Okami U80 Pet: A New Robotic Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Hair

The youngest of three new products from Okami – This is the Okami U80 Pet. Priced at $249, this robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with all the necessary features for automatically maintaining a clean apartment or house. Suitable for both dry and wet cleaning, it features a gyroscope and 2D SLAM mapping. It can be controlled via a mobile app and offers many other useful features. Learn more about this robot vacuum cleaner in our review.
Equipment
Let's start with the package. It includes:
- The robot vacuum cleaner itself.
- Remote control.
- Charging base with power adapter.
- Separate tank for wet cleaning.
- 2 microfiber cloths for wet cleaning.
- 4 side brushes.
- 2 HEPA air filters (1 spare).
- Brush for cleaning the dust collector.
- Operating instructions in Russian.
- Warranty card.
As you can see, the package includes a fairly large number of spare parts. The only thing missing is a virtual wall.
Design
The Okami U80 Pet robot vacuum cleaner is black with white stripes. The manufacturer's website lists the color as "Maze Black," which is a true reflection of the maze. Two mechanical buttons are located on the top: power and return to base.
The side panel is standard—it features a mechanical touch bumper, ventilation holes, and a power button. One new feature is the speaker for voice notifications. We found the sound to be clearer. Although, it's not a portable speaker, so what does it matter?
Below, we see two side brushes, a central brush, wheels, a swivel roller, and charging terminals. A microfiber cloth for wet cleaning is also installed below.
The central brush is detachable, making it easy to clean pet hair and long hair. The side brushes have a separate tuft of bristles on the side to prevent hair from tangling.
Technical specifications
We've compiled all the key features of the Okami U80 Pet into a table for easy reference:
| Battery | Li-Ion, capacity 2600 mAh |
| Suction power | From 1800 to 2500 Pa |
| Cleaning area | About 100 sq.m. |
| Opening hours | 120 minutes |
| Dust container/water tank capacity | 600/360 ml |
| Height of obstacles to be overcome | Up to 2 cm |
| Overall dimensions (WxH) | 33*7.6 cm |
| Weight | 3.3 kg |
Overall, the specifications are fairly standard for 2019. The only notable features are the increased dust bin capacity (0.6 L) and the 2500 Pa suction power. The manufacturer achieved this power by repositioning the motor, installing it closer to the dust bin. As a result, combined with the detachable brush, the robot vacuum is well-suited for vacuuming pet hair and long hair.
Functional capabilities
So, let's take a look at what makes the new Okami U80 Pet special. Let's start with the fact that this robot is suitable for both dry and wet cleaning. Wet cleaning is intelligent, with electronically controlled water flow to the cleaning pad. How does it work? A chip in the tank creates a pressure control (pumping out air and creating a vacuum), preventing water from spilling. Electronic control is useful if your home or apartment has both tile and laminate flooring. For laminate, you should select the minimum wetting level to avoid damaging the surface. Tile, on the other hand, can be wetted more generously.
The next thing to mention is that the robot vacuum cleaner, thanks to its gyroscope and integrated SLAM-based navigation, can build a map of the room and display it in the app. This is convenient, as you can see where the robot is cleaning. The map is rather basic, as this model doesn't have a camera or laser rangefinder, as in other U-series models.
In addition, the app lets you customize the cleaning schedule and mode, as well as set the suction power. Incidentally, in addition to the app, the robot vacuum can be controlled manually using the remote control.
Operating instructions
Since the robot vacuum cleaner is localized, its instructions are in Russian. The instructions include care recommendations, its functionality, and troubleshooting tips for basic problems.

Pros and cons
Finally, let's highlight the main advantages and disadvantages of the Okami U80 Pet. Among the positive aspects, I would like to note:
- Stylish design.
- Low body, thanks to which the robot can clean under furniture.
- Possibility of creating a map of the premises.
- High suction power.
- Advanced wet cleaning.
- Cleaning according to schedule.
- The kit includes spare consumables.
- Disassemblable central brush.
- Complete Russification.
- There is a guarantee.
Flaws:
- There is no movement limiter included.
- Dust is visible on the glossy surface.
Given its impressive technical specifications and official presence in Russia, this model is more expensive than some Chinese models with similar features. Overall, it's quite an attractive model, but if your room is over 100 square meters, we'd recommend paying extra for the upgraded version with a camera and some additional features. Okami U90 VisionOtherwise, if the above features suit you and you have pets at home, this robot will handle the tasks perfectly!
