I'd be grateful if you'd appreciate my efforts by subscribing and liking after watching the video. So, let's get started!

Appearance
Let's take a look at the Dreame R20's design. Let's start with the main unit. It's finished in graphite. The design is the same as the previous models. Dreame V12 Pro And Dreame T30The battery is removable, which is a plus. The vacuum cleaner is turned on and off by pressing a trigger-shaped button. On the end, there's an informative display and two mechanical buttons: one for switching operating modes and one for locking the power button. There's an automatic mode and a turbo mode. They decided to forgo the ECO mode. In automatic mode, the Dreame R20 can automatically adjust suction power depending on the type of flooring and how dirty it is. That's a plus.
The dust container is completely detachable from the main unit. A pre-motor HEPA filter is installed within the main unit itself. The dust container itself is conveniently emptied with the press of a button. Debris falls out through the bottom. The flask houses a filtration system consisting of a fabric filter, a cyclone, and a mesh. Additionally, an additional sponge filter is visible in the exhaust vents. In total, there's at least a 5-stage filtration system, which is a big plus!
Let's take a look at the main floor nozzle. It's virtually identical to the Dreame V12 Pro and T30, which we tested previously. However, there's one key difference: a front-mounted light. Two blue LEDs glow in front of the nozzle, illuminating debris on the floor and improving cleaning efficiency. The nozzle also features a switch that raises the roller cover to collect larger debris. The brush has short, stiff bristles. This design has proven itself effective for cleaning carpets. Behind the roller is a fairly large suction hole with a comb. This comb helps detangle hair and fur from the roller as it rotates. The roller lock is located on the side and is easily removed by hand. No additional tools are required, which is a plus.
Here's what the floor nozzle with a roller for hard floors looks like. The soft-bristled roller won't damage delicate surfaces and is noticeably easier to remove hair and pet hair.
Speaking of additional attachments, the Mattress and Upholstery Tool also features a motorized brush with perforated silicone inserts. A flat-head screwdriver or coin is needed to release the locking mechanism. The brush with retractable bristles can also be used in household settings. It has a bendable adapter, making it easier to clean hard-to-reach areas and under low furniture. The updated crevice tool also deserves special attention. It's telescopic, with a flexible inner retractable part. This design improves ease of use and allows for cleaning in tight, narrow spaces, such as under low furniture.
The wall mount is also worth mentioning. It allows you to charge the vacuum cleaner without directly connecting it to the charger, which is very convenient. And that's not all. There's a cover on the top that can be removed to install an additional charging module for a spare battery. This module is sold separately. This allows you to charge two batteries simultaneously, extending the Dreame R20's runtime. This is ideal for cleaning large areas. The wall mount also allows you to store the included attachments.
Here's what the Dreame R20 looks like assembled:
Overall, the vacuum cleaner's appearance and design are impressive and in keeping with the premium segment. The only feature missing is vertical parking, a feature common to all Dreame cordless vacuum cleaners designed for dry cleaning.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame R20, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Power consumption 570 W.
- Suction power up to 190 aW.
- Li-Ion battery 2900 mAh.
- Dust collector 600 ml.
- Operating time up to 90 min.
- Noise level 77.5-85.5 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.73 kg.
I personally measured the noise level with a sound level meter. In automatic mode, it ranged from 72-80 dB, while in Turbo mode, the peak was 85 dB. This vacuum cleaner's noise level is elevated, but not alarmingly so compared to more powerful alternatives.
As for weight, the main unit weighs 1,750 grams, the extension tube weighs 203 grams, and the main nozzle weighs 781 grams. The complete vacuum weighs 2,734 grams. This is a fairly standard weight for an upright vacuum. The center of gravity is strategically positioned low, preventing hand fatigue during use.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Dreame R20, including all tests, has already been published on the channel:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the Dreame R20's battery life in Turbo mode with the main nozzle attached. It managed 13 minutes and 33 seconds, while its predecessor, the T30, lasted 12 minutes and 37 seconds. The runtime has been slightly increased, despite the same suction power and battery capacity. In any case, the runtime is on par with most similar devices. And remember, you can purchase an additional battery and charge it simultaneously with the vacuum cleaner on a wall mount, doubling the runtime.
Suction power
As for suction power, the Dreame R20 was able to easily vacuum debris from a 10mm gap in automatic mode. So, it's certainly a powerful upright vacuum. You might not need to use Turbo mode; the automatic power control is more than sufficient for cleaning.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Dreame R20 picks up debris from the floor. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, wool, grains, and other small household debris. This device handled the task well. It's important to note that it has no problem picking up debris along the baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. The roller barely picks up any hair or wool. All the debris is collected in the dust bin. And, frankly, I don't see the point in using a roller for hard floors. A carpet roller does an excellent job of picking up debris even on hard floors.
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on the carpet and the Dreame R20 did an equally good job, thoroughly cleaning the carpet.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the complete kit allows you to clean a sofa, areas beyond the reach of the main nozzle, and even the inside of a car. And thanks to the flexible connector, you can even clean under low furniture. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Press the button, and all the debris falls out through the bottom. Hair and fur can get stuck in the bin. In this case, you can completely remove the dust bin, remove the filtration system, and empty the bin completely. Very convenient.
Personal opinion
The Dreame R20 upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. Like all Dreame products, it left a largely positive impression. Based on my experience with it and testing it, I can highlight the following pros and cons.
I liked the following:
- High suction power.
- High-quality waste collection on any surface.
- Automatic power increase function.
- Illumination of the cleaning area.
- Increased operating time in TURBO mode.
- Informative display on the body.
- Stylish design.
- Ergonomic design.
- Removable battery.
- Very high quality assembly.
- A complete set of attachments, including two rollers with different structures for different floor coverings.
- Good filtration system.
Regarding drawbacks, the main one is the increased noise level at maximum power. Another minor gripe is the lack of vertical parking outside of the wall mount. But this is more of a nitpick than a real drawback.
Overall, the Dreame R20 left a mostly positive impression. Its appearance is very appealing, and its build quality is also impressive. This applies not only to the vacuum itself but also to all the included attachments. The main attachment has no blind spots, does an excellent job of picking up debris, and illuminates the cleaning area with a soft blue glow, so I have no reason not to recommend it. It's definitely one of the best upright vacuums for the money. What could I possibly see in future models? Dual rollers or something similar. We'll have to wait and see.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping. Bye!

Good day!
Do you think it's worth paying extra for the R20 or saving a little and getting the V12 Pro? I didn't see any major advantages, but the removable battery and backlight are appealing. Also, is it worth paying extra for the Dyson V12? Everyone who has a Dyson says it's reliable, but other vacuums' filters don't work as well and lose power over time. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this.
I have a similar vacuum cleaner that does both dry and wet cleaning. It has two bins, one for clean water and one for wastewater. It's more convenient than a sweeping robot: every time it cleans up dirt, you just need to place it on the charging stand, and it automatically cleans the roller brush.
What's the point of a light on the carpet nozzle if dust on the carpet is barely visible? Dust is clearly visible on hard surfaces, but the hard floor nozzle has no light. QUESTION! Is it possible to install the soft bristle brush from the hard floor nozzle into the lighted nozzle?
