The Best Robot Vacuums of 2019 – A Review of New Products

The year has only just begun, and already numerous companies have announced their new robot vacuum cleaners, which are clearly better, more functional, and in some cases cheaper than previous models. Flagship models from iRobot, iClebo, and other renowned brands will soon be available in the CIS market, so we're excited to introduce them to our readers. https://robovac.washerhouse.comOur TOP 10. The ranking will be compiled as follows: 5 budget models (up to $200) and 5 premium models (from $300 and up). Let's start with the more expensive segment.
Overall, the best robot vacuum cleaners of 2019 are:
- Xiaomi Roborock S6
- iRobot Roomba i7/i7+
- Okami U100 Laser
- iClebo O5
- 360 S6
- Xiaomi Xiaowa Roborock E352-00
- Genio Deluxe 500
- iBoto Aqua V715B
- iLife A9s
- Clever&Clean Zpro-SERIES Z10 III Lpower AQUA set
Premium class
Xiaomi Roborock S6
So, in our opinion, the best robot vacuum cleaner of 2019 is the flagship Xiaomi Roborock S6Sales began in August in Russia, and this robot can now be purchased for $350.
What should be highlighted from the characteristics of the model:
- Li-Ion battery 5200 mAh
- Operating time up to 150 min.
- Cleaning area up to 250 sq.m. on one charge.
It's a good start, but the most important thing is the functionality. The updated Xiaomi Roborock S6 can be controlled via a mobile app (via Wi-Fi), build a room map, perform wet cleaning, and be programmed not only by day of the week and time, but also by specific rooms. Furthermore, you can limit the cleaning area in the app and control the robot using the proprietary Xiao Ai voice assistant (soon, via Yandex.Alice).
This is undoubtedly one of the best options for wet cleaning and modern functionality. Incidentally, this model is now quieter and faster than its predecessors, thanks to updated internal components.
iRobot Roomba i7/i7+
The TOP-10 robot vacuum cleaners of 2019 continues with a new oneiRobot Roomba i7, which will also officially go on sale around March. We'll explain why it's in second place right away. This model is only suitable for dry cleaning and costs $600 more than the Roomba i7, which is the same price as the upgraded version with a self-cleaning base (Roomba i7+) the price tag will be even higher.
When it comes to specifications and functionality, things are quite serious:
- The improved iAdapt 3.0 navigation system with vSLAM technology allows the robot to better navigate its surroundings, building and memorizing a map of the room.
- Control via the app, as well as the ability to use Google and Alexa voice assistants.
- Even more refined brushes that do a better job of cleaning up pet hair, not to mention small debris.
- Increased suction power (according to the manufacturer, the power is 10 times greater than that of the 600th series of Roomba).
- The battery life is 75 minutes, which is enough to clean a house or apartment over 100 square meters.
- Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 1850 mAh.
- Dust collector with a capacity of 1 liter.
As you can see, iRobot's 2019 flagship is quite serious and functional. However, the new Omega surpasses the Roomba i7 in many ways, performs wet cleaning, and is significantly cheaper.
Okami U100 Laser
In third place on the list of the best is Okami U100 LaserThe fact is that the specifications and functionality of this device can compete with leading brands. However, the price is $370 (an optional UV lamp is available for an additional $30).
So, briefly about Okami U100 Laser:
- Equipped with lidar for highly accurate navigation.
- It performs both dry and wet cleaning. For wet cleaning, it has a separate tank and adjustable liquid flow to the cloth.
- Li-Ion battery, capacity 3200 mAh.
- It is capable of building a map of the room, while the robot vacuum cleaner stores several cleaning plans in its memory.
- Suction power up to 2500 Pa.
- Control via mobile application.
- Completely Russified.
- Dust collector capacity 0.6 l (water tank 360 ml).
The main thing to note is that this new product for fall 2019 is controlled via Wi-Fi, creates a room map, and offers advanced wet cleaning (Y-shaped motion pattern + multiple dampening levels). All of these features are on par with Xiaomi's flagship. The only downside is the lack of voice control. However, this is far from the most important feature at the moment. Cleaning quality is good, the robot is easy to operate, and most importantly, it's reliable. Speaking of reliability, I'd like to point out that the robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with a Japanese NIDEC motor, which is also used in Xiaomi and other well-known models. Only in the Okami U100 Laser is the motor located closer to the dust bin, increasing suction power.
iClebo O5
In fourth place is the new robot vacuum cleaner from iClebo. Model iClebo O5 Suitable for dry cleaning and microfiber floor mopping. It doesn't offer full-fledged wet cleaning, and the average price is $400.
Briefly about the model:
- Li-Ion battery 5200 mAh.
- The dust collector capacity is 0.6 liters.
- Operating time up to 120 minutes on one charge.
- Cleaning area up to 220 sq.m.
- Control via smartphone and voice assistants.
We decided to include this robot vacuum cleaner in the rating because it has better specifications than most robots in this segment. Furthermore, the Korean company iClebo has a fairly good reputation.
360 S6
And rounding out the TOP-5 premium robot vacuum cleaners of 2019 is a product that is not unknown to everyone on the CIS market360 S6This robot is sold only on AliExpress and similar platforms; it's almost impossible to find this model in stock online. However, the 360 S6 is a complete copy of the Xiaomi, only even cheaper (there are offers from $210 to $30). The robot vacuum cleaner has gained popularity abroad, with many comparing it to Xiaomi Mi Roborock Sweep OneTests show that cleaning quality is on par with Xiaomi's, while the functionality and specifications are identical.
Speaking about the latter, we will highlight the following points:
- Li-Ion battery 3200 mAh.
- Dust collector capacity 0.45 ml.
- Possibility of creating a map of the premises, control via smartphone.
- Dry and wet floor cleaning.
- Operating time up to 120 min.
- Function to increase suction power on carpets.
Overall, this is a robot vacuum cleaner with navigation, an app, a long-lasting battery, and a wet floor cleaning unit. It's almost three times cheaper than the top-ranked robots in our top 5. The downsides include the lack of a warranty or service support, and the fact that you can only order from Chinese retailers.
Budget models
Let's move on to the TOP 5 inexpensive robot vacuum cleaners of 2019. If you're looking for a smart assistant under $200, consider the following models from the list.
Xiaomi Xiaowa Roborock E352-00
The newest robot vacuum cleaner from Xiaomi is Xiaowa Roborock E352-00 Robot Vacuum Cleaner Lite, which began selling actively in late 2018 and early 2019. The lack of lidar allowed the device to be cheaper and more accessible to the public. The average price of the model is $190.
The functionality and characteristics are as follows:
- Suitable for dry and wet cleaning.
- Capacious Li-Ion battery 5200 mAh.
- Dust collector 0.64 liters.
- Ability to clean up to 150 sq.m. on a single charge (operating time up to 2.5 hours).
- Control via mobile application.
One of the downsides is the lack of warranty support on the market, which is quite disappointing. However, the robot itself is quite good, reviews are mostly positive, and the device is definitely worth the money.
Genio Deluxe 500
The second place in the ranking of the best inexpensive robotic vacuum cleaners was taken by the newGenio Deluxe 500This is Genio's flagship product, which, despite its affordable price ($190), is controlled via an app, performs both dry and wet cleaning, and is capable of cleaning up to 150 square meters on a single charge.
Other advantages include a well-equipped kit, a modern appearance, and, most importantly, a one-year warranty and service centers in all major Russian cities. The battery capacity is 2600 mAh (Li-Ion), and the battery life ranges from two to four hours, depending on the selected mode.
The Genio Deluxe 500's cleaning performance is up to par with a robot vacuum. It cleans hard surfaces quite well, reaches corners, and even mops floors with a damp cloth. Speaking of which, it's worth noting that in floor mopping mode, the robot can clean for up to four hours on a single charge, thanks to its lower power consumption.
iBoto Aqua V715B
In third place is the new oneiBoto Aqua V715BIn the best traditions of iBoto, it's suitable for both dry and wet cleaning. The price in 2019 is only $165, making it the best value in our top 10.
At the same time, the characteristics and functionality correspond to the price segment:
- Li-Ion battery, 2600 mAh.
- Operating time from 120 to 180 min.
- Cleaning area up to 150 sq.m.
- Dust collector capacity is 0.55 l.
It's important to note a few other features that made the iBoto Aqua V715B a standout in this ranking. First, the robot vacuum's height is 65 mm. This device is capable of cleaning even under low furniture. Second, it's worth noting that the rate of calls to authorized service centers is 0.65% of sales. This is a very good indicator, indicating that Aiboto robotic vacuum cleaners quite reliable.
iLife A9s
The brand-new A9s model from iLife is the European version of the iLife X800, which is well-known in China. The new model will hit the market very soon and will cost around $200, which is in line with the price range of our rating.
If we talk aboutiLife A9s, the following features should be highlighted:
- Possibility of creating a map of the room using the camera.
- Control via a special mobile application.
- Dry and wet cleaning.
- Several operating modes.
- The cleaning area is from 80 to 220 square meters.
- Li-Ion battery, 2600 mAh.
- Operating time up to 140 minutes.
As you may have noticed, this is another affordable robot vacuum with good navigation and smartphone control. In fact, this model is inferior to the top-ranked (budget) model in battery life and possibly price (the exact price of the robot in the CIS market will be announced soon).
Clever&Clean Zpro-SERIES Z10 III Lpower AQUA set
Rounding out our list of the best robot vacuum cleaners of 2019 is the Clever&Clean Zpro-SERIES Z10 III Lpower AQUA set. This is the Z10, which has been updated since 2013 (each time the manufacturer adds new features, improving its performance). This model has all the same advantages as the proven Z10 III LPower, but now includes a cleaning panel with a water tank and two microfiber cleaning cloths. As a result, while the vacuum cleaner cleans, it also damp-mops the floor. The result is a versatile, multi-functional robot cleaner.
This robot vacuum cleaner sweeps exceptionally well thanks to two counter-rotating brushes. This technology allows it to sweep better than 90% of robots, thanks to its design (previously used in iRobots).
Briefly about the robot:
- Price up to $200.
- Li-Ion battery 2200 mAh.
- Dust collector with a capacity of 0.5 l.
- Operating time up to 120 min.
- 8 operating modes.
- It's well-equipped (in addition to the standard virtual walls, remote control, and base), and includes 5 filters, 4 side brushes, and other consumables, which will last for more than a year of use.
Incidentally, in 2019, the new Clever & Clean AQUA-Series 03, which is controlled via a mobile app, creates a map, and performs wet cleaning, hit the market. Due to its relatively late arrival, it didn't make it into the rankings, although it could rightfully compete with its peers and hold a top spot.

It will be useful to read:

iRobot Omega O5. The name is inaccurate—Omega is Omega, and O5 is O5. The iRobot Roomba i7's functionality, in my opinion, misses some important points: Using the app, you can specify a specific room or rooms to clean. The battery life is 75 minutes, which is based on one cleaning cycle, but like the 900 series, the number of cycles is unlimited (the Omega is limited to two cycles). Therefore, battery capacity becomes completely irrelevant.
I'd love to put the overpriced iClebo, which lacks lidar and remote control, in first place and "forget" the Xiaomi Roborock S50. It's understandable, since the Chinese don't pay for advertising.
Pavel, good afternoon! Well, first of all, who said that iClebo was paid for something? Secondly, why doesn't it have a remote control? Are you sure about that? Thirdly, what about the ranking of "new" robot vacuums of 2019? Did the S50 actually come out in 2019? Then it would be correct to include only the recently released Xiaomi Roborock Sweep T6 in the ranking.
I agree that putting a model that isn't even available in real life as the leader is questionable and suggests it's a paid-for product. Or should we create a third ranking with unreleased models and manufacturer promises?
We'll do the same next year :)
Why does iClebo need a lidar? It has a built-in camera, and it navigates perfectly with it. We bought the iClebo O5. The app shows how the vacuum cleaner moves, making it clear that it doesn't miss any spots. The robot cleans our three-room apartment on its own. It goes into each room one at a time. When it's finished, it returns to its base. I read about Xiaomi that their quality and reliability are inconsistent and that their customer service is nonexistent. But it's cheaper than other market leaders in robot vacuums. And iClebo has excellent customer service. That's why we bought it. And I'm very happy about it. It cleans perfectly, and I've never had any issues with it.
Good afternoon, I can't decide between the Iclebo O5, the Xiaomi Roborock S6, the Hobot Legee 688, and the Okami U100. I have a 60 sq m apartment with three rooms and one carpet, mostly laminate. I initially wanted the Iclebo O5 because it has good suction power and automatically increases power when I drive onto the carpet. This company has been around for a long time. Plus, due to its more square body, it cleans corners better than round ones. However, since my apartment mostly has laminate and I need a good wet cleaning function, the Iclebo O5 seems out of the question. The Hobot Legee 688 has the best wet cleaning function, but its dry cleaning is a downside (I understand it's not particularly suitable for carpets). I couldn't find a full review of the Okami's dry and wet cleaning features online, so I can't comment on that. The Xiaomi Roborock S6 seems to have decent dry cleaning power and a wide range of programs, but it's far inferior to the Hobot Legee 688 when it comes to wet cleaning. So, what would you recommend to keep your apartment clean for both dry and wet cleaning?
I gave up on wet cleaning and bought the Iclebo O5, and I don't regret it.
