, reaches 77 dB in ECO mode, with a peak of 78.7 dB at maximum power. This vacuum cleaner's noise level is standard.
Testing
And finally, let's move on to the tests. I recommend watching a detailed video review of the REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO with all the tests:
Suction power
First, let's test the suction power of the REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO on a test bench. This vacuum cleaner managed to suck up debris from crevices up to 8 mm deep. A 10 mm gap proved too deep. Nevertheless, the power is good, considering it's a cordless wet/dry vacuum.
Dry cleaning
Now, let's test the quality of debris collection on laminate flooring. The machine can be used without water, for dry cleaning only, which is a plus! It can collect various types of debris, directing it into the dirty water tank. The roller also barely picks up any pet hair. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
Here's how to clean a carpet of the same debris using the REMEZair RMVC-553. We can see that the carpet roller is tangled with hair and fur. But it's easy to clean, which is exactly what the included tool is for.
Washing the floor
Now let's check the floor cleaning performance, which is more important. The REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO is perfect for everyday wet cleaning. Water flow control allows it to be used on a variety of surfaces, including those sensitive to heavy wetting.
In addition, the device is suitable for collecting liquids and mixtures, as in my case, a broken raw egg sprinkled with flour on top.
The REMEZair RMVC-553 also does a fantastic job of removing dirt from floors. The only issue, as mentioned earlier, is that this vacuum cleaner can't thoroughly clean the area along the baseboard because the roller doesn't extend to the edge of the unit. This is a problem with most upright wet vacuum cleaners.
And now the most difficult test: removing dried-on coffee and sauce stains. This time, I added a proprietary cleaner to the clean water tank. But even with it, it took the vacuum about 10 minutes to remove the stains. Therefore, removing stubborn stains can be challenging, although even by hand, such stains aren't easy to remove.
Self-cleaning
Finally, we tested the REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO's self-cleaning performance after all the tests. We drained the dirty water from the reservoir, filled it with clean water, placed the vacuum cleaner on the station, and turned on the self-cleaning function. Self-cleaning performance under heavy soiling isn't ideal. However, under normal household conditions, the vacuum cleaner self-cleans well and requires no manual intervention.
Let's sum it up
The REMEZair RMVC-553 AquaStream PRO was thoroughly reviewed and tested. Overall, this wet/dry vacuum cleaner left a mostly positive impression. But first things first. I liked the following:
- Long battery life.
- Power adjustment is provided.
- Suitable not only for floor washing, but also for dry cleaning.
- Capable of cleaning carpets.
- Voice notifications in Russian.
- Informative display on the body.
- Self-cleaning function at the station.
- The quality of floor washing is above average.
- The kit includes a branded cleaning agent.
- Warranty and service availability. Incidentally, this vacuum cleaner has a 2-year warranty.
As for the disadvantages, I had the following comments about this model:
- Doesn't wash the narrow area along the baseboard.
- It removes difficult stains with difficulty.
The shortcomings are typical for most similar devices, but most importantly, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Therefore, I see no reason not to recommend this cordless wet/dry vacuum cleaner. In most respects, it met all expectations.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
