Anker Innovations, the manufacturer, owns several brands. One of these is Eufy, which specializes in a new generation of devices, from speakers with voice assistants to robotic vacuum cleaners. At the end of 2019, the company unveiled a new product – the RoboVac R450 (T2110) robotic vacuum cleaner for dry, automated cleaning of all types of floors. Overall, this model is a traditional mid-priced robotic vacuum cleaner (priced at around $150) with the appropriate features and specifications. It features a set of sensors, a 600 ml dust container with a filtration system, strong suction power (up to 1500 Pa), and other features, which we'll discuss later in the review.

Equipment

The Eufy RoboVac R450 model comes with:

  1. Robot vacuum cleaner.
  2. Charging station.
  3. Power adapter.
  4. Remote control with batteries.
  5. Two pairs of side brushes.
  6. Spare filter.
  7. Brush for cleaning the container.
  8. Operating instructions.
  9. Warranty card.

It's worth noting that the kit does not include a cleaning area delimiter—either a magnetic strip or a virtual wall. This is a drawback, as mapping and app control are not provided, and it's not possible to set boundaries on a virtual map. Therefore, before using the Eufy RoboVac R450 robot vacuum, it's necessary to prepare the room and remove any unnecessary items from the floor.

Appearance

The design of this robot vacuum cleaner isn't much different from most of its peers: it's made of plastic and has a rounded shape. However, upon review, you'll notice an important feature: the Eufy RoboVac R450 features a tempered glass top with an oleophobic coating that virtually eliminates fingerprints. The robot weighs 2.65 kg, and its dimensions are 325 x 325 x 72 mm. This represents a fairly compact footprint. Its low profile allows it to fit under furniture and clean hard-to-reach areas.

At the top of the robot is a large button for starting it. It's backlit, indicating its current operating mode.

The front features a spring-loaded bumper with a rubberized insert. There are also ventilation holes, and on the back is a plastic dust container with a mechanical release button.

On the back of the Eufy RoboVac R450 robot vacuum cleaner are a swivel wheel and two treaded drive wheels, allowing the device to not only move but also climb and cross thresholds up to 20 millimeters high. Nearby are round brushes and a pair of contact pads for automatic recharging. A V-shaped turbo brush is located near the center. The main power switch, protected from moisture and dust, is located nearby.

In addition, a close look at the body of the Eufy RoboVac R450 robot vacuum cleaner reveals numerous anti-collision and anti-fall sensors (for example, from stairs).

Technical specifications

The table below provides a brief overview of the main features of the Eufy RoboVac R450:

The Eufy RoboVac R450 robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with a 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery. At standard suction power, cleaning time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. At maximum suction power, runtime is reduced to 1 hour.

Functional capabilities

The robot vacuum cleaner is not equipped with an intelligent navigation system; it navigates solely using the installed obstacle and elevation sensors. The trajectory is as follows: the Eufy RoboVac R450 first cleans the corners, after which it moves on to the central part of the room. The robot also does not have a room mapping feature.

Fall protection

As for cleaning performance, it's decent. The device is capable of vacuuming even small debris and fine dust. As noted earlier in the review, the robot vacuum cleaner can overcome thresholds up to 20 millimeters high, allowing it to independently navigate from one room to another if necessary. Also, due to its compact size, particularly its low profile, the Eufy RoboVac R450 can reach under furniture and vacuum debris. Unfortunately, wet cleaning is not supported.

The main operating modes of the robot vacuum cleaner:

  • auto;
  • local;
  • around the perimeter;
  • cleaning one room;
  • manual mode.

Cleaning services are also provided according to a schedule.

The noise level of the Eufy RoboVac R450 robot is relatively low – approximately 50 dB in standard mode and up to 60 dB at maximum when the distance changes by two meters.

Advantages and disadvantages

In conclusion, I will highlight what I liked and what I didn’t like about this robot vacuum cleaner, considering its price.

Pros:

  1. Compactness.
  2. Good cross-country ability.
  3. Suction power is above average.
  4. Capacious dust collector.
  5. A bristle-petal central brush is installed.

Cons:

  1. There is no movement limiter.
  2. Poor navigation.
  3. Not controlled by the app.

However, there are more interesting alternatives in this price range with navigation, room mapping, and wet cleaning, so this robot can't be called the best value for its price. Before purchasing, I strongly recommend checking out our ranking of robot vacuums under $150: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-roboty-pylesosy-do-15000-rublej.htmlYou'll find more interesting models there. However, if the Eufy RoboVac R450 interests you, you won't be disappointed. It can handle dry cleaning in small areas, that's the main thing.
