Dreame Trouver S10: A TOP-Rated Robot Vacuum Cleaner Without a Dock for a Reasonable Price

This review examines an interesting robot vacuum cleaner called the Dreame Trouver S10. It features a vibrating cloth that lifts when it enters carpets. The robot vacuum itself rotates along the baseboards when cleaning. It can carefully navigate around objects on the floor thanks to a sensor system on the bumper. It boasts high suction power, reaching 7000 Pa. It collects debris with a silicone turbo brush, making it easier to clean hair and pet hair. This brush also lifts in wet cleaning mode. For such a complete package, you'll have to pay between $270 and $330 at the time of writing, which is quite reasonable. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Dreame Trouver S10, highlight its pros and cons, and then share my thoughts on the robot. Let's get started!
Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner arrived in a branded box like this:
The package includes a charging base with a power adapter and an instruction manual. The holder and cleaning cloth are already attached to the robot out of the box.
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the Dreame Trouver S10's design. It's round and comes in white. The case is 97 mm tall.
A wall sensor is mounted on the right bumper. A floor-mounted object detection system is located in the center. There is no active home surveillance camera.
Navigation is handled by a lidar with a spring-loaded cover. Three control buttons are located next to it.
The dust container and water tank are located under the top cover. The dust container capacity is 470 ml. The filtration system consists of a mesh filter and a HEPA filter.
The water tank holds 300 ml. Liquid is supplied to the wipes via a pump. The water level is electronically adjustable.
The robot has four anti-fall sensors mounted on the bottom. A carpet detection sensor is located next to the swivel roller. There's a single, three-beam, quick-release side brush.
The central brush unit is floating. This is a plus. The brush itself is silicone and can be removed on both sides to remove tangled hair and pet hair. As mentioned earlier, the turbo brush can even be raised during wet cleaning.
A platform with a cleaning cloth is located behind the brush. The holder is non-removable. The platform vibrates at a frequency of 3,500 times per minute. The platform with the cleaning cloth also rises 7 mm when entering carpets.
Overall, the robot's design differs from its counterparts in the Dreame line, although many components are identical. In summary, I'll highlight the pros and cons of the design.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Dreame Trouver S10, as stated by the manufacturer, are displayed on the screen:
- Li-Ion battery 5200 mAh.
- Suction power up to 7000 Pa.

Of the specifications, it's important to check only the claimed high suction power, which will be verified in tests. Otherwise, they are on par with other similar models.

Testing
A detailed video review of the Dreame Trouver S10, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Navigation
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, we'll test the Dreame Trouver S10's navigation in a room with obstacles. The robot vacuum first moves around the perimeter of the room, then cleans the entire accessible area in a serpentine pattern. The dryer's legs presented no problems. It also swept around the box and chair legs separately, then returned to the station. The test was successful.
Speaking of navigation within the home, the robot vacuum similarly moves room by room along the perimeter, then in a serpentine pattern. There are no uncleaned areas left, and the cleaning speed is high, so this model has excellent navigation!
Passing under low furniture
I also checked whether the robot vacuum cleaner can pass under 10 cm of furniture. Yes, there are no problems with that.
Identifying objects on the floor
This robot's object detection is predictably weak. It managed to accurately navigate around a bathroom scale, a sneaker, and a toy, but it also misaligned its toe, drove over a dummy pet, and chewed a wire, causing an error. So, the object detection system definitely needs some improvement.
Suction power
The suction power is excellent. In "Quiet" mode, the robot managed to vacuum up debris from a 2 mm gap and partially from a 4 mm gap. In Standard mode, the results were unchanged. In Intensive mode, the robot cleaned up a 4 mm gap better and partially reached the 6 mm mark. And in "Turbo" mode, the robot cleaned up a 6 mm gap better and even partially cleaned 8 and 10 mm gaps. So, this is truly a powerful robot vacuum!
Dry cleaning
The cleaning performance on laminate floors was impressive – almost all debris was removed, with the exception of small remnants in corners that are difficult for round robots to reach. The central brush did not pick up any pet hair, a distinct advantage of silicone brushes. All debris was collected in the dust bin.
Carpet cleaning
But the silicone turbo brush also has its weaknesses. It cleans carpets less effectively, even with high suction power. The robot makes quick work of low-pile carpets, but on medium-pile carpets, debris may remain that the robot doesn't pick up on the first or second pass. This is important to consider. Nevertheless, for home use, I consider the carpet cleaning quality good!
Wet cleaning and carpets
When wet cleaning on carpeted floors, you can choose between two robot behaviors. The first is to automatically lift the cleaning cloth when entering carpets, allowing the robot to simultaneously vacuum and mop, leaving the carpets dry and clean. The second option is to enable automatic carpet avoidance in wet cleaning mode. This is especially useful for high- and medium-pile carpets, preventing the cleaning cloth from coming into contact with the carpet if necessary.
Wet cleaning
I liked the quality of the cleaning. The cloth presses well to the floor and absorbs dirt.
When it comes to removing tough stains, the robot was able to remove even dried-on coffee and sauce stains. Granted, it took a while. Still, many similar robots can't even do that.
The baseboard doesn't have a blind spot as such, as it rotates at the back as it goes around the perimeter. There are small gaps between these rotations, but they're minimal.
Obstacle clearance
The robot vacuum cleaner can easily move over 2 cm high thresholds, which is a plus.
Driving on black surfaces
It's also not afraid of black surfaces, easily driving on completely black carpet. This is another advantage of the robot!
Noise level
As for the noise level, it ranges from 56 to 68.6 dB. The noise level is quite standard for this model, considering its high suction power.
Personal opinion
The Dreame Trouver S10 robot vacuum cleaner has been thoroughly tested. According to our rating system, it scored 154 points, which is one of the best results for robotic vacuum cleaners without a station, i.e. with a regular charging base.
Overall rating of tested robot vacuum cleaners: https://robovac.washerhouse.com/en/rejtingi/robovac-obshhij-rejting-robotov-pylesosov-robo.html.
I'll highlight the pros and cons, and then share my own opinion about the robot.
I liked the following:
- In reality, the suction power is very high.
- Automatic lifting of the cloth when driving onto carpets.
- High-quality dry and wet cleaning on hard surfaces.
- The vibrating platform with a cloth scrubs the floor well and is capable of removing even the most difficult stains.
- The mode of scrolling the rear part of the case along the baseboard.
- A floor detection system. Although primitive, the robot cleans more accurately than its counterparts without a camera or sensors on the front bumper.
- The silicone brush is easier to clean from hair and fur.
- Complete Russification.
- A large number of functions for flexible adjustment of cleaning parameters.
- Good cross-country ability.
- The robot vacuum cleaner is not afraid of black floor coverings.
- Availability of warranty and service.
The only drawback I'd highlight is that the object detection system needs some improvement. And the standard complaint about most round robots is that it doesn't sweep up corners. There's also a slight vibration noise from the cleaning cloth, but it's not too loud and is justified by the robot's superior floor cleaning performance compared to most similar robots.
So, as a result, I definitely recommend Dreame Trouver S10 for purchase, as one of The best robot vacuum cleaners without a self-cleaning stationIn fact, he took a high position in this rating.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
