Dreame Bot X10 Pro vs. Dreame Bot L10s Ultra: What's the Difference and Which One to Choose?

Dreame Bot X10 Pro vs. Dreame Bot L10s UltraDreame Bot X10 Pro vs. Dreame Bot L10s Ultra

In this review, I decided to compare two top robot vacuum cleaners from Dreame: the 2022 flagship Dreame Bot L10s Ultra and the new product of 2023 Dreame Bot X10 ProThe robots have many similarities, but also significant differences, despite a small price difference. Therefore, many will be interested to know the real differences between the new Dreame Bot X10 Pro and the Dreame Bot L10s Ultra and which robot vacuum cleaner is better to choose in 2023. Let's take it one step at a time!

Regionalism

The first and most important difference between the robots is that Dreame Bot L10s Ultra is the global version, which works seamlessly in all countries. It also supports a wide range of voice packages, including Russian.

The Dreame Bot X10 Pro is a version for the Chinese market with a number of limitations. The main limitation is the robot's regional lock, which completely disables the ability to customize cleaning parameters, leaving only the quick access menu functions: start/stop cleaning and forcibly returning the robot to the charging station. This means that it will effectively clean the entire available area, but you won't be able to configure anything out of the box.

Currently, it's possible to bypass regional locks on both Android and iOS smartphones. This means all the functionality becomes available with a few simple steps. I've included a link to instructions in the video description. However, there's no guarantee that this will continue to work.

Price

Comparing the prices of the Dreame Bot X10 Pro and L10s Ultra, I'd like to point out that the X10 Pro is currently available on Chinese platforms and from local sellers in Russia. The price ranges from $600-$650 if ordered directly from China, or $700-$800 if purchased from local sellers, who may even provide a local warranty.

The Dreame Bot L10s Ultra is more expensive, ranging from $90 to $1,150. It's sold on AliExpress, popular Russian marketplaces, and even in large chain stores. It also comes with a full seller's warranty.

We see that the Dreame Bot X10 Pro is more cost-effective.

Appearance and design

Now let's compare the design of the Dreame Bot X10 Pro and the Dreame Bot L10s Ultra. The new model comes in a gray-bronze color, while its predecessor is white. This makes it easier to tell which is which.

Dreame Bot L10s Ultra and X10 Pro

Let's start with the robot vacuums themselves. They're both round and both feature floor recognition systems. This consists of an active camera and 3D sensors on the sides. The X10 Pro, however, has LED lights on both sides of the camera, which improves object recognition accuracy in complete darkness. The effectiveness of this solution has been proven in tests, but more on that later.

In both models, the dust container is located under the top cover, which has been slightly modified on the new model and is held in place by magnets. The dust containers themselves and the filtration system are identical. The 350 ml container has a mesh filter and a HEPA filter. They are interchangeable. The water tank on the compared robots is hidden inside the body and holds up to 80 ml of liquid, which is automatically pumped in at the station.

The robots' bottoms have a minimal difference, which lies in the type of central brush. The Dreame Bot L10s Ultra has a silicone brush, while the Dreame Bot X10 Pro has a bristle-and-petal brush. The silicone brush is easier to clean from hair and pet hair, but is less effective at picking up debris on carpets. The bristle-and-petal brush, on the other hand, is more difficult to clean, but is better at cleaning carpets. It's up to you to decide which is more important, but the most important thing is that the brushes are interchangeable.

If necessary, you can separately order the brush that best suits your conditions.

Otherwise, the robots each have one side brush, four anti-fall sensors, a carpet sensor, and two rotating cleaning pads that automatically lift up on carpets. Incidentally, the cleaning pads are the same size, but the holders are different and not interchangeable. The X10 Pro's holders are equipped with magnets on both sides, which I'll highlight later.

The stations of the compared robot vacuums differ significantly. You've probably noticed that the Dreame Bot X10 Pro station is significantly larger. These dimensions will be detailed later in the specifications. This is primarily due to the larger tank capacity. The Dreame Bot L10s Ultra has a 2.5-liter tank, while the Dreame Bot X10 Pro has 4 and 4.5-liter tanks.

Comparison of tank volumes

Both stations also feature a separate detergent reservoir. The L10s Ultra has a 300 ml capacity, while the X10 Pro has a 450 ml capacity. The new model conveniently stores cleaning tools for both the robot and the station itself. Furthermore, the X10 Pro's clean water tank includes a silver-based disinfection module. Most importantly, the Dreame Bot X10 Pro can be connected to both sewer and water lines with the purchase of a dedicated module. The L10s Ultra, however, cannot.

Furthermore, the L10s Ultra has a rather impractical platform with a removable tray without a bottom. Cleaning this station is not very convenient.

The X10 Pro, on the other hand, has a removable tray with a bottom that collects all dirt, making cleaning the station much easier. Furthermore, the robot's access ramp, which is also prone to heavy dirt, is also removable.

The self-cleaning bags are arranged in the same way, except that the Dreame Bot X10 Pro bag is slightly larger and a spare bag is conveniently stored nearby.

Another feature that deserves special attention is the Dreame Bot X10 Pro's removable wipe holder feature. When needed, the robot automatically leaves the wipe holder inside the tray and moves out for a thorough dry cleaning.

This ensures that carpets won't get wet during cleaning. This means the robot can vacuum the entire accessible area first, and then mop the floors where there are no carpets. This is a very smart solution, and this is actually the reason why the cleaning cloth holders are not interchangeable.

As a result, we see that the Dreame Bot X10 Pro outperforms the Dreame Bot L10s Ultra on all fronts. The engineers have done a significant amount of work over the past year. The only advantage the predecessor has is a more compact station, which is essential for those who need it.

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of the Dreame Bot X10 Pro and Dreame Bot L10s Ultra are summarized in a table for easy comparison:

As you can see, the Dreame Bot L10s Ultra's only advantage lies in the more compact size of the robot and the station. The new X10 Pro is more powerful and equipped with larger tanks.

Functional capabilities

As for the functions, I also compared them in the table:

Dreame Bot X10 Pro Dreame Bot L10s Ultra

Yandex.Alice Support +/- +
Built-in proprietary voice assistant +
Automatic removal of napkin holders at the station +
Camera illumination in low light conditions +

In terms of functionality, I'll only highlight two points. The Dreame Bot X10 Pro only supports Yandex.Alice on Android smartphones, and even then, only when controlled via Mi Home by vevs. On the L10s Ultra, however, Yandex.Alice syncs seamlessly with the DreameHome app when the Russian region is selected. Furthermore, the new voice assistant isn't adapted for Russian commands, so its inclusion in the updated model is a debatable advantage, but it's still worth mentioning simply as a new feature.

Let me reiterate that all the features in the table can be used on the X10 Pro, even despite the region lock. But this is a hassle that won't be present when using the global Dreame Bot L10s Ultra.

Test results

I'll also compare the test results of the Dreame Bot X10 Pro and Dreame Bot L10s Ultra separately. I've written everything down below, but it's best to watch the detailed video comparison, which clearly demonstrates all the results:

Both robots navigate well. They clean quickly, sweeping around objects and furniture. There are no uncleaned areas left.

The object recognition system and the artificial intelligence itself are excellent. However, the L10s Ultra is blind in the dark, and object recognition doesn't work. The robot navigates around objects solely using 3D sensors, which are independent of room lighting but are less sensitive to objects on the floor. The Dreame Bot X10 Pro, on the other hand, recognizes objects perfectly even in complete darkness, as it illuminates the cleaning area.

The Dreame Bot X10 Pro clearly wins in terms of power, both in its stated specifications and in testing on a dedicated rig. The new product was able to vacuum debris from a 10 mm gap. The Dreame Bot L10s Ultra, however, could only vacuum debris from a 4 mm gap, even with the bristle and petal brush attached. This means it's weaker, although its power is sufficient for household cleaning.

The robots' dust collection performance on hard surfaces is similar, as the cleaning module and body shape are identical. The robots perform well in dry cleaning, with only corners left unswept due to their shape.

The Dreame Bot X10 Pro performed better on carpets thanks to its higher power and bristle-petal brush. It cleans carpets noticeably better than its predecessor.

Both robots do a great job of removing dirt, but tough stains aren't their strong suit. The cloths don't press very hard on the floor, so removing stains can be difficult and require multiple passes over the area.

The quality of self-cleaning and rinsing of the wipes is equally good, there are no complaints at all.

The robots confidently navigate 2 cm-high thresholds with wipes and are not afraid of black surfaces. Everything is equally good here.

Regarding noise levels, the Dreame Bot X10 Pro is even slightly quieter, despite its higher power. Its noise level ranges from 53 to 67 dB, depending on the selected mode. The Dreame Bot L10s Ultra, on the other hand, averages 56 to 67 dB.

Personal opinion

What's the bottom line? The result is a significant upgrade to an already excellent robot vacuum. The Dreame Bot X10 Pro is more powerful, more attentive, and more autonomous than its predecessor. It's also cheaper and, in my opinion, prettier. But the fact remains: the Dreame Bot X10 Pro is a Chinese version of the robot vacuum, and purchasing it is quite risky, as Dreame engineers could at any time further tighten the regional lock, turning the robot into a dual-function device: cleaning the entire accessible area and returning to the station. I don't think it's possible to remove the buttons on the body and station from the control panel.

So, whether to take the risk or not is up to you. Personally, I've just switched to the Dreame Bot X10 Pro from the Dreame Bot L10s Ultra, which I used for about six months. But you won't notice any difference in dry and wet cleaning performance on hard floors. What won me over is the ability to connect to both water and sewer lines, the higher power output (since I have carpets on the floor, it really cleans them better), and the excellent object recognition in complete darkness. If these factors are important to you, it's worth weighing the pros and cons.

Finally, I'll answer two questions you might have. The first is the global version of the Dreame Bot X10 Pro. I've received information from various sources close to the brand that a global version is coming. But when it will be released, and most importantly, how much it will cost, remains unclear. I predict it will be available by fall or even winter, and will start at $1,300. That's almost twice the price of the Chinese version, which is already perfectly usable. So, whether you wait and pay extra, or start using it and save significantly, is up to you.

And secondly, the flagship Dreame Bot X20 Pro Plus, which was released almost simultaneously with the X10 Pro. Many are convinced that if you're going to buy the Chinese version, it's the most functional and effective one. But there are some caveats here too. Firstly, this robot is more expensive than the X10 Pro, roughly $200-$250 higher. Secondly, it's unclear how much more complex the region lock is for the top-of-the-line model. It's possible that the same functions that work on the X10 Pro won't work on the X20 Pro Plus, meaning it won't work at all outside of China. I'll definitely be testing the X20 this year, but I don't yet know when exactly.

If you're more interested in the Draeme Bot L10s Ultra, which is also worth considering in 2023 and is especially relevant because it comes with a full warranty and is not regionally locked, the purchase links are below.

On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!
