iLIFE W90: A BUDGET Vacuum Cleaner for Floor Washing and Dry Cleaning

iLIFE W90iLIFE W90

The iLIFE W90 is a budget-friendly stick vacuum cleaner. Its regular price is around $175, or $230 at the exchange rate at the time of writing. However, during the sale, you can order it for the incredibly low prices of $120 or $155. And for a cordless stick vacuum cleaner, this is a very good deal. The price is 2-3 times lower than similar models. So, below, I'll show you how the iLIFE W90 works and demonstrate its capabilities, after which I'll express my opinion on whether it's worth the money. So, let's get started!

Equipment

The washing vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:

Appearance

Let's take a look at the design of the iLIFE W90 cordless wet/dry vacuum cleaner. The design is familiar: a cleaning module in the form of a roller with fluffy bristles, above which are tanks for dirty and clean water. Everything is practically the same as other vacuum cleaners, except for the lack of a display.

The roller is located under a removable top cover. The soft fibers contain short, elastic bristles for capturing pet hair and fur. Unlike most similar rollers, the roller doesn't extend to the edge of the housing. Therefore, it's safe to assume there will be a narrow, unwashed strip along the baseboard.

The dirty water tank holds 500 ml. It contains a sponge filter with a mesh screen; there's no HEPA filter, which is a shame. The tank also houses a float-mounted water level sensor, typical of a budget-friendly unit, and a small coarse filter. The clean water tank holds 700 ml. It contains a mesh filter.

The handle also houses the control buttons, including the power on/off switch, switching between two operating modes, activating the self-cleaning function, and a water spray trigger. This vacuum cleaner doesn't automatically release water onto the roller, but rather presses the trigger. This allows you to adjust the water flow rate and perform dry cleaning as needed, such as when vacuuming a carpet.

It is also worth noting that the iLIFE W90 is equipped with voice notifications in Russian.

The last thing worth considering is the docking station. It's where the vacuum cleaner charges and self-cleans. There's no automatic roller drying feature, which is to be expected given the price.

Overall, we see that many components have been reduced in price, but the vacuum cleaner itself is still well assembled. The design is ergonomic, all the fasteners operate smoothly, and there were no loose parts.

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of the iLIFE W90, as declared by the manufacturer:

  • Battery: Li-Ion, 3000 mAh.
  • Power: 150 W.
  • Suction power: up to 5500 Pa.
  • Working time: up to 30 min.
  • Clean water tank: 700 ml.
  • Dirty water tank: 500 ml.
  • Weight: 4.57 kg.

It's important to note that the noise level was personally tested. It was found to be between 68 and 71.5 dB. This wet/dry vacuum cleaner's noise level is relatively low.

Testing

And finally, let's move on to the tests. A detailed video review of the iLIFE W90, including all the tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:

The iLIFE W90 performs well for everyday floor cleaning, both on wood and tile surfaces. It's streak-free and, when used correctly, won't damage delicate flooring.

This cordless vacuum cleaner can be used not only for cleaning floors but also for vacuuming up liquids. And, as in my case, it even passed the now-traditional test of picking up a mixture of raw egg and flour. It took a while to suck up the eggshell, but it finally managed to suck it into the dirty water tank.

The iLIFE W90 can also be used to clean slightly dried-on dirt from floors. As you can see, there are no marks or streaks left behind. The floor is perfectly clean.

Wiping off dirt

Since the roller doesn't extend to the edge of the cabinet, a narrow, unwashed strip remains along the baseboard. Moreover, this strip is a full 2 cm on one side and 8 mm on the other, due to the different thicknesses of the cabinet walls.

This vacuum cleaner even removed tough, dried-on coffee and sauce stains. As with similar products, it took some time to remove the sauce stains. I used only water, without detergent, as the manufacturer doesn't include one. It took about 7 minutes. This is a good result, as even the most powerful similar products with proprietary detergent complete this test in no less than 5 minutes. I believe its stain removal performance is practically on par with premium models.

Removing difficult stains

The iLIFE W90 can also be used for dry cleaning. It can pick up various types of debris from the floor. In my case, there weren't even any blind spots along the baseboards or in the corners. One caveat: larger debris won't reach the roller area because the lid is low to the floor, and there's not enough space. You have to lift the cleaning module slightly to capture larger particles. This situation will rarely arise in a home environment, but it's important to note.

Dry cleaning

Even with the soft roller, the iLIFE W90 can clean carpet. I don't recommend using forced water to avoid damaging or staining the carpet. I did have a couple of clumps of hair stuck in the pile, and the soft roller couldn't grab them. If it had a separate carpet brush, like similar products, this problem wouldn't have arisen.

And finally, we check the self-cleaning performance after all the tests. First, we drain the dirty water from the tank and add clean water to the second tank, as recommended by the manufacturer. We run the self-cleaning cycle, which lasts about a minute, then check the cleaning module. We see some dirt remaining on the lid and on the base under the roller, as we've seen with other vacuum cleaners after such rigorous testing. But the roller itself is clean. Under normal household conditions, the self-cleaning function works more effectively and cleans all components better. So, there are no complaints about the self-cleaning performance.

Self-cleaning

Personal opinion

The iLIFE W90 upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I can say that it's a truly impressive value for the money and, in many ways, is practically on par with more expensive alternatives. Let's take things one step at a time. I liked the following:

  1. Capable of removing dirt without leaving streaks or marks.
  2. Suitable not only for washing floors, but also for dry cleaning and collecting liquids.
  3. Vertical parking is provided.
  4. Voice notifications in Russian.
  5. Acceptable self-cleaning quality.
  6. Low noise level.
  7. Optimal price.

Among the disadvantages I would highlight:

  1. A narrow, non-washable strip remains along the baseboard and furniture.
  2. Non-removable battery.
  3. There is no drying function for the roller.
  4. No HEPA filter.
  5. There is no carpet cleaning roller.

Overall, considering the price, most of the complaints are quite forgivable, and some are common to most cordless wet/dry vacuum cleaners. No critical flaws were found, and at $120, it's a very attractive option. I highly recommend it if you're interested in a wet/dry vacuum cleaner but aren't willing to shell out $250–$300 like other models.

On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments below the video. Happy shopping. Bye!
