Dreame H13 ProDreame H13 Pro

The latest new product to review is the Dreame H13 Pro upright vacuum cleaner. The device has received a number of important design and feature updates compared to its previously released model. Dreame H12 Pro, which has gained immense popularity in the market. First and foremost, this is the self-cleaning function of the roller with hot water at the station. They also improved the roller drying function, making it high-speed. They increased the suction power, added a backlight for the cleaning module, improved protection against hair tangling, and made the vacuum cleaner more user-friendly by installing motors in the wheels. Overall, serious work has been done on an already excellent wet/dry vacuum cleaner. The launch price is in the range of $460-600. So, below, I'll test the Dreame H13 Pro in detail, highlight the pros and cons based on my test results, and then express my opinion. So, let's get started!

Equipment

The vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:

It contains the main unit with a base, a removable handle, a spare roller, a spare HEPA filter, a coarse filter for the dirty water tank, a branded detergent, a brush for cleaning the vacuum cleaner, and an operating manual.

The kit is very good. It includes all the necessary spare parts and cleaning solution. That's a plus!

Appearance

Now let's take a closer look at the Dreame H13 Pro. It's black and has a standard design: a cleaning module with a roller, two reservoirs, a display, and a handle with control buttons. Let's take a closer look at each component.

Let's start with the cleaning module. Like the H12 Pro, the new model's roller extends out to the edge of the housing on both sides. The top cover is removable. It features teeth, presumably for detangling the roller. However, there's a gap of several millimeters between the cover and the roller, meaning there's no contact.

The roller is released by pressing the release button. It is attached to a special holder with a rotating cross. The roller's structure is quite familiar—soft bristles. However, the manufacturer claims that the bristles also contain silver ions to protect against the spread of germs and bacteria. Behind the roller is another comb for detangling hair, a suction port, and a scraper for removing residual liquid from the floor.

And most importantly, the new Dreame H13 Pro wet/dry vacuum cleaner now features a cleaning zone light. This will improve cleaning efficiency in low-light areas.

What's also interesting is that the vacuum cleaner's wheels are equipped with motors that help the Dreame H13 Pro glide across the floor when controlled. This technology is called GlideWheel.

Above the cleaning module is a tank for dirty and clean water. The dirty water tank is equipped with a HEPA filter with a mesh screen, electronic water level sensors, and finally, a coarse filter that traps large debris. Incidentally, this tank has a capacity of 700 ml.

The clean water tank holds 900 ml. It contains a coarse water filter and an electrolytic water sterilization module that disinfects water and kills various viruses. In total, this wet/dry vacuum cleaner has at least two levels of disinfection.

The top of the body features a large, informative display that shows the battery charge, the selected operating mode, the power level, and service messages. The Dreame H13 Pro has four main operating modes: Automatic, Turbo, Pre-Disinfection, and Suction. In Automatic mode, the vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts suction power based on how dirty the floor is.

The handle contains buttons for turning the power on/off, selecting the operating mode, and starting self-cleaning on the base.

There's also another button on the back of the vacuum cleaner that lets you customize the voice notification language. The Dreame H13 Pro also speaks Russian.

Speaking of the base, the washing vacuum cleaner charges, cleans itself and dries the roller on it.

Base

It's important to note that a metal plate is mounted on the surface of the base, which heats the water during the roller's self-cleaning process. Water is pumped under the roller, heated to 60 degrees, and then self-cleaning occurs, drawing the wastewater into the dedicated tank.

During self-cleaning, the roller's rotation reverses, allowing for better cleaning of the lint. After the self-cleaning process is complete, the drying function kicks in. Interestingly, the roller dries completely in just 30 minutes. This is achieved by heating the plate, delivering warm air (up to 60 degrees Celsius), and rotating the roller alternately in opposite directions. Overall, this vacuum cleaner has an effective base!

Overall, we see that some work has been done on the vacuum cleaner's design. They'd also like to add the ability to tilt it closer to the floor, but that feature will be implemented in the already announced Dreame H14.

Technical specifications

The main characteristics of the Dreame H13 Pro, as stated by the manufacturer:

  • Battery: Li-Ion, 4900 mAh.
  • Power consumption: 300 W.
  • Suction power: up to 18,000 Pa.
  • Working time: up to 45 min.
  • Clean water tank: 900 ml.
  • Dirty water tank: 700 ml.
  • Noise level: 73-75 dB.

The high suction power and large water tanks are worth highlighting. The noise level, which I personally tested, is in the 73-75 dB range, which is in line with similar devices.

Testing

A detailed video review of the Dreame H13 Pro, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:

And finally, let's move on to the tests. The Dreame H13 Pro performs well in everyday floor cleaning, both on laminate and tile. It doesn't leave streaks and, when used correctly, won't damage delicate flooring.

This device can be used not only for cleaning floors but also for vacuuming liquids. And, as in my case, the vacuum even passed the now-traditional test of picking up a mixture of raw egg and flour.

The Dreame H13 Pro can also be used to clean slightly dried-on dirt. As you can see, there are no marks or streaks left behind. The floor is perfectly clean.

Moreover, thanks to the rollers extending to the edge of the housing on both sides, the device is capable of thoroughly cleaning dirt along the baseboard. In reality, the blind zone is about 5 mm, while most similar devices have a blind zone of 15-20 mm. Still, Dreame's engineers still have room for improvement.

Blind spot

This wet/dry vacuum cleaner was able to remove tough, dried-on coffee and sauce stains. As with similar products, it took some time to remove the sauce stains. In my case, it took about 6 minutes to remove all the main stains. The Dreame H12 Pro achieved similar results. M13s and H12 Dual. In all cases, I used the brand's cleaning product.

Furthermore, this wet/dry vacuum cleaner can also be used for dry cleaning. It easily picks up various types of debris from the floor. There's a small blind spot in the corner, but the main thing is that it picks up almost all the debris from the stand. That's a plus!

Dry cleaning

Considering this is a wet/dry vacuum, it's not practical for cleaning carpets. However, it's still possible if you don't add water to the tank or use the wet mode, which simply vacuums up debris without applying water. Despite its fluffy texture, the roller is capable of picking up pet hair and other debris from low-pile carpets.

Carpet cleaning

The Dreame H13 Pro isn't recommended for use on fluffy carpets due to the roller's structure. However, debris can clog the suction hole and block the brush, which is what happened during testing, as the suction system doesn't work properly without water.

Cleaning a medium pile carpet

In general, I still recommend cleaning carpets with a regular upright vacuum cleaner, or entrusting this task to a robot with a suitable design and power.

After all the tests, the self-cleaning performance of the wet/dry vacuum cleaner was also tested, and here, again, the Dreame H13 Pro impressed. It effectively removes dirt and debris. This is thanks to the heated water and the alternating roller rotation, which improves cleaning performance.

Self-cleaning

And the most interesting thing is that even after such a challenging test, the cleaning module was completely clean. There was no dirt left behind the holder, and the roller was completely clean. Both the top cover and the platform were clean. This model's self-cleaning feature is very well implemented. The test was passed successfully!

The drying is also really effective. After 30 minutes, the roller is completely dry! Bravo, Dreame engineers!

Personal opinion

The Dreame H13 Pro upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly tested. I'll highlight the pros and cons I found, and then share my thoughts. Here's what I liked:

  1. High quality floor washing and dirt removal.
  2. It washes the floor along the baseboard better than many similar products.
  3. High-quality self-cleaning based on hot water.
  4. Complete and very fast drying of the roller with hot air.
  5. Automatic power increase when contamination is detected.
  6. High suction power, judging by the stated characteristics.
  7. High-quality waste collection on hard surfaces and low-pile carpets.
  8. Illumination of the cleaning area.
  9. The wheels are equipped with motors for easier control and literally glide the vacuum across the floor. The weight is practically unnoticeable in your hand.
  10. Increased capacity of water tanks.
  11. Ergonomic design. The vacuum cleaner is easy to operate with one hand.
  12. Informative LED display on the body.
  13. Voice notifications in Russian.
  14. Good complete set, including branded cleaning product.
  15. High quality assembly.
  16. In reality, a stylish modern design.
  17. Two levels of disinfection: in the clean water tank and in the roller material itself.
  18. Availability of warranty and service.

Speaking about the disadvantages, there are the following comments about the vacuum cleaner:

  1. Considering the price, it does not transform into a vacuum cleaner for dry cleaning, as Dreame H12 Dual and some other models in the line.
  2. Doesn't lean close to the floor like the new Dreame H14 Dual.
  3. It doesn't wash a narrow strip along the baseboard, although it must be admitted that this strip is very narrow.
  4. Non-removable battery.
  5. There is no way to regulate the water supply level.

Ultimately, some of the shortcomings are similar to those of previously released Dreame wet/dry vacuum cleaners, but minor. However, the Dreame H13 Pro boasts a number of new advantages, making it a good option for purchase in 2024. It's efficient, convenient, functional, and comes from a proven brand. What more could you want?!

On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
