Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules: A Top-of-the-Line Upright Vacuum for Under $200

The new Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules cordless vacuum cleaner is priced at around $180 at launch. For that price, the manufacturer offers an upright vacuum cleaner with a suction power of up to 185 watts, which is quite powerful. The Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules also boasts a convenient bendable extension wand, an informative display, an automatic power boost function that adjusts to the type of flooring and how dirty it is, and several design features that enhance ease of use. At first glance, this combination of features is clearly attractive for the price. So, below, I'll take a closer look and test this upright vacuum cleaner, after which I'll express my opinion on whether it's worth the money. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules package includes:
- Removable battery.
- Power adapter.
- Wall holder for the main unit with fasteners and two additional holders for attachments.
- Extension tube.
- Basic floor nozzle.
- Flexible extension hose.
- Mini turbo brush for cleaning upholstered furniture.
- Bendable connector.
- Soft bristle attachment.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Operating instructions translated into Russian.
I can say the package is very good. It would be ideal if it included a replacement roller for cleaning carpets. Brand representatives said the rollers can be purchased separately. They will be available for purchase on Jimmy's official website in Russia starting in the second quarter.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules' design. Let's start with the main unit. The first thing I'd like to highlight is the dust collector's unique, yet traditional design for Jimmy cordless vacuums. It's positioned transversely across the body. According to the manufacturer, this design provides more powerful and longer-lasting suction. Fewer blockages prevent the airflow from becoming clogged.
The main unit's handle is very comfortable, and two mechanical control buttons are conveniently located under the thumb: the power on/off switch and the power adjustment. All information, including battery charge and service messages, is displayed on the display. Four power modes are available: automatic, turbo, maximum, and eco. In automatic mode, the vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts power depending on the type of flooring and how dirty it is, allowing for efficient use of battery power.
The vacuum cleaner's battery is removable, which is a plus. The HEPA filter is removable from the side. The filtration system, which consists of a cyclone and a metal mesh, can also be completely removed. This gives three visible filtration stages. The dust container is not fully removable from the main unit, which can be a bit inconvenient for maintenance and cleaning. The dust container itself opens from the bottom with the press of a button.
The vacuum cleaner is easy and convenient to assemble. The extension tube and main floor nozzle are equipped with mechanical locks.
Let's take a closer look at the main nozzle. It features a swivel joint and LED illumination of the cleaning area. The fluffy roller is better suited for picking up debris on hard surfaces. It has a large suction opening, allowing it to capture even large debris.
It's really cool that the roller extends beyond the edges of the body at the front, allowing it to press close to baseboards and furniture, more thoroughly collecting debris and dust. The roller lock is removable by hand, so no tools are needed. Another clever design solution by Jimmy's engineers is the comb behind the roller, which untangles hair from the brush. Convenience is in the little things.
The included attachments are essentially standard. The mini furniture brush features a bristle-petal roller that locks into place on the side and is also easily removed without tools. I've seen two bristle attachments with similar designs on vacuum cleaners from other brands before. However, they skimped on the crevice tool; it lacks the trendy LED lighting or retractable bristles. Again, considering the price of the vacuum, this isn't a big deal.
The included extensions make the vacuum cleaner even more convenient to use. Here's a look at the main tube with a folding elbow. It allows you to vacuum under your bed or cabinets without bending down.
It's worth noting that this vacuum cleaner doesn't have a vertical parking feature. However, most of its design features still deserve praise.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 550 W.
- Suction power up to 185 aW.
- Li-Ion battery 2500 mAh.
- Dust collector 500 ml.
- Operating time up to 65 min.
- Noise level 77.5-85.5 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.86 kg.
The increased suction power is worth highlighting; in the $200-$250 price range, this is likely a record-breaking figure. Or at least, definitely one of the best.
Regarding weight, the main unit weighs 1,654 grams, the extension tube weighs 408 grams, and the main nozzle weighs 798 grams. The complete vacuum weighs 2,860 grams. It's slightly heavier than similar models, but not significantly so. The center of gravity is well-distributed, so your hand won't get tired while using it.
I personally tested the noise level. In automatic mode, it ranged from 72.5 to 73 dB, increasing to 72.7 dB in Turbo mode, and peaking at 76.2 dB at maximum power. In Eco mode, the noise level was around 72 dB. Overall, the noise level for this vacuum cleaner is standard, despite the increased power.
Testing
A detailed video review with all the tests has already been published on the channel. I highly recommend watching the video:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules' runtime at maximum power. The vacuum cleaner managed to run for 11 minutes and 7 seconds. A fairly standard result.
Suction power
In terms of suction power, in Eco mode, the vacuum cleaner was able to suck up debris from crevices 2 to 6 mm deep. Even Eco mode is sufficient for thorough dust collection. In Turbo mode, the vacuum cleaner was able to suck up debris from a 10 mm crevice, but at maximum power, it performed more reliably. I can say that, both by feel and by testing, this vacuum cleaner is truly powerful.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine performed well. It's important to note that it has no trouble picking up debris along baseboards or in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly, with no blind spots. No hair or lint gets caught in the roller. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
Speaking of carpet cleaning, even though the roller attachment isn't designed for it, the vacuum cleaner still got the job done. However, there's one caveat: if you press too hard with the attachment, the vacuum cleaner will trigger an overload error. So, while it's possible to clean carpets, be careful not to overdo it.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the complete kit allows you to clean a sofa, areas beyond the reach of the main nozzle, and even car interiors. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom. Hair and fur can get stuck in the bin. This is where you can completely remove the filtration system and shake out the debris.
Personal opinion
The Jimmy H8 Flex Hercules vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll share my thoughts on it after using it.
I liked the following:
- High suction power.
- Good quality of waste collection on different surfaces.
- Complete set of attachments.
- Removable battery.
- Folding extension tube.
- Informative LED display.
- Ergonomic design and one-handed operation.
- Automatic power increase.
- The optimal price, considering all of the above.
Regarding the downsides, I have more comments based on my experience using similar products. These are the following:
- There is no replacement roller for cleaning carpets.
- No vertical parking is provided.
- Contactless charging on the wall mount is not provided.
Overall, for me personally, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, and as a result, I can say that for the money, this is definitely one of the best upright vacuums out there. And most likely the best for cleaning hard floors. It impressed me even more than Dreame P10 Pro, previously the leader in my ranking of the best cordless vacuum cleaners under $200. Therefore, it is definitely recommended.
