REDMOND RV-UR368: A washing upright vacuum cleaner with a carpet brush and UV lamp

The REDMOND RV-UR368 cordless vacuum cleaner, priced at $300-$350, features a self-cleaning base, a replaceable carpet cleaning roller, a UV lamp for surface disinfection, and built-in voice alerts in Russian. And that's far from all the REDMOND RV-UR368 has to offer. So, I thoroughly tested the device and then expressed my opinion on whether it's worth the money. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Charging base with roller holder.
- Removable handle.
- Removable water tank.
- Removable battery.
- Replacement roller for carpet cleaning.
- A brush and a toilet brush for cleaning a vacuum cleaner.
- Hex key for detaching the handle.
- Operating instructions.
- Power adapter.
Standard equipment. Let's move on!
Appearance
Let's take a look at the REDMOND RV-UR368's design. Let's start with the cleaning module. The roller is held in place by a clip. It's made of soft bristles with elastic bristles inside to capture hair and fur. This roller is designed specifically for cleaning floors. A special carpet roller can be installed instead. It consists solely of elastic bristle brushes distributed along the entire roller. The only drawback is the non-removable top cover. If it gets dirty, the transparent plastic inside can be a bit difficult to clean.
We see a scraper installed underneath it, as well as an ultraviolet lamp for surface disinfection. This isn't a unique solution, and I can't evaluate its effectiveness, but it's worth highlighting.
A 600 ml dirty water tank is located above the cleaning module. It contains a HEPA filter with a mesh screen, liquid level sensors, and a coarse filter.
The clean water tank is removed by pulling it upward. It holds up to 680 ml of water. The lid is equipped with a mesh filter for coarse filtration.
The advantage of this washing vacuum cleaner is that the battery is removable.
The top of the housing features an informative display that shows the selected operating mode, battery charge, and service messages. Next to it is a button for starting the self-cleaning function.
As for the handle, it features three mechanical control buttons: an on/off switch and a mode selector (Eco or Maximum), as well as a trigger button that controls the water supply to the roller. It's worth noting that the water supply is forced, which has its advantages. For example, when cleaning carpets, there's no need to wet the carpet; dry cleaning is possible. At the same time, you can manually control the water flow when cleaning floors.
Speaking of the station, the vacuum cleaner charges and self-cleans on it. Unfortunately, there's no automatic roller drying feature.
It's also important to note that vertical parking is available outside the base, as well as voice announcements in Russian.
Overall, the REDMOND RV-UR368 has a standard design. It does have its pros and cons when compared to similar models, but we'll discuss those at the end of the video.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the REDMOND RV-UR368, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Battery: Li-Ion, 2600 mAh.
- Power consumption: 150 W.
- Suction power: up to 5000 Pa/up to 70 W.
- Working time: up to 35 min.
- Charging time: up to 4 hours.
- Clean water tank: 680 ml.
- Dirty water tank: 600 ml.
- Noise level: 77-78 dB.
- Weight: 4.2 kg.
In my opinion, the battery is a bit weak compared to similar devices, but otherwise, everything else is standard. I personally tested the noise level, which is around 77-78 dB, which is in line with similar devices.
Testing
A detailed video review of the REDMOND RV-UR368, including all tests, has already been published on the channel. I highly recommend watching the video:
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll check the vacuum cleaner's basic capabilities, specifically how it cleans floors. There will be several tests, ranging from simple to complex.
The vacuum cleaner does a good job of everyday floor cleaning. It doesn't leave streaks and thoroughly picks up liquid residue from the floor.
It's also capable of scrubbing away dried-on dirt. Here, we see that a narrow area along the baseboard remains unwashed because the roller doesn't extend to the edge of the housing.
However, the REDMOND RV-UR368 isn't as effective against tough stains as similar machines. It took about 5 minutes to completely remove dried-on coffee and sauce stains. It's important to note that I didn't use detergent, as none was included. Adding a suitable detergent at the right concentration to the tank with clean water will improve the results.
Moreover, the vacuum cleaner is suitable not only for washing floors but also for picking up liquids and mixtures. As in my case, the now-traditional test with a raw egg and flour.
The dry cleaning performance was also tested. The REDMOND RV-UR368 performs well at picking up various types of debris on laminate flooring. There are no blind spots along baseboards or in corners. That's a plus.
A vacuum cleaner can also clean carpets. Just remember to install a suitable roller for this purpose, and it's best not to force-feed.
The last thing left to check was the self-cleaning performance. After dry cleaning, we see that most of the debris has collected in the dirty water tank. The roller is slightly tangled with hair, but this isn't a big deal; it's easy to clean.
After extensive testing with dirt and stain removal, I drained the dirty water from the tank, filled another tank with clean water, and ran the self-cleaning feature. The platform, top cover, and roller are clean. I can say that this vacuum cleaner's self-cleaning feature is well-implemented.
Personal opinion
The REDMOND RV-UR368 cordless vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll share my thoughts on it after trying it out. I liked the following:
- Suitable for both floor washing and dry cleaning.
- High quality cleaning.
- The set includes a carpet cleaning roller.
- It has power adjustment, which is surprisingly not possible with some premium analogs.
- Voice notifications in Russian.
- Removable battery.
- Informative display on the body.
- Self-cleaning function.
- Availability of warranty and service.
As for the disadvantages, the main ones are:
- Roller drying is not provided at the station.
- The battery is a bit weak.
- The roller does not extend to the edge of the body.
- Non-removable top cover of the cleaning module.
Overall, the REDMOND RV-UR368 has more pros than cons, and most importantly, it does its job well. If the above concerns aren't critical for you, I see no compelling reason not to recommend this wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
