Functional capabilities
The Okami T90 robot vacuum cleaner is based on the 3Force principle. The Okami T90 is equipped with a state-of-the-art intelligent chip, which integrates infrared sensors, including an acceleration sensor and a gyroscope, to identify clean and dirty areas in a room. Innovative ESLAM mapping technology with memory allows the robot to determine its location and plot the optimal route without human intervention. Orientation occurs automatically, according to a pre-defined plan. For maximum efficiency, the Okami T90 divides the entire room into separate zones. During a new cleaning cycle, the robot vacuum cleaner compares the map of the previous cleaning with the preset cleaning pattern. If the maps match, it will clean that area more quickly and thoroughly. This increases efficiency and reduces cleaning time.
At the beginning of its work, after exploring the room, the robot moves along a straight route. Based on the room's characteristics, the Okami T90 can adjust its cleaning pattern.
An overview of the main algorithms for the robot vacuum cleaner's movement:
- corner turn;
- turn away from the wall;
- zigzag;
- return to the docking station to recharge.
The dust collector is equipped with two filters: a curved coarse filter and a HEPA filter, which makes the surrounding air much cleaner.
To perform both dry and wet cleaning, attach a special module to the bottom of the device, first filling the tank with water and attaching a microfiber cloth.
With the weekday cleaning schedule feature, you can pre-program the robot to start cleaning every day of the week at any time convenient for you.
The Okami T90 comes with an advanced virtual wall, which can limit the cleaning area to an angle rather than a straight line. The tower has two IR beam outlets, allowing you to precisely define an area where the robotic vacuum cleaner shouldn't go.
Another convenient feature is full localization: the vacuum cleaner offers approximately thirty voice notifications indicating the current status of the device. For example, the robot vacuum cleaner can notify you when a full dust bin needs emptying.
Advantages and disadvantages
Okami T90 is a new robot vacuum cleaner that has a number of advantages:
- Modern design.
- Small body dimensions.
- Cartography and navigation technology.
- Removable turbo brush and separate nozzle for thorough cleaning of hair and fur.
- Large capacity waste container.
- Separate wet floor cleaning unit.
- Aromatization function.
- Modern motion limiter.
- Voice notifications.
- Double air filtration + UV lamp.
- Powerful brushless motor with high rotation speed.
- Low noise level.
Aside from the high price, there are no significant drawbacks to this robot vacuum. In 2018, the average price of a model was $280, which is certainly a bit steep. We'd recommend considering similar models from higher-quality brands, as there are no negative reviews about this robot vacuum, which is suspicious and seems more like a marketing ploy. This concludes our review of the Okami T90.
Analogues:

I have this model. I'd like to add a couple of comments to the review.
Advantage number 7 is the aromatization function. It's not available, it's not described on the website, and there's not a word about it in the instructions.
You can add essential oil to the wet cleaning tank and it will smell delicious.
It cleans quite well for a robot vacuum cleaner, but in my experience it is inferior to the top-end Iclebo and Irobot.
If you're willing to pay another 15,000, it's worth considering. For the price, it's definitely worth it.
P.S. I'd add the database search to the list of downsides; sometimes it defies logic altogether. It's easier to just submit it yourself.
What can you say about smartphone control? According to stores, the robot has this feature...
The T90 has this function, we use it
Our T90 doesn't have a smartphone function. The manual doesn't mention it either. Even though we were assured it had this feature when we bought it from the official website.
If your T90 doesn't have a smartphone, it means you bought it before the beginning of autumn 2018.
After this date, everyone has Wi-Fi.
Hello! Could you please tell me where I can download the smartphone control app? Thank you.
Good afternoon! The app for the T90 is TuyaSmart. You can download it from Google Play and the App Store.
Wonderful device Dusya!
Advantages:
The gray digital camouflage color is stylish and practical (in terms of dust, scratches, and fingerprints). The base charging station: even top robot vacuum manufacturers often make poorly designed stations with a protruding cord. Here, the excess cord is hidden in the rear compartment. Mapping: it's included (though not visualized, but that's a minor detail—someone might want to add it). Replaceable brushes (turbo brush and Pet nozzle). A relatively high-capacity Li-ion battery. Full localization (Russian language support). Setup is simple: just download the app and connect it to your Wi-Fi hotspot. The time is automatically synced, so all you have to do is set up a cleaning schedule by day of the week.
Flaws:
Power is simply low, and that's the most important criterion. The vacuum cleaner is ineffective. It cleans poorly. The side brushes will scatter small debris. While the auto mode, which doesn't allow you to set the number of passes or cleaning edges (corners), can be adjusted via firmware, the suction power is lacking. The so-called 3D filter is more of a drawback than a benefit, since with a 0.7-liter dust bin capacity, almost half of it is taken up by the oddly designed coarse filter, even though a simple mesh filter is needed to prevent debris and dust from reaching the HEPA filter.
Comment:
Overall, the gadget will be of higher quality than most of its Chinese counterparts, but its price tag is 2, 2, and 5 times higher. It doesn't fit into the strategy of buying something cheap every year, nor does it fit into the category of expensive flagships, although with a little extra cash, you can buy a robot two heads above from a Korean manufacturer.
I had a problem with the anti-fall sensors; they started detecting critical heights where there weren't any: small height differences of up to 5 mm—thresholds where flooring meets, tile joints, and even the seams of cork flooring. All other functions work, and I'm generally happy with it—it collects Maine Coon hair well.
Where and how can I update the firmware (you wrote that something can be fixed with firmware)?
The T90 doesn't have the ability to change the firmware, but you can try cleaning the altitude sensors; this solved the problem once.
There is no service available for T90 series vacuum cleaners in this country. We can't buy side brushes anywhere!
