Dreame H14 Dual: 180° tilt, app, detergent dispenser. BEST wet/dry vacuum cleaner of 2024?!

The latest new product to review is the Dreame H14 Dual upright wet/dry vacuum cleaner. Like the previously released H12 Dual, it comes equipped with dry cleaning attachments, making it a fully functional handheld vacuum cleaner for home use. But the extra attachments aren't the only highlight of this vacuum cleaner. Engineers have updated the design and construction, adding the ability to wash floors horizontally, illuminate the cleaning area, boosted suction power, improved self-cleaning technology on the base, and even added the ability to customize cleaning parameters in the app. Overall, this is a significant upgrade, and for such a comprehensive set of features, you'll expect to pay around $600-650. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Dreame H14 Dual, highlight its pros and cons, and then share my thoughts. Let's get started!

The package is good! All the necessary accessories and spare parts are included! Let's move on!
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Dreame H14 Dual's design. The wet/dry vacuum cleaner itself has a familiar design. The cleaning module is located at the bottom. Above it are the dirty and clean water tanks. An additional detergent tank has been added. Above that is the control handle.
So, the cleaning module is one roller that comes out close to the edge of the body on both sides.
The top cover is removable. It has teeth, presumably for detangling the roller. However, there's a gap of several millimeters between the cover and the roller, meaning there's no contact. The roller is removed by pressing the release button. It is mounted on a special holder with a rotating cross.
The roller's structure is quite familiar—soft bristles. However, the manufacturer claims that the bristles also contain silver ions to protect against the spread of germs and bacteria.
Behind the roller there is another metal comb for detangling hair, a suction hole and a scraper for collecting residual liquid from the floor.
Like the Dreame H13 Pro, the new model features a cleaning zone illumination feature. This will improve cleaning efficiency in low-light areas.
What's also interesting is that the vacuum cleaner's wheels are equipped with motors that help the Dreame H14 Dual glide across the floor when steered. This technology is called GlideWheel.
Let's move on to an overview of the remaining components. The clean water tank holds 880 ml. It contains a coarse water filter and an electrolytic water sterilization module that disinfects the water and kills various viruses. In short, this wet/dry vacuum cleaner has at least two levels of disinfection.
The dirty water tank holds 650 ml. It has two maximum water level markings: one for vertical and one for horizontal placement. In the horizontal position, the sensors are triggered at 450 ml. A HEPA filter with a mesh and a coarse filter are installed inside.
Above the clean water tank is a 120 ml detergent tank, which is automatically mixed with clean water.
On the back of the vacuum cleaner, you'll find a button that disables voice commands and pairs the vacuum with the app. Below it, the engineers installed a rotating wheel to allow the vacuum to glide horizontally.
I'll also add that thanks to the updated design, the vacuum cleaner can be used completely lowered to the floor. It easily passes through gaps up to 14.5 cm wide until the handle rests on top of the body.
I'll add that suction doesn't turn off in the horizontal position, unlike with the previously reviewed Roborock Flexi Pro. That's a plus.
There are three control buttons on the handle: power on/off, switching operating modes and starting the self-cleaning function.
All information is displayed on an informative display. The vacuum cleaner itself features four operating modes: automatic, disinfection, suction, and a user mode, which can be customized in the app.
In automatic mode, the Dreame H14 Dual automatically adjusts the suction power depending on how dirty the floor is.
And here's the vacuum cleaner's main feature: press the button next to the display and pull the main unit toward you, which unfastens. Attach the dust bag and the desired attachment, and you've got a fully functional dry vacuum cleaner.
The handheld vacuum cleaner has two control buttons: power on/off, and switching between standard and maximum operating modes.
Let's look at the additional attachments included in the kit.
The main floor nozzle is equipped with a backlight.
It features a roller with short bristles. This type of roller has proven effective for cleaning carpets, but it also picks up debris well on hard floors. The roller is easily removed from the attachment. Behind it is a comb for detangling hair and fur.
The upholstery cleaning attachment is equipped with a turbo brush with bristle inserts. This turbo brush can be removed from the housing for cleaning.
Crevice tool with retractable bristles. The design is familiar.
As for the dust collector, its filtration system consists of a HEPA filter, two foam filters, and a cyclone with a mesh.
The last thing to consider is the base. It charges the Dreame H14 Dual, cleans the rollers with hot water, and dries them with warm air.
All the pros and cons of the design will be discussed during the final review. Let's move on!
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame H14 Dual, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Li-Ion battery, 4900 mAh
- Power consumption: 380 W
- Suction power: up to 18000 Pa
- Working time: up to 40/70 min
- Clean water tank: 880 ml
- Dirty water tank: 650 ml
- Detergent tank: 120 ml.
- Self-cleaning temperature: 60 degrees
- Roller drying temperature: 60 degrees
- Noise level: 72-86 dB
- Weight: 6 kg / 2.9 kg.
I personally tested the noise level. When mopping the floor, it ranges from 72-76 dB, and when using a handheld vacuum, it reaches 86 dB. The noise level is slightly elevated, but the suction power is also industry-leading. These parameters are interrelated.
The fully assembled wet/dry vacuum weighs approximately 6 kg. The fully assembled dry vacuum weighs 2,896 grams, including the main unit (1,730 grams), the extension tube (287 grams), and the floor nozzle (879 grams).
I also tested the Dreame H14 Dual's battery life in dry cleaning mode at maximum power with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed 30 minutes and 30 seconds of operation, which is a very impressive result.
Functional capabilities
I'd like to highlight the Dreame H14 Dual's features separately. This upright vacuum cleaner can be controlled via a proprietary mobile app.
It allows you to flexibly customize cleaning parameters. For example, you can select an operating mode and adjust user settings (such as suction power and water flow rate to the roller). You can also customize the roller drying mode, schedule drying, adjust the amount of detergent added, adjust the wheel steering speed, monitor the status of consumables, and select the voice package language. Additionally, the Dreame H14 Dual supports voice commands in Russian.
Testing
A detailed video review with all tests has already been prepared and published on the channel:
And finally, let's move on to the tests. We'll check how well this vacuum cleaner performs its primary function. There will be several tests, from simple to more complex.
Washing the floor
The Dreame H14 Dual handles everyday floor cleaning well. In automatic mode, it automatically adjusts suction power based on the degree of dirt on the floor. Liquid is thoroughly sucked into the dirty water tank, leaving no streaks or puddles.
You can also use the vacuum cleaner to pick up liquids and mixtures, like in my case, a mixture of raw egg and flour. Very convenient.
The vacuum cleaner removes dirt with ease, leaving no streaks or marks. Moreover, the Dreame H14 Dual can clean dirt right up to the baseboard thanks to its dual-sided roller.
In reality, the blind spot is about 5 mm, while most similar devices have a blind spot of 15-20 mm. Still, Dreame's engineers still have room for improvement.
However, it does remove tough stains with some difficulty. It does take some time. In my case, I was able to remove the stains in about 6 minutes, using the included cleaning solution. The result isn't the best, but it still got the job done faster than most other similar products I tested.
After all the tests, we checked the self-cleaning performance of the wet/dry vacuum cleaner, and here again, the Dreame H14 Dual did not disappoint. It cleans dirt and debris effectively. This is thanks to the heated water and the alternately rotating roller, which improves cleaning performance. And most interestingly, even after such a challenging test, the cleaning module was completely clean, no dirt remained behind the holder, and the roller was completely clean. Self-cleaning is very well implemented in this model. The test was passed successfully!
The drying is also really effective. After 30 minutes, the roller is completely dry! Bravo, Dreame engineers!
I'll also show you how the Dreame H14 Dual handles dry cleaning when using additional attachments.
Suction power
As for suction power, at maximum power, the vacuum was able to thoroughly suck up debris from a 35 mm gap. So, I can say it's a powerful upright vacuum. In fact, it even outperformed its direct competitor, the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Dreame H14 Dual picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate floor: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. Overall, the device performed well, except for larger debris like cat litter pellets, as it doesn't have special grooves in front of the roller for larger debris, like the Dreame Z30. The roller does get tangled up with fur and hair, but it's easy to clean.
Carpet cleaning
The vacuum cleaner also does a good job of cleaning carpets thanks to its well-designed roller. That's a plus.
Using additional attachments
Finally, I'd like to add that the additional attachments allow you to clean a sofa, reach areas the main nozzle can't reach, and even clean the inside of a car if necessary. In short, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Personal opinion
The Dreame H14 Dual upright vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight its pros and cons, then share my personal opinion. Here's what I liked:
- High-quality floor washing and dirt removal.
- It washes the floor along the baseboard better than many similar products.
- High-quality self-cleaning of the roller with hot water.
- Complete and very fast drying of the roller with hot air.
- It can be tilted to a completely horizontal position, without turning off the suction.
- Automatic mixing of detergent.
- The presence of a removable hand-held vacuum cleaner and a set of attachments for complete dry cleaning.
- High-quality waste collection on both hard surfaces and carpets.
- In reality, the suction power is high, both in figures and according to test results.
- Automatic power increase when the vacuum cleaner detects dirt.
- Illumination of the cleaning area in the wet vacuum cleaner and in the dry cleaning nozzle.
- Long battery life.
- The wheels are equipped with motors for easier control and literally glide the vacuum across the floor. The weight is practically unnoticeable in your hand.
- Informative LED display on the body.
- Flexible cleaning settings in the app.
- Two levels of disinfection: in the clean water tank and in the roller material itself.
- Voice notifications in Russian.
- Increased capacity of water tanks.
- High quality assembly.
- Stylish design.
- Good equipment.
- Availability of warranty and service.
Speaking about shortcomings, in fact these are more like comments, but nevertheless they exist:
- There is still a small blind area between the edge of the roller and the baseboard.
- The main floor nozzle is not capable of picking up large debris.
- Non-removable battery.
Overall, for me, this is the best upright wet/dry vacuum cleaner of 2024. It's efficient, versatile, convenient, smart, and stylish, and, just as importantly, it's made by a trusted brand. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a wet/dry vacuum cleaner with attachments.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
