Dreame Z30: The MOST POWERFUL cordless vacuum cleaner on the market (310 AeroWatts)!

Hello to all readers of the project! In this video, I'll be reviewing the new Dreame Z30 upright vacuum cleaner. This model's main highlight is its incredible suction power, reaching 310 AeroWatts. Besides its power, the device boasts intelligent operating modes, a wide range of attachments, and even a new addition to the Dreame line—a special brush for grooming pets. Overall, it offers a suite of cutting-edge features that rival flagship models from other brands. And the price is also appropriate—starting at $680 at the time of writing. So, below, I'll take a closer look at the Dreame Z30, test it, and then express my opinion on whether it's worth the money. So, let's get started!
Equipment
Let's start with the package. It includes:
- Main block.
- Extension tube.
- Floor stand for storing a vacuum cleaner and attachments.
- Operating instructions.
- Power adapter.
- Basic floor nozzle with carpet roller.
- Basic attachment with roller for hard surfaces.
- Flexible extension hose.
- Bendable adapter.
- Nozzle with turbo brush for cleaning upholstered furniture.
- Soft bristle attachment.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Nozzle with rotating soft brush.
- Attachment for combing animals.
The kit is well-equipped. There are a large number of attachments for various applications.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Dreame Z30 upright vacuum cleaner. The main unit is gray. It houses an 855-watt motor, generating a market-leading suction power of 310 Air Watts.
The battery is removable, which is a plus! But there's a big caveat: it's charged by plugging the charger into the port on the handle. Wireless charging isn't supported on the floor stand, as there are no terminals, which is a shame considering the price.
An informative display with control buttons is located on the end of the unit: it turns the power on and off, as well as switches between operating modes. The display shows the battery charge percentage, the selected operating mode, and statistics on the collection of debris of various sizes.
Built-in infrared sensors detect particle size and quantity. Here's how it works:
The Dreame Z30 has three operating modes: Energy Saving, Turbo, and Automatic. In Automatic mode, the vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts suction power depending on how dirty the floor is. On carpets, the suction power does not increase automatically.
The dust container is removable. That's also a good thing. The main unit itself has a HEPA-14 filter. The dust container has an additional fabric filter and a cyclone with a mesh. The manufacturer allows the entire filtration system to be washed with water. The main thing is to dry the filters thoroughly afterwards.
The dust container is emptied by pressing a release button that opens the bottom. Overall, it's convenient.
Let's take a look at the included attachments. The main attachment with a carpet roller is a familiar design. A switch is mounted at the front to raise the curtain, allowing you to pick up larger debris from the floor. LED lights are mounted on both sides to illuminate the cleaning area. The roller can be removed from the side without any tools. It is equipped with short bristles for thorough cleaning of carpets. Behind the roller, you'll find a comb for detangling tangled hair and a fairly large suction port.
The kit also includes a floor nozzle with a fluffy roller for hard floors. It's equipped with a light. The roller can be removed by pressing a release button, without the need for tools.
The upholstery cleaning attachment features a turbo brush with silicone paddles. To access it, you'll need a flat-head screwdriver or coin. Unlike the previous model, there's no backlight. Dreame Z10 Station.
The highlight of the additional attachment set is the pet hair brush. I'll show you how it works in my tests. Pet owners will appreciate this feature!
There's also a crevice tool with retractable bristles, a soft brush tool, and another new attachment for the Dreame line of upright vacuum cleaners—a rotating soft brush. It can be used to pick up dust on textured surfaces.
There's also a bendable adapter and a flexible extension hose. Overall, these attachments are sufficient for comprehensive cleaning in the home.
Conveniently, all the attachments are equipped with locking latches. Here's how the vacuum cleaner is assembled and what it looks like when assembled:
And here's what the floor holder looks like:
It's convenient in principle, but it's unclear why there's only storage for three of the included attachments. Where are the rest supposed to go? This seems like a poor decision on the part of Dreame's engineers.
So far, my initial impressions have been largely positive, but I do have some concerns. I'd like to add that the vacuum cleaner is easy to use with one hand. The control buttons are positioned right under your thumb, so you don't need to hold them down. There's also an automatic lock when the device is turned on.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame Z30, as stated by the manufacturer, are displayed on the screen:
- The power consumption of the vacuum cleaner is 855 W.
- Suction power up to 310 aW.
- Li-Ion battery 3200 mAh.
- Dust collector 600 ml.
- Operating time up to 90 min.
- The noise level of the vacuum cleaner is 70-81 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 3.13 kg.
Speaking of specifications, the suction power is claimed to be very strong. Both power consumption and suction power are approximately twice as strong as those of the previously released Dreame Z10 Station.
I personally measured the vacuum cleaner's noise level. It ranges from 70 to 81 dB, depending on the operating mode. The noise level is slightly higher for this upright vacuum, but the high power output should also be taken into account. These parameters are interrelated.
Regarding weight, the main unit is slightly heavier than similar models—2,206 grams, the extension tube 246 grams, and the main nozzle 681 grams. The vacuum weighs 3,133 grams when fully assembled. I can say that it's actually heavier than similar models. It's not a huge deal, but it's a fact. For example, the Dreame R20 weighs 2,734 grams when fully assembled, while the Z10 Station weighs 2,757 grams. This is precisely due to the updated design of the main unit.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Dreame Z30, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Opening hours
Let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the Dreame Z30's battery life in Turbo mode with the main attachment attached. It managed to run for 12 minutes and 42 seconds. This is a fairly standard result.
For example, the same R20 worked for 13 minutes 33 seconds, and T30 About 12 minutes and 37 seconds. But I'll note that this upright vacuum cleaner is at least a third more powerful, which is a plus compared to its predecessors.
Suction power
As for suction power, even on minimum power, the Dreame Z30 was able to easily vacuum debris from a 10 mm gap. So, it's certainly a powerful upright vacuum.
Even if you place your palm against the suction port in Turbo mode, you'll feel a very strong suction. I'd say it's on par with corded vacuum cleaners. You might not even need to use Turbo mode; the automatic power control will be sufficient for cleaning.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Dreame Z3 0 picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate floor: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine did a good job. It's important to note that it has no trouble picking up debris along baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. The fluffy roller doesn't get tangled up in hair or fur. That's a plus!
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on a low-pile carpet, and the Dreame Z30 literally sucked the life out of it. It then thoroughly cleaned a medium-pile carpet. Again, the carpet roller was clean, with nothing caught on it.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the complete kit allows you to clean a sofa, areas beyond the reach of the main nozzle, and even the inside of a car. And thanks to the flexible connector, you can even clean under low furniture. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
And here's how the pet brush attachment performed. You can see how the hair collects on the brush. Then, you press the button on the back, and all the hair is removed, immediately landing in the suction hole. A great solution and very convenient for pet owners!
Emptying the dust container
Finally, I'll show you how to clean the dust container. The engineers designed it so that you press a button and all the debris falls out through the bottom. However, if the container is clogged with fur and hair, they'll go on strike, and then the only solution is to remove the dust container, remove the filtration system, and empty the contents. Overall, it's not difficult, and the process is similar to other brands' solutions.
Personal opinion
The Dreame Z30 upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. First, I'll highlight the pros and cons I discovered during my initial testing, then I'll share my personal opinion of this model. I liked the following:
- In reality, the suction power is incredibly high. A record-breaking figure on the market.
- High-quality waste collection on various surfaces.
- Well-equipped with all the necessary cleaning attachments, including two different rollers for different types of flooring.
- The animal grooming attachment deserves special mention; although not unique, it is nonetheless effective and not every brand has one.
- High quality filtration system.
- Illumination of the cleaning area in floor nozzles.
- A system for counting the amount and size of trash. While not particularly useful, it nonetheless demonstrates a premium-level level of intelligence.
- Automatic suction power increase mode.
- Removable battery.
- Removable dust collector.
- Informative display on the body.
- High-quality assembly and high brand reliability.
- Ergonomic design and stylish design. The vacuum cleaner is easy to use with one hand and has a modern look.
- Availability of warranty and service.
As for comments, I didn't like the following:
- High price. The Dreame Z30 is no longer in the mid-price range, as was typical for the Dreame cordless vacuum cleaner line, but a true premium model.
- There's no wireless charging on the floor stand. You have to connect the charger manually.
- The floor holder doesn't have space for all the included attachments. It only holds three extra attachments. It's unclear where to put the rest. It's also unclear why they couldn't have made an extended holder rod with additional attachment holders.
- The vacuum cleaner is slightly heavier than its competitors. This is especially noticeable when using it as a handheld vacuum, meaning the nozzle doesn't slide across the floor.
- Increased noise level during operation. This is more of a nuance than a complaint, and is actually caused by the high suction power.
- There's no vertical parking position outside the holder. This means if you need to take a break while using the vacuum, you'll have to bend over and place it on the floor or prop it up.
So, to sum it up, what can I say? As a vacuum cleaner, the Dreame Z30 is certainly a good one, and it does its job perfectly. In fact, it's not only powerful and convenient, but also smart. But the key word here is "good." And you're probably curious to know whether it's the best value for the money?!
So, the Dreame Z30 has reached a price point comparable to Dyson, the well-known leader in the cordless vacuum cleaner market. While the price gap was previously so great that it was easy to avoid this brand, it's now becoming interesting to compare the Dreame Z30 with a similarly priced Dyson to see which is better. This is something we plan to do soon.
So, for now, all I can say is that I haven't found any compelling reasons not to buy the Dreame Z30. It has far more advantages than disadvantages, and overall, I've had a positive experience with it.
I'd like to end this review on this note. If you have any questions or suggestions for a comparable upright vacuum cleaner, please leave them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
