GARLYN M-3500: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner for Dry and Wet Cleaning

The GARLYN M-3500 upright vacuum cleaner, starting at $280, comes with not only standard attachments but also a replaceable roller and a wet cleaning module. This means the GARLYN M-3500 can vacuum and mop simultaneously, improving cleaning results and saving time. I thoroughly tested this cordless vacuum and then expressed my opinion on whether it's worth the purchase. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The GARLYN M-3500 arrived in this branded box:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Removable battery.
- Extension tube.
- Basic floor nozzle.
- Replacement roller.
- Wall holder with fasteners.
- Flexible hose.
- Wet cleaning module.
- Documentation.
- Power adapter.
- Brush with soft bristles.
- Brush with sliding bristles.
- Crevice nozzle.
The package is good. In my opinion, the only thing missing is a special attachment with a turbo brush for cleaning upholstered furniture and mattresses. The manufacturer decided to replace it with a 2-in-1 brush with retractable bristles.
Appearance
Let's take a look at the GARLYN M-3500's design. Let's start with the main unit. It's finished in graphite. The main controls are highlighted in orange, making it easy to use. The device is turned on and off using a trigger button. You don't have to hold it down, which is a plus. A mechanical power control button is located on the end of the unit. There are two power levels: standard and turbo.
There's no display on the body. The GARLYN M-3500's battery is removable, which is another advantage.
A pre-motor HEPA filter is located on top. The dust bin is emptied by pressing the latch underneath. Debris falls out the bottom of the container. The flask can also be completely removed by pressing the button on top and turning it clockwise. This allows you to shake out any remaining debris and clean the flask if needed. Very convenient. Inside the dust bin are a mesh filter and a cyclone filter. In total, there are three visible filtration systems. The air outlets are directed sideways. A blow-out foam filter is also visible inside. Overall, the design of the main unit is standard and raises no questions.
Now let's look at the main floor nozzle. It features a swivel joint. The nozzle comes with a fluffy roller designed for cleaning hard floors. Behind it is a large suction hole, allowing it to pick up even large debris. The roller can be removed without any tools; simply engage the mechanical lock. Another smart feature is the comb behind the roller for detangling hair and fur. That's a plus.
Instead of a fluffy roller, you can install a replaceable bristle-petal roller in the attachment. It's more versatile and much more effective at cleaning carpets.
Well, here's what the wet cleaning module actually looks like:
The reservoir holds up to 300 ml of water. A mechanical button dispenses water directly to the cleaning pad. The module attaches to the main nozzle magnetically. The cleaning pad consists of two distinct, separate parts. One part supplies water, while the other is used to collect residual liquid from the floor.
In short, the cleaning module is designed in such a way that first the roller collects debris, followed by a cloth that collects the remaining fine dust and moistens the floor.
Additional standard attachments. They expand the vacuum cleaner's range of application and allow you to pick up debris in places the main floor nozzle can't reach.
The vacuum cleaner is very easy to assemble. The main nozzle and extension tube are equipped with mechanical locking mechanisms. Here's what the GARLYN M-3500 looks like assembled:
It's worth noting that there's no vertical parking option outside the holder, which is inconvenient. However, there is a wall bracket that can be used to store the vacuum cleaner and the included attachments:
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the GARLYN M-3500, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 400 W.
- Suction power up to 140 aW.
- Li-Ion battery 2500 mAh.
- Dust collector 500 ml.
- Water tank 300 ml.
- Working time 8-35 min.
- Charging time up to 120 min.
- Noise level up to 74-77.5 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.4 kg.
As for the weight, I measured it myself. The main unit weighs 1,409 grams, the extension tube 237 grams, and the main floor nozzle 746 grams. In total, the fully assembled vacuum weighs 2,392 grams. It's lighter than most similar vacuums, which is a plus.
The noise level was also personally tested using a sound level meter. At speed 1, the noise level was between 74-75 dB, and at speed 2, it was no more than 77.5 dB. The manufacturer claims a noise level of up to 80 dB, and this is true.
Testing
A detailed video review with all the tests has already been published on the channel. I highly recommend watching the video:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the GARLYN M-3500's runtime at maximum power. The vacuum cleaner managed to run for 9 minutes and 18 seconds in Turbo mode. Even longer than the manufacturer claims. The runtime is quite standard.
Suction power
In terms of suction power, the GARLYN M-3500 can thoroughly vacuum debris from crevices up to 8 mm deep at speed 1. At speed 2, it can easily remove debris from crevices up to 10 mm deep, which is a good result. The vacuum cleaner has decent suction power.
Dry cleaning
Now let's test how well the GARLYN M-3500 picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine performed well. It's important to note that it has no trouble picking up debris along baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly, with no blind spots. The fluffy roller barely picks up any hair or fur. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet, and the vacuum cleaner did an equally good job, thoroughly cleaning the carpet. A second, flap-and-bristle roller was installed for carpet cleaning, and it also didn't pick up any fur or hair. Another test counts!
Wet cleaning
As for the wet cleaning module, it allows you to vacuum and mop simultaneously. Since the water flow from the tank to the mop is not too large, there's no need to worry about moisture getting into the motor compartment. Just to be safe, it's best not to use the vacuum cleaner on the second speed with the water tank installed. Overall, it's a convenient solution.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the included attachments allow you to clean your sofa, vacuum upholstered ceilings, and even clean your car's interior. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust container. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom of the container. Hair and fur can sometimes get stuck in the container. In this case, you can remove the container completely and empty the contents into the trash can. Very convenient!
Personal opinion
The GARLYN M-3500 cordless vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I can highlight the following advantages of this device:
- Increased suction power.
- Good quality of waste collection on different surfaces.
- Availability of a module for wet cleaning.
- Light weight.
- Removable battery.
- Fast battery charging.
- Replacement carpet roller included.
- Simple and convenient design.
- Availability of warranty and service.
Speaking about the disadvantages, I would like to highlight the following:
- Not very long operating time in Turbo mode.
- Contactless charging on the wall mount is not provided.
- There is no vertical parking outside the station.
- There is no turbo brush attachment for cleaning mattresses and upholstery, although the manufacturer states that the 2-in-1 brush completely replaces this attachment.
Overall, I can say that the upright vacuum cleaner I reviewed accomplishes its primary purpose. It seems a bit overpriced given its rather simplistic design and lack of trendy features like automatic power boost. The other issues are not critical, so if they aren't important to you, I have no compelling reason not to recommend this vacuum cleaner. Anyone interested in the ability to simultaneously dry and wet vacuum should consider this option.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
