Tookfun CW1: An affordable robot window cleaner with two spray arms

Tookfun CW1Tookfun CW1

The Tookfun CW1 is a new, affordable window cleaning robot from AliExpress. Priced between $110 and $125, or $140 and $160, this device boasts a spray function, not just through one, but through two nozzles located on opposite sides of the body. This maintains the optimal moisture level of the wipes as the robot moves back and forth across the window. And, of course, it improves the quality of window cleaning. So, below, I'll show you how the Tookfun CW1 performs its primary function, after which I'll share my opinion on this window cleaning robot. Let's get started!

Equipment

The window cleaning robot arrived in a cardboard box, which contained a super-convenient storage case. Here, take a look for yourself:

Case

The package includes:

  1. Power unit.
  2. Cord for connecting the power supply to the network.
  3. Safety rope.
  4. 6 sets of napkins.
  5. Remote control without batteries.
  6. Bottle for pouring liquid into the robot's tank.
  7. Two so-called nozzle cleaners that spray water.
  8. Operating instructions in English.

Equipment

There's only one complaint about the package: there are no spare wipe holders. A spare set of holders simplifies the process of replacing wipes with clean ones while washing windows.

Appearance

Let's take a look at the Tookfun CW1 window cleaning robot. It's white, made of matte plastic that resists fingerprints. It appears to be of high quality. The cleaning module consists of two round rotating discs with cleaning pads. The height of the body is approximately 83 mm from the floor, although the instructions state 80 mm.

The robot's power cord is non-removable, which isn't ideal. If you accidentally pinch the cord, you'll have to repair it; you can't simply replace it with a new one, like with removable extension cords. However, the total cord length is up to 7.5 meters, making it suitable for use on large, tall windows. The safety cable, however, is only 5 meters long, which is rather odd. They should have made it 7.5 meters long too.

The body features a mechanical on/off button, a robot status indicator light, and a water fill port with a sealed lid. The reservoir holds up to 150 ml of water.

On the bottom of the robot, we see two nozzles for spraying water. It's important to note that the water is sprayed as droplets, not as a mist. This ensures that the liquid isn't blown away by the wind, which is a plus.

The wipe holders are attached to the robot with mechanical fasteners. The wipes are fairly standard. Surprisingly, there are no indicator lights on the wipe side to indicate the robot's status. While you don't hear the alarm sounds when the power goes out, the indicator lights are there to protect you from this. It's unclear why they were removed.

As a result, we see that Tookfun's design has both strengths and weaknesses. Let's move on!

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of Tookfun CW1, as declared by the manufacturer:

  • Backup battery: Li-Ion, 650 mAh.
  • Suction power: up to 3000 Pa.
  • Power consumption: 90 W.
  • Battery life: up to 20 min.
  • Water tank: 150 ml.
  • Minimum window size: 30*30 cm.
  • Maximum window size: limited by wire length (7.5 meters).
  • Dimensions: 278*140*83 mm.
  • Weight: 1.3 kg.
  • Noise level

It's worth noting the noise level, which I measured myself. If you run the window cleaning robot indoors, the noise level is around 75-76 dB. If you run it outside, it all depends on the soundproofing of your windows. For example, in my case, the noise level doesn't exceed 52 dB.

Functional capabilities

As for functions, the Tookfun CW1 robotic window cleaner is controlled using the included remote control. It features manual control, start/pause, water supply on/off, water level adjustment, spot cleaning mode, and double-pass cleaning of the entire accessible area. The latter mode was a welcome addition.

Testing

A detailed video review of the Tookfun CW1, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the video:

Navigation and window cleaning quality

Finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll check how the Tookfun CW1 performs at its primary task—cleaning windows from the outside. We'll also be able to evaluate its navigation. Considering the windows haven't been washed since fall and are quite dirty, it's recommended to first run the robot for dry cleaning, without spraying any cleaning solution. I did just that. The robot removed most of the dirt from the windows, but left behind circular marks from the wipes. I ran the robot a second time with clean wipes and the automatic liquid feed function. After the second wash, the windows were clean, without any marks or streaks.

Let's compare the condition of the windows before and after:

Window cleaning quality

The only weak point of all window cleaning robots, including this one, is that corners remain unwashed, due to the design features of the cleaning module:

And here's what the napkins look like after the test:

The model's navigation, even judging by this test, is good. It also left no unwashed areas on a larger 150 x 90 cm window, and navigated a narrow window just 38 cm wide without any problems.

Application on other surfaces

This robot can also be used to clean tiled walls, shower stalls, and mirrors. It's even worth noting that the Tookfun CW1 can gently roll away from the edges of frameless surfaces without losing its grip. That's a plus!

Well, this robot window cleaner is also capable of functioning on horizontal surfaces, for those interested.

Emergency mode

Let me explain how the Tookfun CW1 operates in emergency mode. When unplugged, the robot starts beeping and the red indicator on the button flashes. This indicator is more useful on the wipes side, allowing you to visually detect the problem while the robot is cleaning the outside of the window. The button flashing isn't very helpful, and while it's not critical, it's a criticism of the robot compared to similar products.

Personal opinion

The Tookfun CW1 window cleaning robot was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll share my personal opinion on this device. I liked the following:

  1. A cleaning liquid spray function that increases window cleaning efficiency and allows the robot to clean larger windows while keeping the wipes damp.
  2. The double-pass function is not available in all robots.
  3. Good navigation.
  4. The robot is capable of cleaning light dirt and effectively collects dust from windows.
  5. Suitable for washing horizontal surfaces.
  6. Suitable for washing frameless windows.
  7. It can be used on various hard surfaces, which expands its scope of application.
  8. An extended power cord. Although, again, the safety cable isn't that long, so a longer power cord would be a bit pointless. But at least you can extend the safety cable yourself if you really want to.
  9. Convenient case for storing the robot.
  10. Optimal price.

As for the shortcomings, the following were found:

  1. It does not wash windows in corners due to design features.
  2. There is no emergency light indicator on the wipes side.
  3. Non-removable power cord.
  4. There is no spare set of napkin holders.

Overall, the robot does its primary job well. It's certainly no worse than similar products, and I'd even say it's better than some thanks to its dual water sprayers. The automatic water supply is definitely a very useful design feature. I also appreciated the carrying case, which makes it very convenient for storing and transporting the robot if needed. The issue of not cleaning corners is common to all window cleaning robots, so it's not a major concern. The other concerns are more personal. If they're not that serious for you, I see no other reason not to recommend this device. For the price, it's definitely worth considering.

On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!

Tell me, did it spray from both holes in your case?
We only have spray when it goes from left to right (right nozzle), it doesn’t spray in the opposite direction.

    • Admin

From one (most likely from the right), it sprayed more intensely than from the left, but definitely from both.

    Good afternoon.
Unfortunately, I can't find this model for sale. What alternative can you recommend?
