The 5 Best Window Cleaning Robots of 2019

The best window cleaning robotsThe best window cleaning robots

When choosing a window cleaning robot, it's important to choose the best option among competitors in its price range. Although this type of equipment isn't very common today (about a dozen models are popular in the CIS market), buyers still have difficulty choosing between two seemingly similar window cleaners. In this review, we've chosen what we believe to be the best window cleaning robots of 2019. The ranking consists of five models, each offering the best value in terms of price, quality, and functionality. Let's start with the most interesting model.

The updated 2020 ranking is available at the link: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-top-10-robotov-dlya-mytya-okon-v-2020-godu.html.

Bist Win A100

The leader of the TOP-5 is the modelBist Win A100This window cleaning robot is equipped with a unique and highly effective movable cleaning unit. Its unique design allows the unit to continuously vibrate from side to side, enhancing cleaning efficiency. This design allows the cleaner to effectively remove stubborn dirt from windows, mirrors, and tiles. It is attached to a vertical surface using a vacuum. The square body allows the cleaner to get close to window frames and corners. It's also important to note that this model is suitable for use on frameless windows.

Among the specifications, we highlight a travel speed of 2-3 min/m², a battery life of up to 30 minutes, and a power consumption of 75 W. Overall, the parameters are quite competitive, and the battery life of the built-in battery is generally best in its class.

A minor drawback, but one that exists: the lack of smartphone control via an app. Otherwise, this robotic window cleaner can rightfully be considered the best of its kind. The Bist Win A100 will cost approximately $280, which is well-suited to its functionality and performance.

HOBOT 288

The second place in the ranking deservedly goes to the relatively newHOBOT 288This windshield wiper also uses a vacuum attachment, but the cloth is firmly attached to the body, and the cleaning unit does not move. Among the model's features, we would like to highlight automatic dirt detection, the ability to clean frameless windows, and operation via a mobile app.

In terms of specifications, the cleaning speed is roughly the same (2.2-3 min/m²), the power is roughly the same (72 W), and the battery life is up to 20 minutes. Judging by customer reviews, the robot does its job perfectly. There are some minor flaws, but the price is lower—around $250. For the price, it's a very reasonable option.

iBoto Win 289

The list continues with a robot for washing windows, tiles and mirrors - iBoto Win 289This device is equipped with a 650 mAh battery, operates on battery power for up to 20 minutes, and can move at a speed of 2-3 min/m2.

Among its features, I'd like to highlight the ability to control it via a mobile app, automatic cleaning zone detection, multiple motion modes, and a vacuum attachment. The model costs around $200, slightly less than the previous windshield wiper with virtually identical features.

Ecovacs WINBOT W950

Another model from a renowned brand specializing in the production of smart household robots (including Ecovacs DeeBot robotic vacuum cleaners).WINBOT W950 As of early 2019, it was the best window cleaner from this manufacturer. Its features include frameless cleaning, automatic cleaning zone detection, vacuum attachment, crawler tracks, and thorough corner cleaning.

The specs aren't as good as those of the top three, but they're still quite good. Highlights include a 75W output, up to 15 minutes of battery life, and a 600mAh battery. There's no app control, and the price is $330. This is the most expensive product in our top 5, and its specs aren't the most impressive.

Windoro WCR-I001

And finally, the ranking of robotic window cleaners is closed by a fundamentally different modelWindoro WCR-I001This is a magnetic windshield wiper, with two modules attached to each side using magnets. This design allows the robot to stay in place longer during power outages and when its battery, which has a capacity of 2000 mAh, is discharged. Furthermore, the robot has a battery life of up to 100 minutes.

This model has far more disadvantages than advantages: limited glass thickness, the inability to clean tiles, mirrors, and other vertical surfaces on one side, and wet cleaning only. Moreover, it costs around $200.

With this feature, we'll conclude our review of the best robotic window cleaners of 2019. As you can see, an automatic window cleaner with such impressive features will cost between $200 and $330. This type of equipment is suitable for use in houses and apartments with many windows, especially for those living on upper floors. A vacuum window cleaner will also be useful for owners of restaurants, cafes, and office buildings.

Thanks for the article. I ordered the A100 and will share my impressions later.

So, my impressions of the VIN A100
The washer was delivered to me, but I couldn't test it right away because it simply wouldn't turn on. At first, I doubted it was working, but it turned out to be much simpler. Even though it runs on mains power, you need to charge the battery before using it for the first time, otherwise it simply won't turn on (apparently, additional fall protection in case of power outages).

As I understand it, its main feature is the movable brush, thanks to which it does an excellent job of cleaning windows, cleans better than I do, and leaves no streaks (the main thing is to either use dry fiber or not to overdo it with the cleaning agent; I just spray it on the glass when necessary and that's it).

For the first couple of days, I used it to clean everything I could reach (tiles, a kitchen backsplash, a mirrored wardrobe), and then I unexpectedly discovered another use for this model: cleaning walls in living spaces (wallpaper) and in the kitchen (paint). We live in an older building in St. Petersburg, with 20-meter-high rooms and 4-meter-high ceilings. The walls have probably never been washed. Hanging on a stepladder is a real pain, and the dust settles for years, which you breathe in, along with tobacco smoke and occasional hookah sessions. In short, it cleaned everything; the robot's movement algorithm is designed in such a way that it leaves no untouched areas.

I once borrowed a square Chinese one from my neighbors, washed one window and returned it. I can’t even remember the name now, so I have something to compare it with.
