Cecotec Conga Rockstar 1500 Ultimate ErgoWet: the most powerful upright vacuum cleaner in a complete package

The Cecotec Conga Rockstar 1500 Ultimate ErgoWet is one of the most powerful upright vacuums on the market in 2022, if not the most powerful. It claims to have a whopping 680 watts of power, or 26,000 Pa of suction power. I previously tested the previous 600-watt version. Conga Rockstar 900 I was impressed with this cordless vacuum cleaner. Let's see how the updated model, priced at around $425 at the time of writing, performs. So, let's get started!
Equipment
The vacuum cleaner is packed in a branded cardboard box like this:
The package includes:
- Main block.
- Floor nozzle with nap roller.
- A wet cleaning tank with a microfiber cloth installed.
- Extension tube.
- Extension in the form of a flexible hose.
- Rotary connector.
- Wall holder with fasteners.
- Power adapter.
- Nozzle for cleaning upholstered furniture.
- Soft bristle attachment.
- A non-standard attachment for cleaning fabrics and, for example, sleeves from wool.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Replacement bristle-petal brush for the main nozzle.
- Vacuum cleaner documentation translated into several languages.
- Convenient branded bag for storing accessories.
The complete package is very comprehensive, exactly the same as the 900 model. This makes the vacuum cleaner very versatile.
Appearance
Let's move on to a look at the exterior. Let's start with the main unit. The vacuum cleaner is turned on and off by pressing the trigger. On the end, there's a very convenient and informative LED display with a single mechanical button for switching operating modes. There are four modes: low, medium, high, and automatic. In auto mode, the Cecotec Conga Rockstar 1500 automatically increases suction power depending on the type of flooring, the degree of dirtiness, and even the type of brush installed. That's a plus.
The battery is removable. Next to it are the terminals for charging the vacuum cleaner on a wall mount. There's also a connector for connecting the charger directly.
A blow-out HEPA filter is removable from the display side. To empty the dust container, simply press a mechanical button and the bottom will collapse. Pressing the Clean button opens the dust container compartment. The filtration system includes a mesh, cyclone, foam, and HEPA filter. A total of 5 air filtration stages. That's a plus!
Let's move on to an overview of the attachments. The main floor nozzle features a swivel joint, improving the ergonomics of the vacuum cleaner. The brush locks on the side. No tools are required to remove the lock. The lint roller is better suited for cleaning hard floors. Interestingly, the nozzle itself has a comb for removing tangled hair from the brush. A bristle brush can be installed instead of the lint roller. This is better suited for cleaning carpets.
Well, this wet cleaning attachment can be attached to the main attachment:
The tank holds up to 300 ml of water. A pump inside supplies water to the cloth. To do this, press a special button on top. The microfiber cloth is divided into two sections. There are holes for rollers to help the vacuum cleaner glide smoothly across surfaces. The cloth is secured with Velcro. Water flows through three openings with valves. The tank attaches to the main nozzle magnetically. This is quite convenient.
I'd especially like to highlight the extension tube with a folding elbow. This clever design allows you to collect debris under low furniture, such as a cabinet. Very convenient and practical!
Speaking of the upholstery nozzle, it's equipped with a motorized brush. The brush is secured with a rotating lock. The brush has a flap-and-bristle structure. The entire nozzle is high-quality.
The rest of the attachments and connectors in the kit are standard, and frankly, their build quality is budget-friendly. However, some attachments have adjustable bristle positions, allowing you to use the brush when needed.
I'd also like to highlight the wall mount. It's perfect for charging the vacuum cleaner, storing attachments, and even hanging a bag with other accessories if needed. What a convenient solution!
Overall, I liked the vacuum cleaner's design. I have no serious complaints.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Cecotec Conga Rockstar 1500, as declared by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 680 W.
- Suction power up to 230 AW (up to 26 kPa).
- Li-Ion battery 3000 mAh.
- Battery life up to 90 minutes in minimum power mode.
- Charging time up to 120 min.
- Dust collector 600 ml.
- Water tank 300 ml.
- Weight 3 kg.
- Noise level up to 88 dB.
It's worth noting that the vacuum cleaner's weight was measured personally. The main unit weighs 1,842 grams, the extension tube 415 grams, and the floor nozzle 779 grams. Accordingly, the fully assembled vacuum cleaner weighs approximately 3 kg, the same as its predecessor. It's slightly heavier than similar models, but the build quality is high and the motor is robust, so the extra weight is entirely justified. Furthermore, the vacuum cleaner's center of gravity is offset so your hand won't get tired during use.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Cecotec Conga RockStar 1500 Ultimate ErgoWet, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel. I recommend watching the video:
Noise level
Let's move on to the tests. First, we'll check the noise level of the Cecotec Conga RockStar 900 Ultimate ErgoWet in different modes. At minimum power, the noise level is around 77 dB, rising to almost 78.2 dB in medium mode, and at maximum power, the peak was 80 dB.
Yes, the vacuum cleaner is noisy, but it's also worth considering the high suction power, which leads to increased noise levels. However, the noise level turned out to be lower than the manufacturer's stated value.
Battery life
In maximum power mode, the Cecotec Conga RockStar 1500 Ultimate ErgoWet ran for 11 minutes and 20 seconds at maximum power. When the battery charge dropped to 20%, the vacuum automatically switched to medium power, running for almost 4 more minutes. The total runtime was about 15 minutes. That's a good result!
Suction power
The Cecotec Conga RockStar 1500 has very high suction power. Even on medium power, it was able to suck up debris from a 10 mm gap. I believe that in real-life household situations, you won't need to use the vacuum at maximum power, which will extend its battery life.
Quality of waste collection on laminate flooring
It's much more important to check how well this vacuum cleaner picks up various types of debris from the floor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it easily picks up both small and large debris. There are no blind spots, and the vacuum is able to thoroughly clean corners and the area along baseboards.
The vacuum cleaner also performed well on the tiled floor, collecting all the debris and thoroughly cleaning the joints between the tiles.
The most important thing is that the brush doesn't get tangled in fur or hair; all debris falls straight into the dust collector. Test passed!
Quality of carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet. With the Cecotec Conga RockStar 1500 carpet brush, it cleans the carpet thoroughly even at medium power. At maximum power, the vacuum cleaner cleans the carpet very deeply. And again, the brush is clean after cleaning, and all debris is tightly packed into the dust bin.
Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning
Here's a visual example of how the Cecotec Conga RockStar 1500 Ultimate ErgoWet can vacuum and mop simultaneously. Just be sure to move the vacuum slowly over the debris so it can pick it up quickly and not soak it with the cloth.
The idea of the clip-on nozzle is truly convenient. You can vacuum and mop laminate or tile floors, and when you reach carpet, carefully detach the nozzle, vacuum the carpet, and then return to dry and wet mopping hard floors simultaneously.
Personal opinion
The Cecotec Conga RockStar 1500 Ultimate ErgoWet was thoroughly reviewed and tested. Comparing it to the 900 model, I didn't notice much of a difference. They are both very powerful, and their design, accessories, runtime, noise level, and other parameters are identical. It's simply an updated, slightly more powerful version. I'll give my personal opinion on this vacuum cleaner. Here's what I liked:
- Very high suction power.
- Long working time.
- Removable battery.
- The presence of an informative LED display on the body.
- Automatic power control mode.
- High quality waste collection on both hard surfaces and carpets.
- A wet cleaning attachment that allows you to vacuum and mop the floor at the same time.
- A wide range of attachments included.
- Charging on a wall holder.
- Availability of warranty and service.
As for the shortcomings, there are no such as such, but rather comments, namely:
- Increased noise level during operation.
- No vertical parking.
- The weight is higher than that of similar models, although it is not particularly noticeable.
Ultimately, in my opinion, the Cecotec Conga RockStar 1500 Ultimate ErgoWet is definitely worth considering! It's powerful, practical, and versatile. It does its job well and is certainly recommended.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
