The Dreame H12 Dual is a new upright vacuum cleaner whose key feature is its detachable main unit. It comes with several dry cleaning attachments. The Dreame H12 Dual offers both high-quality floor cleaning and full dry cleaning. It also boasts a self-cleaning function, a roller drying station, and an informative LED display. For such a complete package, you'll expect to pay between $460 and $500, or $500 to $550 at the exchange rate at the time of writing. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Dreame H12 Dual, highlight its pros and cons, and then express my opinion on whether it's worth buying. I'd be grateful if you'd appreciate my efforts by subscribing and liking after watching the video. So, let's get started!

Appearance
Now let's take a look at how the Dreame H12 Dual is designed. Let's start with the wet/dry vacuum cleaner. The cleaning module design is the same as the previous model. Dreame H12 ProThe roller extends to the edge of the housing on both sides. However, we see that the roller doesn't extend right to the edge; there are also locking devices on both sides behind it. Therefore, we can predict that a narrow, non-rinsable area will remain on both sides, but it will be much smaller than on most similar devices.
The top cover is removable, and the roller lock is released by pressing the button on top. Once the roller is removed, we see a unique holder that actually rotates the roller. It is non-removable. Behind this holder are a scraper for collecting residual water, a suction hole, and a comb for combing the roller.
Above the cleaning module are the dirty and clean water tanks. The dirty water tank holds 700 ml. It contains a HEPA filter with a mesh screen and electronic water level sensors. There is no coarse filter. The clean water tank holds 900 ml.
The wet/dry vacuum cleaner features four operating modes, displayed on an informative LED display. These include an automatic power boost mode when dirt is detected, a liquid suction mode without water, a self-cleaning mode, and a hot-air roller drying mode.
The vacuum cleaner is controlled by three buttons on the handle. These buttons turn the power on/off, switch between operating modes, and initiate the self-cleaning function.
Speaking of the base, the vacuum cleaner charges, self-cleans, and dries the roller on it. Hot air is directed to the roller through vents on the front. Drying is effective, as confirmed in tests.
Let's review the dry vacuum cleaner and its included accessories. The main unit is removed by pressing a button located next to the display. The main floor nozzle is equipped with a fluffy roller with soft bristles. This type of roller is more suitable for cleaning hard floors. Behind the roller is a fairly large suction opening and combs for detangling hair and pet hair. There is no illumination of the cleaning area.
A standard turbo brush attachment for cleaning upholstery. The brush lock is located on the side. To remove the brush, use a flat-head screwdriver or a coin.
The crevice tool features retractable bristles. Again, it's a standard feature.
As for the removable dust container, it contains a HEPA filtration system, a foam filter, a mesh filter, and a cyclone filter. To empty the dust from the container, you need to remove the entire filtration system.
Here's what the vacuum cleaner looks like when fully assembled, with the extension tube and floor nozzle installed:
Overall, Dreame vacuum cleaners offer excellent build quality and performance, as always, and the H12 Dual is no exception. It's ergonomic and well-assembled, and it's well-suited to its price range.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame H12 Dual, as stated by the manufacturer:
- Battery: Li-Ion, 4000 mAh.
- Power consumption: 300 W.
- Operating time: up to 35 min (washing vacuum cleaner), up to 60 min (hand-held vacuum cleaner).
- Clean water tank: 900 ml.
- Dirty water tank: 700 ml.
- Noise level: 69.5-73 dB.
- Weight: 5 kg (wet vacuum cleaner), 2.72 kg (dry vacuum cleaner).
The battery capacity, water tank capacity, and operating time are the same as the previously released one. Dreame M12I personally tested the noise level. It ranges from 69.5 to 72 dB in wet/dry mode, and 71 to 73 dB when using the dry vacuum. I can say the noise level is lower than many similar models.
The fully assembled wet/dry vacuum weighs approximately 5 kg. The fully assembled dry vacuum weighs 2,719 grams, including the main unit (1,799 grams), the extension tube (258 grams), and the floor nozzle (662 grams).
We also tested the Dreame H12 Dual's battery life in dry cleaning mode at maximum power with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed 34 minutes and 9 seconds of runtime, which is a very impressive result.
The typical runtime for dry vacuum cleaners at maximum power is about 10-12 minutes. But, for comparison, under the same conditions Dreame M13s It lasted 43 minutes and 34 seconds. It has a more capacious battery.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Dreame H12 Dual, including all tests, has already been published on the channel:
Testing a washing vacuum cleaner
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, I'll show you the wet/dry vacuum cleaner in action. It handles everyday floor cleaning perfectly. No complaints. It leaves no streaks or marks, and the water flow is moderate.
If necessary, you can also use a vacuum cleaner to pick up liquids and mixtures, like I did with the now-classic egg and flour dough. Very convenient!
Furthermore, the Dreame H12 Dual effectively picks up dirt from floors without leaving streaks or marks. Moreover, thanks to the rollers extending out from both sides of the unit, it can thoroughly clean dirt along baseboards.
In reality, the blind spot is about 5 mm, while most similar devices have a blind spot of 15-20 mm. Still, Dreame's engineers still have room for improvement.
As for removing tough, dried-on stains, like coffee and sauce, the Dreame H12 Dual handles this task without a problem. It took about 5 minutes to completely remove the stains from the stand. The Dreame M12, M13s, and H12 Pro achieved similar results. In all cases, I used the brand's cleaning solution.
After all the tests, we checked the self-cleaning performance of the wet/dry vacuum cleaner, and here again, the Dreame H12 Dual impressed. It cleans dirt and debris effectively. The self-cleaning algorithm has also been updated. The roller alternately rotates in different directions, improving cleaning performance. And most interestingly, even after such a challenging test, the cleaning module was completely clean, no dirt remained behind the holder, and the roller was completely clean. Both the top cover and the platform were clean. Self-cleaning is very well implemented in this model. The test was passed successfully!
Suction power
I'll also show you how the Dreame H12 Dual performs in dry cleaning mode with the optional attachments. As for suction power, even at medium power, the vacuum cleaner was able to easily suck up debris from a 10 mm gap. So, it's definitely a powerful upright vacuum. You might not even need to use Turbo mode.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Dreame H12 Dual picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine performed well. It's important to note that it has no trouble picking up debris along baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. No hair or lint gets caught in the roller. All debris is collected in the dust bin. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
Cleaning a carpet with the Dreame H12 Dual isn't particularly convenient, but it's still possible. Because the roller isn't the right type, hair and fur aren't picked up on the first pass. However, the medium-pile carpet was completely cleaned. Ideally, you should invest in a carpet roller attachment.
Using additional attachments
It's also worth noting that the additional attachments allow you to clean a sofa, areas the main nozzle can't reach, and even the inside of a car. Overall, this vacuum cleaner is suitable for a variety of applications.
Cleaning the dust collector
Finally, I'll tell you how to clean the dust bin. Dirt doesn't fall out the bottom, like with other Dreame upright vacuums. You just detach the dust bin, remove the filtration system, and empty the dust from the bowl. Pretty convenient!
Personal opinion
The Dreame H12 Dual upright vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight the pros and cons I found, then share my personal opinion. Here's what I liked:
I liked the following:
- High power.
- High-quality floor washing and dirt removal.
- It removes dirt along the baseboard better than many similar products.
- The presence of a removable hand-held vacuum cleaner and a set of attachments for complete dry cleaning.
- High-quality waste collection on hard surfaces.
- High-quality self-cleaning.
- Complete drying of the roller with hot air.
- Automatic power increase when the vacuum cleaner detects dirt.
- Long working time.
- Stylish design.
- Increased capacity of water tanks.
- Ergonomic design.
- Informative LED display on the body.
- The noise level is below average.
- Good complete set, including branded cleaning product.
- High quality assembly.
- Availability of warranty and service.
When discussing shortcomings, these are actually more like comments and suggestions to the engineers about what needs to be improved to make the product practically perfect. Here are the comments we found:
- There is no manual adjustment of suction power in the washing vacuum cleaner.
- There is no way to regulate the water supply level.
- There is no attachment or roller for cleaning carpets.
- Non-removable battery.
- It doesn't wash a narrow strip along the baseboard, although it must be admitted that this strip is very narrow.
Ultimately, I think the main criticism is the lack of a carpet roller attachment on the main floor nozzle. I've already contacted the brand to find out which Dreame upright vacuums will fit the carpet roller attachment. By adding it, the vacuum cleaner truly becomes a combined cleaner for full-fledged dry and wet cleaning in the home. The idea of detaching the main unit and adding a set of dry cleaning attachments is definitely a great one. You buy one device and use it for all your cleaning needs.
Considering the competition as of late 2023, I can say that the Dreame H12 Dual is definitely one of the best upright wet vacuum cleaners available at the time of writing. It's versatile, efficient, convenient, and reliable. Definitely worth considering!
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!

Good afternoon. Your review was crucial in my choice of a vertical vacuum cleaner, and now I'm the happy owner of a Dreame H12 Dual. It's a beast, and I absolutely love the cleaning performance it delivers in one go. I have a question for you: could you tell me if there's a compatible turbo brush (silicone roller + bristles) for the included dry vacuum cleaner? Which model might it fit? The lint roller isn't particularly good on medium- and long-pile carpets, and the small turbo brush is so narrow that it's incredibly difficult to use; its best use is furniture. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Good afternoon.
Did you get a response regarding the carpet brush? What model can I order from?
I really miss it, especially when I was previously used to using it.
