Top 15 New Robot Vacuum Cleaners of 2022: A Brief Overview of the New Products

Hello readers! This post will focus on new robot vacuum cleaners that will soon go on sale or have already been released in early 2022. Since the major consumer electronics shows have already passed, and all the leading robot vacuum manufacturers have unveiled their flagship models, if any, it's time to announce them and tell you what to expect. I've compiled a list of the top 15 new robot vacuum cleaners for 2022, with a brief description of their features and functionality. So, let's get started!
The video version of this publication is ready, so I recommend taking a look at all the new features:
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra
Our TOP-15 opens with the flagship from Roborock, which was presented at the CES 2022 exhibition. The model was named Roborock S7 MaxV UltraThis robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with virtually all the latest design features that enhance cleaning efficiency and autonomy. Specifically, the robot is equipped with a station that automatically empties dust from the dust bin into a bag located in the station, as well as rinses the cleaning cloths in wet cleaning mode. This allows the robot vacuum cleaner to effectively clean large areas with minimal human intervention.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also features a floor recognition system and an automatic cleaning cloth lift when entering carpets. Additionally, the device boasts powerful suction, precise lidar-based navigation, and highly flexible cleaning schedule settings.
Sales are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2022. The robot will be available in three versions: one with a standard charging station for approximately $800, a Plus version with a self-cleaning station for $1,000, and an Ultra version with a combined rinsing and self-cleaning station for $1,400. So, it's clearly not a "people's" robot vacuum cleaner offering the best price/quality ratio, which is typical of most Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners.
Hobot LEGEE-D7
The next exciting new robot vacuum cleaner coming soon is the Hobot LEGEE-D7.Hobot LEGEE-D7: What's known about the new product and when should it go on sale?Hobot specializes in household robotic floor and window cleaners. Their flagship will go on sale in the second half of 2022 and will cost around $600. For this price, the robot vacuum cleaner boasts lidar for navigation, a D-shaped body for better cleaning of corners, a wide variety of features in the proprietary mobile app, and the ability to simultaneously dry and wet clean.
The Hobot LEGEE-D7 features a unique engineering solution: a suction port is installed in front of the turbo brush to pre-collect debris, hair, and fur. This minimizes the problem of hair getting tangled around the brush. Furthermore, the robot can automatically lift the cleaning cloth when it reaches carpets. So, if you have carpets in your home, the robot can perform a full dry and wet cleaning cycle, leaving them dry and clean. A very practical solution!
Additionally, there are several unique features that enhance cleaning performance and ensure trouble-free operation. For example, there's anti-jamming protection, smart charging, intelligent water spray nozzles that detect floor temperature, and a cleaning mode for areas with light obstacles, such as curtains. I'll cover all of these features in detail in my review, which is planned for release in March or April 2022. I'm sure this robot vacuum will be an interesting purchase for many!
Cecotec Conga 7090 IA
The next new product is the Cecotec Conga 7090 IA. This robot vacuum cleaner was released back in 2021, but only went on sale in Russia a few months ago. What's more, I even managed to get it for review, and a video of its testing will be published on my channel in just a few weeks.
The Cecotec Conga 7090 IA boasts floor recognition thanks to a camera and sensor system installed in the bumper, very high suction power (up to 10,000 Pa), and three different center brushes for different floor types. Additional advantages include app and remote control, simultaneous dry and wet cleaning, and a proprietary mobile app that integrates all the advanced features for flexible cleaning settings. The result is a serious contender in the floor-recognition robot vacuum cleaner segment. The new product is priced at approximately $500 (approximately $650). Considering its stated capabilities, this is a very reasonable price for a robot.
It's also worth noting that in 2022, the Spanish manufacturer Cecotec announced an even more refined model, the Conga 9090 AI. It features virtually the same features as its predecessor, but also includes a self-cleaning station and a vibration module for wet cleaning.
The estimated launch date for sales in Russia is unknown, as is the price, but I don't think it's expected before the end of 2022, and the price will be at least $900, given the price of the already released Cecotec Conga 7090 IA.
Roidmi EVA
Continuing our top 10 new products is probably the most anticipated robot vacuum of 2022, the Roidmi EVA. I believe it's a contender for the title of best robot vacuum in terms of price, quality, and features. Roidmi EVA, part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, boasts lidar navigation, dry and wet mopping functions, a floor recognition system, and a dust collection and rinsing station. In short, it has practically everything you need for effective and autonomous cleaning. And best of all, this robot vacuum can be ordered at launch for approximately $800.
The robot is now available for purchase on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform, where many have already pre-ordered the device. The first reviews of the Roidmi EVA have even appeared, and the Roidmi story is repeating itself compared to its predecessor. Roidmi EVE PlusMore specifically, the functionality is promising, the cleaning quality is high, but the software is a bit rough around the edges. The first issues are already known, and they're detailed online. Nothing critical, but there are some nuances. In any case, for the price, the Roidmi EVA is simply top-notch. We'll see how it performs in tests. I plan to receive a review sample and fully test it by the end of March.
Xbot L7 Smart
In 2021, the first information about the market launch of a new self-cleaning robot vacuum cleaner called the Xbot L7 Smart emerged. And now, the Xbot L7 Smart will go on sale in March 2022.
It boasts lidar navigation, the ability to store up to five unique maps in its memory, an advanced Y-pattern for wet cleaning, and, of course, a self-cleaning station. Furthermore, the manufacturer states that the Xbot L7 Smart supports voice assistant control (including Yandex.Alice), can automatically increase suction power on carpets, resume cleaning after charging at the base station, and, of course, supports virtual walls and no-go zones.
With a suction power of up to 3300 Pa, and thanks to its combined water and dust container, the Xbot L7 Smart can vacuum and mop simultaneously. This provides a complete set of essential features for automatically maintaining a clean home. The launch price will be around $480.
Ecovacs Deebot OMNI X1
The well-known manufacturer of robotic vacuum cleaners, Ecovacs, also announced its flagship product called the Ecovacs at CES 2022. Ecovacs Deebot OMNI X1This latest addition to our top 10 list is capable of self-cleaning and rinsing its cleaning pads at the station. The station includes both clean and dirty water tanks and a dirt collection bag. Furthermore, the Ecovacs Deebot OMNI X1 boasts lidar navigation, a floor recognition system, and simultaneous dry and wet cleaning. Unlike the Roborock S7 MaxV, its direct competitor, the Ecovacs Deebot OMNI X1 features two round cleaning pads, but they don't lift up on carpets.
The OMNI X1 boasts cutting-edge features and specifications. However, at the time of writing, the robot vacuum cleaner is intended for the Chinese market, so connecting to the mobile app is challenging. Furthermore, the app interface is only in English. Meanwhile, the robot's price is in the $1,150-$1,300 range (which is $1,500-$1,700), and buying a robot vacuum cleaner that's not optimized for the domestic market doesn't make sense for that price. So, in this race, Roborock is the early winner. But we'll know for sure after testing the two robots, which I hope to review before the end of 2022.
Dreame Bot W10
The popular company Dreame, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, also released a new product called the Dreame Bot W10. It was announced back in 2021, but sales didn't begin until early 2022. It's priced between $630 and $800 ($800-$1,000). This is one of the new robot vacuum cleaners that I've already reviewed.
The robot's main feature is the cleaning station for the cleaning pads. The pads are round and don't have a lifting mechanism for carpets, making it more suitable for cleaning hard floors. Lidar navigation is used, and the body is more D-shaped, which helps sweep debris out of corners. The Dreame Bot W10 is available in a global version, so the app and voice prompts are translated into Russian, making it easier to use. Overall, it's quite an interesting device and worth considering, but in my opinion, it's a bit pricey. The Dreame Bot W10 boasts high-quality dry cleaning and decent floor cleaning, but there are some caveats when it comes to wet cleaning. I've covered all the details in the review: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/obzory/dreame/robovac-dreame-bot-w10.html.
Incidentally, Mijia has released a virtually identical robot vacuum cleaner, the Xiaomi Mijia Self-Cleaning Robot Vacuum-Mop Pro. Its station is identical in design to the Dreame. Minor changes have been made to the robot's design. It's completely D-shaped, and the cleaning module is identical to the Dreame Bot W10's. I've already ordered this robot vacuum from China and will soon be arriving for review, after which I plan to compare the two!
Garlyn SR-800 Max
Starting in March 2022, the Garlyn SR-800 Max robot vacuum cleaner will be available on the market, continuing GARLYN's line of intelligent home robots. This new product features a state-of-the-art laser navigation system and obstacle detection in all lighting conditions, a simultaneous dry and wet cleaning function, control via a mobile app and a compact remote control, and, equally important, comprehensive after-sales support from the manufacturer, a feature few manufacturers can boast.
Unfortunately, there's no self-cleaning or rinsing station. However, the robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with all the necessary features for automatically maintaining cleanliness in your home: it stores up to five maps, supports virtual walls and no-go zones, runs on a schedule, and has a battery for up to 2.5 hours of continuous cleaning. Most importantly, it can actually vacuum and mop simultaneously, meaning you won't have to run it twice. The new product will cost $400-$450.
Genio Laser L700
Genio also unveiled its new product, which will go on sale closer to April 2022. The robot is called the Genio Laser L700 and is a slightly simplified version of the flagship model. Genio Laser L800, which we reviewed. This robot boasts lidar navigation, dry and wet cleaning functions, suction power of up to 2700 Pa, and control via a proprietary mobile app.
For more effective cleaning, the Genio Laser L700 features a Y-pattern in wet cleaning mode. Furthermore, the robot can continue cleaning after recharging at the base station, supports virtual walls and no-go zones, and offers flexible scheduled cleaning settings. The app lets you adjust the power and water flow rate, as well as select specific rooms for cleaning.
The Genio Laser L700 is priced at $270, which is quite reasonable considering its navigation system and features. A detailed review and test of this robot vacuum is planned for late March, just before its launch.
Midea S8+
Another new product that is already on its way to us for review is the Midea S8+. This robot vacuum cleaner is identical in appearance Midea M7 Pro, only equipped with a self-cleaning station.
Based on how the M7 Pro performed during testing, the new Midea S8+ is a fairly powerful robot vacuum cleaner with excellent dry and wet cleaning performance, all the necessary features in the proprietary app, and a robust navigation system. The Midea S8+ comes with a vibration module for enhanced floor cleaning. A self-cleaning station allows you to empty the robot's dust bin into a bag on the station itself. The Midea S8+ boasts high build quality, and its cleaning module is quite efficient.
This robot vacuum cleaner is currently available for sale on AliExpress, priced at around $500, which is quite reasonable considering its high power, self-cleaning station, and modern functionality.
Eufy X8 Hybrid
In September 2021, the first official announcement of the flagship Eufy X8 Hybrid emerged. And now, in early 2022, this robot vacuum cleaner has launched internationally. At the time of writing, its price is $650. There is currently no information on when the Eufy X8 Hybrid will be available for sale.
Speaking of the robot itself, its main feature is its dual suction turbines, rather than the single one found in other robot vacuums. Each turbine generates up to 2000 Pa of suction power, for a total of 4000 Pa. The robot is equipped with a 400 ml dust collector and a 250 ml water tank, allowing the Eufy X8 Hybrid to vacuum and mop simultaneously. Lidar is used for navigation.
Among the manufacturer's stated capabilities, it's worth highlighting the ability to store multiple maps in memory, automatically increase power on carpets, and support for restricted areas.
TCL Sweeva 6500
At CES 2022 in January, TCL, a company popular for its televisions, also unveiled a new line of robotic vacuum cleaners. Now, the brand has decided to establish itself as a robotic vacuum manufacturer. Their flagship, the TCL Sweeva 6500, features lidar for navigation, a self-emptying station for the dust bin, app control, and a dry cleaning function (apparently no wet cleaning).
The characteristics and basic functionality are at the level of the same Roidmi EVE Plus, Viomi Alpha S9, and also Proscenic M8 Pro, which were actively sold in 2021 and are still in demand, and are also capable of mopping floors. The manufacturer hasn't implemented any innovative solutions. However, the TCL Sweeva 6500 is quite reasonably priced. This robot vacuum is already available and costs between $300 and $350 ($400-$450).
If the manufacturer provides proper support and service, the TCL Sweeva 6500 will be able to earn the trust of the audience and be considered one of the best inexpensive robotic vacuum cleaners with a self-cleaning station.
Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Ultra
Xiaomi also announced another new product called the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Ultra. This robot vacuum cleaner is very similar to Dreame Bot Z10 ProIt features lidar for navigation, an object detection system on the mechanical bumper, a dry waste self-cleaning station, the same 4000 Pa suction power, and a similar wet cleaning module. Even the shape and capacity of the tank are the same.
Apparently, the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Ultra is already the international version of the robot vacuum cleaner, so we can expect it to operate via local servers, as well as a full Russian localization. The price and exact launch date are still unknown. We sincerely hope that the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Ultra will be cheaper than its twin, the Dreame Bot Z10 Pro; otherwise, there's little point in paying extra.
Yes, and in addition to the Ultra version, Xiaomi announced two more products: the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 and the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Lite. They are indistinguishable from the original. Mijia 1C And Mijia 2C, which were released earlier. Again, these are most likely simply international versions of the robots, which lack the shortcomings of the Chinese versions.
360 S8 Plus
A new robot vacuum cleaner from the popular Chinese brand 360 has appeared on AliExpress. The model is called the 360 S8 Plus and is priced at approximately $600 at launch.
For this price, the device boasts lidar navigation, a self-cleaning station for dry debris, and both dry and wet cleaning functions. The manufacturer also claims an obstacle avoidance system. A sensor is visible on the front bumper. However, what kind of sensor it is remains unclear. It's even less clear how sensitive it is, whether it can recognize objects on the floor, or even detect them. It's possible it's a standard IR sensor that only detects large objects in front of the robot.
Otherwise, the specifications and functionality are quite standard for lidar robot vacuums. So, if the obstacle detection system isn't up to par with the Dreame Bot Z10 Pro, it's unclear why it's worth the extra cost compared to the Roidmi EVE Plus, which has an identical design.
Viomi Alpha 2 Pro
The final new product of 2022 I'd like to talk about is the Viomi Alpha 2 Pro. At the time of writing, this robot vacuum cleaner is only available in China, with prices starting at $550. It's not yet known whether the robot will be available in Russia anytime soon, or even on AliExpress with delivery from China.
Regarding the robot itself, it is equipped with a lidar system for navigation, a station for emptying dry waste from the dust bin, dry and wet cleaning functions, and a floor object detection system. Again, it's not yet clear what kind of sensors are installed in the mechanical bumper or how accurately they detect or even recognize objects on the floor. However, the manufacturer claims the robot can detect up to 150 different types of obstacles in its path. Among its specifications, a notable feature is its increased suction power of 4000 Pa.
At first glance, the remaining specifications and features are no different from the previously released Viomi Alpha UV (S9), which I reviewed. In any case, for this price, this robot vacuum could be an interesting purchase if the object recognition system proves effective.
So, we've reviewed the new robotic vacuum cleaners of 2022, which will appear or have already appeared on the market. As you can see, technology is being modernized, and new functional capabilities and design solutions are being introduced. This is certainly encouraging and gives hope that robotic vacuum cleaners will soon completely replace routine manual cleaning, which takes a lot of time and effort. That's all I have for now. If I missed any new products, please share them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
