Comparison of the BEST Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Cleaners of 2024 (OMNI Series)

Comparison of the BEST Xiaomi Robot Vacuums of 2024Comparison of the BEST Xiaomi Robot Vacuums of 2024

In this review, I'll compare the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners as of March 2024. Specifically, the Xiaomi Mijia OMNI B101CN, OMNI 1S, OMNI 2, and Mijia M30 Pro. These are the top-of-the-line models in terms of design and functionality. They're also visually very similar and roughly in the same price range. However, many people are confused about the real differences between these robots and which Xiaomi robot vacuum is best for different applications. That's what we'll discuss below. So, let's get started!

Cost comparison

First, let's compare the robots' prices. The most affordable is the Xiaomi MIjia OMNI 2. Its price starts at $350 and goes up to $470.

Slightly more expensive is the Xiaomi Mijia OMNI B101CN, which can be ordered for $380-$510, depending on the store and delivery speed.

Xiaomi MIjia OMNI 1S costs from $410 to $500.

And the most expensive in the Xiaomi lineup is the new M30 Pro, priced between $520 and $600.

That is, we see that the price segment of the compared robotic vacuum cleaners is roughly $400-$500

Design features

Let's take a look at the robots' designs. I've provided a detailed comparison of all the components in the table. If anything is unclear, you can ask in the comments, and I'll provide a detailed answer. I'll just offer a few key comments regarding the comparison of design features.

Key features include the new Xiaomi Mijia M30 Pro, which features the most accurate floor recognition system, proven effective in testing. This system is equipped with an LED backlight to prevent the robot from becoming blind in complete darkness.

The robot's station also features self-cleaning blades for the turbo brush, removing tangled hair and fur. This is one of the new product's key features. However, the central brush unit is fixed in place, unlike its predecessors. This will play a nasty trick on the robot, as will be demonstrated during testing.

The OMNI 2 and M30 Pro lack a wall sensor, which is a detriment to the updated robots. They tend to brush against furniture and baseboards, albeit gently. However, these two robots have an improved algorithm for cleaning floors along baseboards by rotating their bodies.

Only the Xiaomi Mijia OMNi 2 lacks a carpet sensor. Because of this, the robot cannot automatically detect carpets and lift the cleaning cloths on them. However, in the app, you can manually set carpet zones where the robot should lift the cleaning cloths.

I'd also like to point out that the Mijia OMNI 2 and M30 Pro have larger water tanks in the docking station. This is a significant advantage for those who don't plan to connect their robot vacuum to a sewer or water supply.

For those planning to connect to utility networks, the increased capacity of the detergent tank on the Mijia OMNI 2 and M30 Pro will be an advantage.

In this regard, the first version of OMNI B101CN loses out, as it does not support connection to communications and is not able to automatically mix detergent into water.

Testing

And the most important thing to compare is, of course, cleaning quality and test results. Let's go through them step by step. A detailed comparison of the robots in action has already been published on the channel robovac.washerhouse.com:

I have no complaints about the navigation of any of the robots. They clean quickly, navigate large areas well, and leave no uncleaned areas.

Suction power is already one of the main parameters considered when choosing a vacuum cleaner. The table shows the stated suction power and the results of its testing on a test bench with gaps of varying depths.

OMNI 1 (B101CN) OMNI 1S (B116) OMNI 2 (C102CN) Mijia M30 Pro (C107)
Claimed suction power up to 4000 Pa up to 4000 Pa up to 6000 Pa up to 7000 Pa
Real power 10 mm 4 mm 4 mm 2 mm

Here we see that the Xiaomi Mijia OMNI B101CN turned out to be the most powerful in reality. This is practically its main advantage in this comparison. The OMNI 1S and OMNI 2 have weaker, but still high, suction power. The Xiaomi Mijia M30 Pro has standard suction power, but it's still sufficient for automatically maintaining a clean home. I believe the reason for the reduced power is precisely because the central brush unit is non-floating, resulting in losses due to lack of contact with the surface. Apparently, these losses were observed on the test bench.

The quality of dry cleaning is approximately the same for all robots.

Carpet cleaning has its challenges. The Xiaomi Mijia OMNI B101CN and 1S perform well. The Mijia M30 Pro also handles the task, but due to power loss and a fixed turbo brush, it will require more passes to clean a medium-pile carpet. The Mijia OMNI 2, however, has the most serious issues. The bumper's sensor system detects the pile as an obstacle, preventing the robot from moving across the carpet and instead backing away or spinning in place. Moreover, these sensors cannot be disabled. The robot is unable to function on medium-pile carpets.

Robots perform wet cleaning at roughly the same level when it comes to household conditions and simple tasks.

Only the Xiaomi Mijia M30 Pro managed to remove stubborn, dried-on stains. Its predecessors struggled in this test. However, I should note that all the compared robots are primarily designed for everyday household use. They are not full-fledged floor cleaners or specialized mopping robots, so don't expect them to do anything they weren't designed for.

The quality of the wipes being washed is roughly the same for all robots. It's impossible to judge visually, but it seems the new Mijia M30 Pro should be better, as its station heats the water.

The robots have equally good cross-country ability; they are capable of overcoming thresholds up to 2 cm high.

However, not all models have trouble driving over black surfaces. The Xiaomi Mijia Omni B101CN, 1S, and OMNI 2 have no problem with this. Similarly, the Mijia M30 Pro, with the obstacle avoidance system enabled, is wary of black carpets and won't drive over them. It has no problem with black hard surfaces.

The last parameter I compared was noise levels in different modes. The data is included in a table for easy reference:

OMNI 1 (B101CN) OMNI 1S (B116) OMNI 2 (C102CN) Mijia M30 Pro (C107)
58-73 dB 57.5-73 dB 57-71 dB 57-72 dB

We see that the noise level is approximately the same.

Let's sum it up

I've compared the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners of 2024, and now I'm ready to decide which one is best based on test results and other parameters.

So, definitely, if there is no strong emphasis on dry cleaning and power, then in my opinion, in principle, the best Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner as of March 2024 is the new product Mijia M30 ProIt features a more accurate object recognition and avoidance system, an improved cleaning algorithm along the baseboards, an automatic hair removal system, and a drain connection. While it does lose power, it's still sufficient for everyday use. Moreover, it performed well in tests both on hard surfaces and on carpets. And most importantly, it's the only one of the four robots compared that can handle tough stains.

If you need a robot vacuum cleaner with a station, but one that can vacuum carpets as efficiently as possible, then this is the clear leader. Xiaomi MIjia OMNI B101CNThis is the only reason I would choose it over the four models I compared. It's simply because it's more powerful. So, as a robot vacuum cleaner for dry cleaning, it's the best.

Mijia OMNI 2 – a walk-through model whose only advantage is its ability to clean floors along the baseboard, compared to the Mijia OMNI B101CN and 1S. If this feature is crucial to you, but you're not willing to pay extra for the Mijia M30 Pro, this device is also suitable for MOSTLY wet cleaning.

Well then Xiaomi MIjia OMNI 1S – This is a compromise between power and autonomy. It connects to the water supply and sewer system, yet is slightly more powerful than the Mijia M30 Pro. Considering the comparison parameters in the tables, this option may be the best choice for some.

As I've already mentioned, I believe the Xiaomi Mijia M30 Pro still deserves the title of best robot vacuum cleaner of 2024. Its 170-point score is indirect evidence of this. For context, the Mijia 1S scored 167 points, the Xiaomi Mijia Omni B101CN 166 points, and the Xiaomi MIjia OMNI 2 154 points. I've included links to the scoring algorithm and the overall ranking of the tested robot vacuum cleaners in the video description.

On that note, I'd like to conclude this comparison. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
