Dreame Trouver M1: Small but mighty! A review of the affordable robot vacuum cleaner from Dreame

The Dreame Trouver M1 is a new robot vacuum cleaner, priced at $170 at the time of writing. For this price, the device features a precise laser navigation system, wet and dry cleaning functions, and increased suction power of 4500 Pa. Another unique feature is its 76 mm height, allowing it to fit under lower furniture. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Dreame Trouver M1, highlight its pros and cons, and then share my opinion on whether this robot vacuum is worth buying. Let's get started!
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes:
- Charging base.
- Power adapter.
- Holder with napkin.
- Brush for cleaning the robot.
- Documentation with translation into Russian.
The kit is standard for the Dreame robot line. There are no spare parts.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Dreame Trouver M1's design. It comes in white and has a round body.
There's no external wall sensor. The actual height is 78 mm, measured at the slightly taller front. In any case, the robot is 2 cm thinner than its tower-mounted lidar counterparts, which is a plus.
The robot's navigation system is mounted at the front—a laser sensor that scans the space ahead. I'll explain the navigation in more detail later.
At the top of the control panel there is a Wi-Fi network connection indicator and two mechanical buttons.
The combined water and dust container is removable from the rear. The water tank holds 220 ml. An electronically controlled pump is installed inside. The dust container holds only 300 ml.
Filtration system based on mesh filter, HEPA and foam rubber.
This wet cleaning attachment is attached to the robot. The cloth is secured with Velcro. Water is dispensed through four holes.
The robot has three fall protection sensors on the bottom. There is no carpet sensor. It has a single, three-beam, quick-release side brush.
The central brush unit is floating. The turbo brush is a non-detachable bristle-petal unit. Only the cap on one side is removable.
I would also like to point out that the robot's power is turned on using a special switch near the wheel, which was not the case with previous Dreame models.
Overall, I can say for now that the Dreame Trouver M1 is more Trouver than Dreame. The build quality and design are significantly different from the typical Dreame robots. For context, Trouver is a division of Dreame Technology.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame Trouver M1, as stated by the manufacturer, are displayed on the screen:
- Li-Ion battery 2600 mAh.
- Suction power up to 4500 Pa.

- Cleaning area up to 140 sq.m.
- Dust collector 300 ml.
- Water tank 220 ml.
- Obstacle clearance up to 20 mm.

Of course, the weak battery and small dust bin capacity are disappointing. All other parameters are on par with similar devices in this price range.
Functions
Speaking of features, the Dreame Trouver M1 is controlled via the Dreamehome app. Connection is simple and convenient.
The main functions are displayed on the screen:

I can say that, overall, it has all the basic functions for flexible cleaning settings. Moreover, the navigation system can even save multiple cleaning maps in memory. That's a plus.
Testing
A detailed video review with all tests has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Navigation
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll test the robot's navigation within the room. First, the Dreame Trouver M1 sweeps around the perimeter of the selected area, then cleans in a zigzag motion. The dryer's legs gave it a bit of trouble, but it didn't get stuck and was able to free itself. It also swept around the box and chair legs, then returned to its base.
Speaking of indoor navigation, I'll start by showing you how the robot maps the room. It has a quick mapping feature, and you can see that the accuracy is on par with traditional lidar models.
The Dreame Trouver M1 cleans room by room, moving around the perimeter of each room and then in a serpentine pattern. The cleaning speed is high, and there were no uncleaned areas, so I can say the robot has good navigation and passed this test!
Suction power
The Dreame Trouver M1's suction power is actually slightly higher. It managed to suck up debris from crevices as deep as 2 and 4 mm. The same result was achieved by Dreame F9, which is in the same price range. Its power will be sufficient for household use.
Dry cleaning
Dry cleaning performance on laminate floors is good. The robot vacuum was able to pick up most of the debris from the floor. This included not only small household debris but also pet hair and hair. Only a little debris remained in the corners, where almost all round robots on the market fail to clean effectively. The turbo brush caught pet hair and hair. However, the majority of the debris was collected in the dust bin. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on a low-pile carpet. And I can say that the Dreame Trouver M1 thoroughly cleaned the carpet. It can also clean medium-pile carpet, but not as effectively.
Wet cleaning
There are no complaints about wet cleaning. The quality of cleaning dirt from laminate flooring is on par with similar products. Only a narrow strip along the baseboard remains, but this is a weak point of most robotic vacuum cleaners reviewed.
The blind zone between the edge of the napkin and the baseboard is about 3 cm, like many other robots.
Wet cleaning and carpets
Regarding wet cleaning on carpeted floors, although the Dreame Trouver M1 detects carpets and automatically increases suction, it doesn't avoid them in wet cleaning mode. Water flow also doesn't stop when it enters carpeted floors. This is worth keeping in mind.
Passability
The robot can easily navigate 2 cm high thresholds with the cleaning cloth installed. That's a plus.
Driving on black surfaces
And what's great is that this robot vacuum cleaner isn't afraid of black carpets, moving across them effortlessly. That's a plus.
Noise level
As for the noise level, it ranges from 60 to 72 dB, depending on the selected mode. This is quite standard, especially considering the increased power.
Let's sum it up
The Dreame Trouver M1 robot vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our evaluation system he managed to gain 109 points, beating its predecessor Dreame F9 by 1 point, the price of which also starts at $170.
Overall rating of tested robot vacuum cleaners: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.
I'll highlight the pros and cons I've discovered, and then share my own opinion about the robot.
I liked the following:
- The low height of the body allows it to enter places where 10 cm robots cannot go.
- Good navigation.
- Increased suction power.
- The robot is capable of vacuuming and mopping the floor at the same time.
- High-quality dry and wet cleaning on hard surfaces.
- A large number of functions in the application.
- Yandex.Alice support.
- Good cross-country ability.
- The robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of black surfaces.
- Availability of warranty and service.
As for the comments, they are as follows:
- The robot is not capable of thoroughly cleaning medium pile carpets.
- Small dust collector capacity.
- Weak battery.
- Simplified design: no wall or carpet sensors, non-detachable brush, fewer fall protection sensors.
The last two comments are, of course, related to the robot's price, so they're generally obvious and not critical. However, it's worth keeping in mind that the robot isn't very good at cleaning fluffy carpets, and the dust bin will need to be emptied after each cleaning.
Overall, for the price, this device is quite attractive and can be considered a worthy alternative to the mega-popular Dreame F9. While its functionality and cleaning performance are virtually identical, the Dreame Trouver M1 cleans faster and boasts the ability to store multiple maps in its memory.
Therefore, if you're budgeting $200, I'd recommend taking a closer look at this device, especially for cleaning primarily hard surfaces. On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
