The control panel features two touch buttons and a Wi-Fi connection status indicator. A lidar sensor is used for navigation. It features a spring-loaded cover to prevent the robot from getting stuck under furniture.

The combined water and waste container is mounted on the rear of the unit. A dust discharge opening with a shutter and charging terminals are visible. The tank holds up to 280 ml of water. An electronically controlled pump adjusts the cleaning cloth's wetting level. The dust container holds 300 ml of dry waste. The filtration system is triple: foam, mesh, and HEPA filters.

The robot has four fall protection sensors mounted on its underside. It has a single side brush: a three-pronged brush with bristle tassels. The central brush has bristles and petals. It can be removed from both sides to remove tangled hair and fur. The central brush unit is floating, which is a plus.

Now let's look at the self-cleaning station itself. Waste is discharged through a suction channel at the end, rather than through the bottom. This allows for self-cleaning even with the cleaning cloth installed, something the Xbot L7 Pro's predecessor couldn't do. A blow-out filter is located at the rear of the station, and it's recommended to clean it periodically. The waste bag is located under the top cover and holds up to 4.5 liters of dry waste. It's also worth noting that the station is equipped with a display that shows the robot's status and battery level.

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of the Xbot L7 Smart, as stated by the manufacturer:

Battery Li-Ion 5200 mAh
Suction power up to 3300 Pa
Cleaning area up to 320 sq.m.
Battery life up to 250 min
Dust collector 300 ml
Bag in the station 4.5 l
Water tank 280 ml

Dimensions of the robot 350*98 mm

The specifications are quite standard for the premium segment. The only important thing to note is the increased claimed suction power, which will be further verified in tests.

Functional capabilities

Let's move on to an overview of the Xbot L7 Smart's features. The robot vacuum cleaner can be controlled via both the proprietary mobile app and the remote control. Connecting the robot to the app and Wi-Fi network is straightforward. Follow the manufacturer's instructions. The app interface is in Russian.

On the main control panel, the robot creates a room map and automatically divides it into rooms. Above the map are the Xbot L7 Smart's main cleaning modes, including automatic mode, Y-pattern mopping, room and zone selection, and spot cleaning at a selected location on the map. To the right, below the map, is an additional settings section. Here you can:

  • Set up no-go zones, even separate no-go zones for wet cleaning mode.
  • Enable robot search by sound signal.
  • Enable forced self-cleaning.
  • Adjust the volume of voice notifications and, if necessary, turn off the light indication on the robot.
  • Adjust the water supply level and suction power.

Cleaning Parameter Settings

Let's move on to the main settings section. The first tab is the map editor, where you can edit room boundaries, name them, and select the number of times the robot will pass each room: 1 or 2. Incidentally, the Xbot L7 Smart stores multiple maps in its memory. You can also change the robot's name and set up a cleaning schedule. When setting up a schedule, you can set the time, days of the week, desired rooms to clean, adjust the water flow level, and suction power. You can also set a time when you don't want the robot vacuum to disturb you.

Additionally, you can view the cleaning log, share control with other users, monitor the status of consumables, and select the voice notification language. It's important to note that the Xbot L7 Smart speaks Russian.

Functions

Returning to additional settings, I'd also like to mention the ability to customize the self-cleaning frequency and manual control. It's also worth noting that the Xbot L7 Smart supports voice control via Yandex.Alice and Google Assistant, automatically increases suction power when entering carpets, and can continue cleaning after recharging in the base station.

The remote control duplicates some of the functions, allowing you to control the robot vacuum cleaner without a smartphone. This may be useful for certain groups of people, such as the elderly.

Overall, the robot vacuum cleaner's capabilities are quite interesting and allow for flexible cleaning settings. That's a plus.

Testing

A detailed video review of the Xbot L7 Smart, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the video:

Navigation

And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll test the Xbot L7 Smart's navigation in a room with obstacles. The robot vacuum first cleaned the room's perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. It got stuck on the legs of a dryer, but was able to free itself and continue cleaning. It also swept around a box and the legs of a chair, then returned to charge. Test passed!

Navigating an Obstacle Room

Speaking of navigation within the home, the Xbot L7 Smart cleans room by room, first along the perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. The cleaning speed is good, and there are no uncleaned areas, so navigation is excellent!

Suction power

The Xbot L7 Smart's suction power was quite average, despite the claimed 3300 Pa. The robot vacuum cleaner was only able to suck up debris from a 2 mm gap, just like its predecessor, the Xbot L7 Pro, which I also reviewed. However, this power is still sufficient for automatically maintaining a clean home.

Dry cleaning of laminate flooring

Dry cleaning performance on laminate floors is quite decent. The robot vacuum picked up all the debris from the floor. It also cleaned corners well, compared to most other round robots. The side and center brushes picked up some hair and fur, but the bulk of the debris ended up in the dust bin.

Cleaning the carpet

The cleaning quality on the carpet is high, the robot was able to collect all the debris, I have no complaints.

Self-cleaning quality

As for self-cleaning performance, it's average. Some debris remains after emptying a full container, but most of it is still removed.

Wet cleaning

The cleaning performance of dried-on dirt on laminate flooring was also above average. The robot removed all shoe marks, leaving only minor streaks and a stripe along the baseboard that robotic vacuums are currently unable to remove due to their design.

Wet cleaningWet cleaning

Wet cleaning

It's important to remember that the Xbot L7 Smart can not only follow the floor polisher's path in wet cleaning mode, but also vacuum and mop the floor simultaneously. Wet cleaning is well-implemented on this model.

Wet cleaning and carpets

When it comes to wet cleaning in the presence of carpets, it should be noted that the Xbot L7 Smart does not turn off the water supply when it enters the carpet and does not move off the carpet when it detects it. Therefore, I recommend setting up separate no-use zones for wet cleaning in areas where there are carpets.

Obstacle clearance

This robot can easily handle 2-centimeter thresholds, so it has good cross-country ability.

Driving on dark surfaces

However, the Xbot L7 Smart is wary of black surfaces, detecting them by differences in height. This is important to keep in mind.

Noise level

Finally, we measured the robot's noise level in different modes. In Eco mode, the noise level is around 55-59 dB, in Standard mode it jumps to 65-66 dB, and at maximum power, the noise level reaches 73 dB. Yes, this model has a higher noise level, despite its standard suction power.

Let's sum it up

Xbot L7 Smart has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 79 out of 100 points and enter the top ten of tested robotic vacuum cleanersFor comparison, the predecessor Xbot L7 Pro scored 73 points, so we can say that the upgrade was a success.

I'll share my personal opinion of the robot after thoroughly familiarizing myself with it and testing it. I liked the following:

  1. Good navigation.
  2. Availability of a self-cleaning station.
  3. Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning.
  4. Control via app, remote control, and Yandex.Alice.
  5. A large number of functions and settings in the application.
  6. Floor polisher mode.
  7. Good quality dry and wet cleaning.
  8. Full Russification of both the application and voice notifications.
  9. Good cross-country ability.
  10. Availability of warranty and service support.

As for the disadvantages, I would like to highlight only two points:

  1. Fear of dark floor coverings.
  2. Increased noise level.

There are also some minor concerns regarding the advertised suction power, which turned out to be quite standard, and the automatic power boost feature when driving on carpets. It takes a slight delay to activate.

Ultimately, if the above-mentioned drawbacks aren't so important, I recommend considering this model. Moreover, the Xbot L7 Smart has many more significant advantages. And the price is on par with most others. self-cleaning robotic vacuum cleaners.

On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
