Xiaomi Mijia 2C: Increased Suction Power, New Features, and an Updated Brush

Hello to all site readers! I finally received the new Xiaomi Mijia 2C robot vacuum cleaner I ordered from China, the full name of which is the Xiaomi Mijia 2C Sweeping Vacuum Cleaner (STYTJ03ZHM). It is an improved version of its very popular predecessor. Mijia 1CThe robot received a more powerful battery, so the engineers increased suction power, added new features, and even replaced the side brush with a six-beam one. The price is currently in the $165-$170 range at the time of writing, which is a couple of thousand dollars cheaper than the pre-facelift model. I based my pricing on TookFun, where I ordered the robot. The purchase link is at the end of the review. Below, I'll detail what's new in the Xiaomi Mijia 2C and test this robot vacuum cleaner in various conditions, after which I'll express my opinion on whether it's worth buying. So, let's get started!
Equipment
Let's start with a review of the components. In addition to the robot vacuum cleaner, the box contains:
- Charging base.
- Power adapter with Chinese plug.
- Adapter for European standard socket.
- Wet cleaning nozzle with a microfiber cloth installed.
- Documentation in Chinese.
- Tool for cleaning the central brush.
- A small gift from the seller.
The package is sparse, and spare consumables are not provided, as with most other Xiaomi robots.
Appearance
Let's take a look at the Xiaomi Mijia 2C's appearance. The top is virtually identical to its predecessor, with the exception of a silver trim around the perimeter. The height of the case is 81 mm.
The control panel at the top features two mechanical buttons: start/pause and forced return to the charging base. A camera is located nearby, which serves as the robot vacuum's primary navigation device.
The dust container is located under the top lid. It holds up to 550 ml of dry waste. The filtration system includes a mesh filter and a HEPA filter. The dust container lid opens for easy emptying.
Let's take a look at the Xiaomi Mijia 2C's underside. It has four fall protection sensors and an additional optical sensor underneath, which helps the robot navigate its surroundings.
The first thing that catches your eye is the six-beam side brush. I already showed it when I was making it. A review of AliExpress consumables for Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners.
The central brush is made of bristles and petals and is non-detachable, but the cap on one side can be removed for cleaning hair and fur.
The wet cleaning attachment has also received several changes. Firstly, it's now larger and can hold 250 ml of water. Secondly, it's been redesigned, with spring-loaded buttons added closer to the back, increasing the pressure of the cleaning cloth on the floor for better dirt removal. The cleaning cloth itself is now fluffy all over, with no bare spots on the sides, compared to the Mijia 1C.
Otherwise, the tank contains a pump for electronically regulating the water supply. The cloth is attached using a groove and Velcro.
Overall, the build quality of the Xiaomi Mijia 2C is average, as is the price of the robot.
Technical specifications
The key features of the updated Xiaomi Mijia 2C, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Li-Ion battery 3200 mAh.
- Suction power up to 2700 Pa.
- Operating time up to 110 min.
- Cleaning area up to 150 sq.m.
- Dust collector capacity is 550 ml.
- The water tank capacity is 250 ml.
- Obstacle clearance up to 20 mm.
- Dimensions: 350*81 mm.
It's worth noting that the engineers replaced the 2400 mAh battery with a 3200 mAh one, resulting in longer battery life. Furthermore, suction power has increased from 2500 to 2700 Pa, which we'll confirm during testing. Otherwise, the changes are minor.
Functional capabilities
Let's take a look at the Xiaomi Mijia 2C's functionality. This is a robot vacuum cleaner for the Chinese market. Currently, it only connects to the China region, which can cause some issues. Specifically, the app response time is slightly slow. The robot vacuum connects to Wi-Fi without any issues.
On the main control panel, the robot creates a room map, automatically zoning it into rooms, and saving it in memory. Swiping up from the bottom of the screen reveals options such as starting an automatic cleaning process, forcing the robot to return to the charging base, adjusting the suction power, and adjusting the water level on the cleaning cloth.
In the settings section, you can select an experimental map saving mode, set up scheduled cleaning by selecting the time, days of the week, and suction power, as well as enable automatic power boost on carpets, the function to continue cleaning after recharging at the base, and set a time when the robot vacuum cleaner should not disturb you.
You can also enable or disable notifications and choose between two voice packs: Chinese and English. The Xiaomi Mijia 2C doesn't support Russian, so it's best to mute voice notifications using the volume slider.
Additionally, you can view the cleaning log, track the status of consumables, manually control the robot, and enable search by sound signal.
In the map section, you can edit room boundaries, merging and separating them. You can also name each room. The Xiaomi Mijia 2C supports setting virtual walls and no-go zones on the map, including separate no-go zones for wet cleaning mode, which is a plus.
In addition, you can change the robot's name, share control with other users, and update the firmware if necessary.
You can also use the map to select cleaning zones, send the robot to the desired point for local cleaning, and even select rooms for cleaning, which is a plus.
In principle, a room robot has all the basic functions. The only thing missing is the ability to select rooms to clean when setting up a schedule.
Testing
A detailed video review with all the tests has already been prepared and published on our channel. You can watch it:
Navigation
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll test the Xiaomi Mijia 2C's navigation in a room with obstacles. First, the robot vacuum cleaner traverses the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern, then around the perimeter. It didn't get stuck on the dryer, but it also didn't get stuck around the chair legs or the box. Navigation is standard.
When it comes to cleaning within the home, the Mijia 2C cleans room by room in a serpentine pattern, then proceeds to a perimeter check of the entire area and returns to the base. There were no uncleaned areas, and the speed is quite standard for a room robot. The test was successful!
Suction power
The Xiaomi Mijia 2C's suction power was indeed slightly stronger than its predecessor's. This robot even managed to vacuum up some debris from a 4mm-deep crevice, while the previous model could only clean a 2mm-deep crevice. This is more than enough to automatically keep your home clean.
Dry cleaning of laminate flooring
There were no complaints about the dry cleaning performance. The robot picked up all the debris from the floor, leaving only a small amount in the corners, which is a weak point for all round robots. The bulk of the debris was collected in the dust bin, and hair was tangled around the central and side brushes. The test was passed successfully.
Cleaning the carpet
When cleaning the carpet, there were also no questions about the robot; it will handle this task well.
Wet cleaning
The cleaning performance is also good, leaving the stand virtually clean and no streaks on the floor. We can only see a small area along the baseboard, which robots are unable to clean due to their design.
But overall, the robot is suitable for maintaining cleanliness in the home and gentle damp cleaning. Plus, it can vacuum and mop simultaneously, which is a plus.
Obstacle clearance
The Xiaomi Mijia 2C has good obstacle clearance, and can cross a 2-centimeter threshold.
Driving on dark surfaces
However, the robot is wary of dark surfaces, detecting them by differences in height. This is a problem with most Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners and should be taken into account.
Noise level
Finally, we measured the Xiaomi Mijia 2C's noise level in different modes. At minimum power, it was between 56-58 dB. In Standard mode, it reached 62 dB, in Turbo mode, the noise level increased to 64 dB, and at maximum power, the peak was 68.5 dB.
Considering the increased suction power, the noise level is quite acceptable and, in principle, standard for robot vacuum cleaners.
Let's sum it up
Xiaomi Mijia 2C has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he was able to dial 59 out of 100 points And this is a good result considering the price and functionality. It scores 3 points better than its predecessor, the Mijia 1C.
Overall rating of robot vacuum cleaners tested on robovac.washerhouse.com: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.
Now I'll share my personal opinion of the model after a thorough examination. I liked the following:
- Good navigation, including map saving and automatic zoning of the room into rooms.
- Simultaneous dry and wet cleaning.
- Increased suction power.
- The quality of cleaning is above average.
- Updated design of brush and water tank.
- All useful functionality is in the application.
- Automatic power increase on carpets.
- Good cross-country ability.
- The optimal price, considering all the above.
The only disadvantages that can be highlighted are:
- Fear of dark floor coverings.
- Poor equipment.
- You cannot select rooms when setting up a cleaning schedule.
- The fact that the robot is designed for the Chinese market and therefore functions only on Chinese servers, does not speak Russian, and does not synchronize with Yandex.Alice.
Otherwise, for the price, this robot vacuum cleaner is definitely worth considering, and I see no compelling reason not to recommend it. The upgrade from the previous model was truly a success, and in my opinion, it's more reasonable to pay a little extra and choose this model if you're deciding between the Mijia 2C and 1C. However, the predecessor has its advantages, which I'll discuss in a separate video review. It will be available on the channel soon.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. Thank you all for your attention. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!

Good afternoon
Haven't you seen it? Are there spare parts kits for it? I can only find everything for the first model.
Hello, Asya. The consumables for this vacuum cleaner are compatible with the 1c (aka Mop) model or the Dreame F9 model. The only difference is that the 2c has a 6-point brush, while other vacuum cleaners have 3. The consumables installed are original; there may be differences with replicas.
Good afternoon. I don't know where to turn. The vacuum cleaner won't connect to the app (I enabled the China region). I select the desired model from the list, select 2.4 Wi-Fi. I connect to the vacuum cleaner, it starts loading, and nothing happens. What should I do? Without a phone connection, it costs $50 maximum, since it's useless.
In MiHome, after registration, and when you've selected the China region, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and connect the robot to the app (get as close to it as possible). It should find itself. I only got one option: just confirm. Then turn on Wi-Fi. If it doesn't find itself, just search for a robot vacuum cleaner with wet cleaning, maybe that'll work.
Good afternoon. Could you please tell me if the Xiaomi Mijia 2C Sweeping Vacuum Cleaner and Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 are identical or if there are any differences? Thank you.
These are completely different models with different navigation)
I can't decide between the Mijia 2C and the Dreame F9. They're currently priced about the same on AliExpress.
The area is 61 cubic meters. No pets.
The advantages of 2C for me:
A little more suction power
The water tank capacity is slightly larger
A little quieter
Spring-loaded water container
6-beam brush.
The processor is 50% more powerful (why more powerful if it's already enough)
Significantly less energy consumption
Xiaomi directly
The advantages of F9 for me:
The ability to select rooms for cleaning (is this even necessary? You could just prohibit it)
Russian region
Russian voice acting (although I think English is also okay, or you can turn it off)
The dust collector capacity is slightly larger
A larger battery (it doesn't matter in my area, and the operating time hasn't increased much compared to the capacity)
Normal European plug
Knife storage space
In general, I wonder if Xiaomi will have a global version (Russian region, Russian voice)?
Hello! I would choose the Dreame. There's already a global version on 2C—the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Lite.
True, there are 2200 PA in global)
Hello! I'm looking to buy a budget-friendly but high-quality robot vacuum cleaner for around 14,000 rubles. I'm considering the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Lite. Are there any better options worth considering? I need both dry and wet cleaning.
Yes, this is a good option.
Hello. Can the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2s be flashed into Russian? Maybe there is some kind of program or language packs?
Hello, please help me answer my question. We have a Mijia 2C vacuum cleaner. Yesterday, a piece of the front wheel mount broke off, and of course, the wheel itself fell off. We can't get the mount out. I've watched a ton of videos, and they all say it comes out easily, but this one just won't come out. Maybe it's not removable on this model? Please help.
