The Tefal Explorer Series 20 RG6875WH robot vacuum cleaner can vacuum dry debris using its turbo and side brushes, as well as mop floors with a damp microfiber cloth. The robot isn't exactly cheap, at $230. With a discount (at the time of writing), the vacuum cleaner can be purchased for approximately $170. The manufacturer also provides a 12-month warranty at service centers. Let's find out how attractive the Tefal RG6875 is and whether it's worth buying.

Equipment

The robot comes in branded black packaging. On the front of the box is a photo of the robot itself, along with a description of its main features and specifications.

The Tefal RG6875 package includes the following components:

  1. Robot vacuum cleaner.
  2. Charging station.
  3. Power adapter.
  4. Remote control with batteries.
  5. Spare side brushes.

The Tefal RG6875's round body is made of matte black plastic. The top panel features a single button for automatic mode and the company logo. Functional capabilities

The Tefal RG6875 robot vacuum cleaner's navigation system relies on infrared sensors, cliff sensors, and additional body protection in the form of a soft bumper. The robot tries to avoid collisions with surrounding objects and falls down stairs. Its movements are erratic due to the lack of advanced navigation.

The robot vacuum cleaner delivers excellent floor cleaning performance thanks to a rotating turbo brush and two side brushes that sweep debris toward the central suction opening. Debris is collected in a dust collector with an additional cleaning filter. The Tefal RG6875 also includes a mop attachment, allowing for both dry cleaning and wet mopping.

The robot vacuum cleaner has operating modes, an overview of which is presented below:

  • “random” – the most optimal mode for cleaning rooms filled with furniture;
  • "random+" – designed for quick cleaning of a room within 30 minutes;
  • "Corner" – designed for cleaning around the perimeter (along walls and in corners).

With a weekly scheduling feature that saves seven daily programs, the Tefal RG6875 robot vacuum cleaner can keep your home clean on a regular basis.

The robot can be controlled using a button on the body, or via a remote control equipped with a display, which provides expanded access to the device's functionality.

Operating instructions

The user manual is printed on thick laminated paper and is designed for several robotic vacuum cleaners in this series. It provides an overview of safety precautions, features, recommendations for connecting and maintaining the device, troubleshooting tips, and some specifications for the Tefal RG6875 robotic vacuum cleaner. For ease of understanding, images have been added to the text.

Advantages and disadvantages

Considering the robot's price range, as well as the manufacturer's stated specifications and features, I would like to share my opinion on whether it is worth purchasing.

Among its advantages, I'd like to point out the availability of customer support, a decent set of components, and a reasonable price with the discount. The robot cleans at a level comparable to its competitors, and the central brush is another plus.

However, the disadvantages, in my opinion, are more serious:

  1. There is no movement limiter.
  2. Small volume of dust collector.
  3. Navigation by sensors only.

If this robot were priced around $100–$130, then all the downsides would be negated. However, for $170–$230, there are much more attractive models with advanced navigation and more interesting features. Hello! Can you tell me what could be causing my Tefal Explorer Series 20 to blink nine times and make a noise? All the brushes are clean, and there's no hair anywhere. What should I do? Thank you!

    I have the same problem: it constantly beeps when charging, every 7 blinks or so. I'd like to hear an answer to my question, too.

    Please help. Is it possible to disable the daily auto-on feature on the Series 20 vacuum cleaner without the remote? The vacuum cleaner has stopped responding to the remote, but the robot turns on every day. Please help.

    While heading to the base, I nudged the Tefal 20. It showed a flash, maybe even a light, and then the indicator went out, and the robot stopped. Maybe it was running low on battery. I connected it to the base, and the green light went out. When disconnected from the base, the green light comes on again. Could you advise me on what this is and what to do?
