Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid: The flagship from a renowned robot vacuum cleaner manufacturer

Hello readers! In this post, we'll be reviewing the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid robot vacuum. We previously gave a quick overview of this model to a subscriber (video at the end of the article), and now the robot has made its way to our test room, so we'll be testing it in detail and then offering our opinion on whether it's worth buying. The robot is equipped with a lidar sensor, wet and dry cleaning functions, and a mobile app. The average price at the time of writing is around $280, which is about average for the market. Let's take a look at the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid and how it stacks up against the competition. Let's get started!
Equipment
The robot arrived in this branded box—all the information is in English, but there's a sticker stating that it supports Yandex.Alice:
In addition to the robot itself, the box contains:
- Charging base.
- Power adapter.
- Plastic backing for the base.
- Wet cleaning nozzle with a microfiber cloth installed.
- Robot documentation, including in Russian.
The kit is sparse, there are no spare consumables in the box.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid's appearance. It's white with a bronze trim and a lidar sensor. It looks quite stylish!
On the right side of the mechanical bumper we see a wall sensor, and in the center an obstacle detection sensor.
It's worth noting that the robot is taller than its competitors. Its body is 10.2 cm tall, which isn't ideal. However, if you have floor-length furniture, the difference compared to other robots won't be noticeable.
The lidar itself is equipped with a button to prevent the robot vacuum from getting stuck under furniture. The top cover houses a Wi-Fi connection indicator, a start/pause button, and a forced return to the charging base.
The combined water and waste container is located under the top cover, which is the most convenient location.
In terms of design, it is very similar to the solution implemented in Mi Robot Vacuum Mop EssentialAttached to the container is a tool for cleaning the dust collector and central brush. A HEPA filter is also installed here.
The filtration system is based on HEPA, foam, and mesh filters. That's a plus!
The container holds up to 450 ml of dry waste, and the water tank holds 150 ml. It's worth noting that the water flow to the cloth is controlled in the app, but the pump itself is located in the robot, not in the container.
Let's take a look at the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid's underside. It has a single side brush, secured with a screw. It has three bristles and is equipped with four anti-fall sensors.
The central brush is made of bristles and petals. Both sides can be removed for cleaning hair and fur. This makes cleaning the robot much easier.
Water is supplied to the cloth through three holes in the nozzle. The cloth itself is lint-free around the edges, which likely compromises wet cleaning performance, especially when wiping areas along walls.
The napkin is attached very conveniently thanks to a groove and Velcro, as is implemented in Xiaomi robots.
Overall, the robot's build quality is above average. It's quite heavy, which hints at the high quality of the components inside.

Functional capabilities
Let's review the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid's features. The robot vacuum is controlled via a proprietary mobile app. Installation shouldn't be a problem. If the app can't find the robot after resetting the Wi-Fi settings, manually select the robot's network from the list by accessing the Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone.
The robot creates a room map on the main control panel and saves it to its memory. Automatic or at least manual room zoning is not supported. The map editor allows you to set general no-go zones and no-go zones for wet cleaning mode only. The Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid only saves one map to its memory.
In the settings section, you can share control with other users, select the water flow rate, and adjust the volume and language of voice notifications. Russian is also available. Incidentally, the robot speaks Russian.
You can also enable the robot's search by sound signal, control it manually, select area units, monitor the status of consumables, study the help section, and update the firmware version if necessary.
Let's look at the functions on the main control panel. Here you can adjust the suction power or switch to a mopping mode without suction if needed. Apparently, it's not possible to adjust the cloth's wetness in both dry and wet cleaning modes. It's only adjustable for wet cleaning. There's also an automatic power boost when driving over carpets, which is a plus.
The next buttons in the row start the automatic cleaning mode and force the robot to return to the base for charging. Let's look at the bottom row of buttons. This mode allows you to clean selected zones on the map, and you can choose the number of times the robot will pass these zones (1 or 2). You can set up a cleaning schedule by selecting the suction power, time, and days of the week. You can also set no-go zones on the map. You can also view the cleaning log.
Don't forget that the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid can also be controlled via the Yandex.Alice voice assistant.
These are all the features of a robot vacuum cleaner. While it certainly has the basic capabilities for automatically maintaining a clean home, it lacks some useful features for flexible cleaning schedules. For example, selecting rooms to clean or setting individual cleaning modes for each room. It also lacks multi-map support.
Testing
Navigation
Let's move on to the tests. First, let's check how the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid navigates a room with obstacles. First, it sweeps the entire perimeter of the room. The clothes dryer's legs presented no problems for the robot. After sweeping the perimeter, it moves on to cleaning the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern. The Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid also swept around a box and the chair legs, then returned to its base without a hitch. The test was a success.
Regarding house-wide navigation, there's one very odd detail, even mentioned in the instructions. After a familiarization drive and saving the map to memory, the map is rebuilt with each new run, allowing the robot to better navigate its surroundings. This isn't entirely convenient, as if the previous cleaning cycle isn't completed successfully, the old map won't return, making it impossible to set no-go zones or select cleaning zones until the robot rebuilds the map. Not the best solution.
Speaking of general house navigation, the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid divides the area into convenient zones and cleans zone by zone, first along the perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. The cleaning speed is standard, and there are no uncleaned areas, so there are no complaints about the robot in this regard.
Suction power
The robot vacuum cleaner's suction power is average. It can suck up debris from crevices no deeper than 2 mm. Therefore, the claimed 2200 Pa is accurate.
For domestic use, this power is sufficient to prevent debris from remaining in the joints between tiles, for example, after cleaning with a robot.
Dry cleaning of laminate flooring
There are no complaints about the dry cleaning performance. The Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid was able to pick up all the debris from the floor, leaving only the corners uncleaned, but this is a problem with all round robot vacuums.
The bulk of the debris was collected in the dust bin. The side brush didn't get tangled in hair, but the center brush took the brunt of the impact, as it should.
Cleaning the carpet
The quality of debris collection on the carpet was also above average. The robot successfully collected all the spilled debris, passing the test.
Wet cleaning
As for wet cleaning, the robot is capable of scrubbing dried-on dirt from the floor. The only area it couldn't clean was along the baseboard.
Overall, the floor cleaning performance is average. The structure of the cloth may leave narrow, dry streaks on the floor near the walls, but overall, the robot is suitable for gentle, damp cleaning.
Obstacle clearance
The Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid has excellent threshold clearance. It easily crosses a two-centimeter threshold.
Driving on dark surfaces
But it recognizes a black mat as a height difference. This is a common problem with many robots.
Noise level
Finally, we measured the noise level of the Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid in different modes. In polishing mode, it reaches 59 dB during acceleration, at standard power it reaches 62 dB, in turbo mode the noise level does not exceed 65.5 dB, and at maximum power, the peak was around 71 dB. This robot vacuum is quite noisy when operating at maximum power. In standard mode, the noise level is average.
Let's sum it up
The Eufy RoboVac L70 Hybrid has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 64 out of 100 pointsThe results are average for lidar robots, largely due to its limited functionality. However, there are no critical complaints about the robot, only a few caveats when compared to similar products. Let's take things in order.
The following are worth highlighting among the advantages:
- Lidar for navigation.
- Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning.
- High build quality.
- Good quality dry and wet cleaning.
- Automatic power increase on carpets.
- Good obstacle clearance.
- Yandex.Alice support.
- Stylish design (the case does not get dirty easily).
As for the disadvantages, it is worth highlighting:
- Limited functionality when working with the map.
- The robot vacuum cleaner does not support multi-cards.
- Fear of dark floor coverings.
- Poor equipment.
- The map is rebuilt every time the robot is launched.
As mentioned earlier, the shortcomings aren't particularly critical and may be insignificant for many. However, the robot vacuum cleaner itself is quite well-made, and the Eufy brand from ANKER has gained considerable popularity and authority abroad. So, if you like the robot and are completely satisfied with its functionality, you can buy it with confidence.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
