Xrobot Helper

Xrobot has been developing and manufacturing robotic vacuum cleaners under its own brand for 10 years. The company has created a wide variety of automated models designed for cleaning residential and office spaces with various types of flooring. The Xrobot Helper is the ideal choice for this type of household assistant. This review will allow you to familiarize yourself with the features and specifications of the Xrobot Helper robotic vacuum cleaner.
Equipment
The robot comes well-equipped. The basic package includes the robot vacuum cleaner itself, as well as spare parts, consumables, and accessories:
- Charging base.
- Network adapter.
- Virtual wall.
- Spare side brush.
- Cleaning brush.
- Screwdriver.
- Microfiber cloth – 2 pcs.
- Replacement filter.
- Removable panel for wet wiping of the floor.
- Remote control.
- Operating instructions.
The robot vacuum cleaner and all components are packaged in a branded blue and white cardboard box with a plastic handle for easy carrying.
Design
As you can see in the photo, the Xrobot Helper has a beautiful appearance. Its glossy plastic body, decorated with a beautiful print, is compact, allowing it to clean hard-to-reach areas—under furniture, along walls, and in corners.
The top of the body houses an IR sensor (for use with the virtual wall and charging base) and a touch control panel for selecting operating modes. The robot itself is available in two colors: black and white (Xrobot D7 Helper). The specifications and functions are identical, the only difference being the color.
This model does not have the traditional mechanical moving bumper, but is replaced with a soft rubber pad that wraps around the entire front of the body, protecting the robot from damage and preventing accidental contact with furniture. The central and side brushes are visible underneath.

Functional capabilities
The Xrobot Helper robot vacuum cleaner is a modern, multifunctional device equipped with a good battery, intelligent software control, two operating modes, and several movement algorithms:
- AUTO – Automatic cleaning mode for the entire room until the battery is completely discharged. In this mode, the vacuum cleaner begins by exploring the room, building a map of it, determining its size and configuration, and thereby determining its runtime. Throughout the cleaning process, the robot changes its trajectory: initially, it moves in a straight line, then, upon returning, it moves in a spiral with a gradually increasing diameter, and when encountering obstacles, it moves in a straight line and diagonally. While the robot's movements may appear chaotic at first, this helps it quickly assess the room's parameters and choose the most effective cleaning method.
- SPOT – Spot cleaning mode, a more intensive cleaning of a specific area to which the robot is carried by the owner or directed manually. In this mode, the robot begins moving in a spiral from the center, gradually moving away from it up to 1 meter.
You can limit the robot's movement area using virtual wall – a device included in the basic delivery package that creates an invisible barrier and thereby sets cleaning boundaries, limiting the robot to certain areas of the room.
The robot vacuum cleaner's design allows it to perform not only high-quality dry cleaning but also wet mopping in floor-polisher mode. This is possible thanks to the special design of the main brush assembly and dust collector.
The robot's main brush assembly is located in the center of the lower part of the body and consists of two independent brushes: a lint brush for collecting hair and pet fur, and a rubber brush for dry cleaning of floors from dust and large debris. Collecting debris and dust in corners, along baseboards, and along furniture legs and walls is facilitated by a rotating side brush. It has long, relatively stiff bristles that collect debris, sweeping it toward the main brushes.
The dust container consists of two separate compartments: the first large compartment is for collecting large debris. This compartment houses a motor, which is used solely to draw dust into the smaller lower compartment, which collects and holds any remaining fine dust and debris. The second compartment contains a filter that prevents dust particles from becoming airborne. This separate waste container design is very convenient for thorough cleaning of the room, and its capacity is sufficient for several cycles.
If desired, a panel with a damp microfiber cloth can be attached to the base of the container to act as a floor polisher for damp wiping the floor.
Along with the basic features, the Helper model boasts some unique features. One of these is the ability to maintain two speeds—low and high. The robot's speed can be increased or decreased using the remote control buttons, thereby shortening or extending the runtime. The automatic mode includes a repeat option—resumes cleaning after recharging at the charging station—as well as a scheduled mode with the ability to select and set the day of the week and start time.
Thanks to its intelligent navigation system, the robot thoroughly cleans the entire room, avoiding obstacles along the way. Obstacle sensors prevent collisions with objects, promptly alerting the robot and promptly adjusting its trajectory. Four pairs of sensors located on the base prevent the robot from falling from heights, sensitively reacting to changes in height.
The lack of a movable mechanical bumper with touch sensors in this model is compensated by the presence of a large number of highly effective IR distance sensors located around the entire perimeter of the rubber pad and a mechanism that allows the robot's movement to be determined by the speed of its wheels.
Operating instructions
The robot vacuum cleaner manual contains useful information about the features of this model, its area of application, an overview of its functions and technical capabilities, a detailed description of the device and its components, as well as the manufacturer's recommendations for proper operation, care, and storage.

Advantages and disadvantages
When creating the Xrobot Helper robot vacuum cleaner, the developers included a large number of details that distinguish this model from other similar devices:
- Modern design, compact size.
- Versatility.
- Two-stage waste collection system.
- Availability of a wet floor wiping function.
- Modular design of dust collector for separate waste collection.
- The latest navigation system.
- Availability of a virtual wall.
- Possibility to change the speed of movement and cleaning time.
- Planning the device's operating schedule.
- Remote control.
- Easy to operate and maintain.
The robot also has some minor drawbacks:
- Problems with recognizing the charging station.
- Difficulty cleaning medium pile carpets.
- Imperfection of the movement trajectory in local cleaning mode.
- Small dust collector capacity.
- Before turning on the robot, be sure to remove all small objects and wires from the floor.
In conclusion, I'd like to note that given the average price of this robot, which in 2018 was $125, it's safe to say it's a very decent option. Its shortcomings are common to most budget robot vacuums, so it's quite optimal in terms of price and quality.
Finally, we recommend watching a video review of the Xrobot Helper, which shows how this robot vacuum cleaner cleans:
This review of the Xrobot Helper shows that among inexpensive automated cleaning devices, this model is quite competitive, making it a worthwhile choice for an apartment or home.
