Deerma DEM-T30W Station: Upright vacuum cleaner with self-cleaning station

This review examines the Deerma DEM-T30W Station cordless upright vacuum cleaner. Priced between $250 and $350, this unit boasts a self-cleaning dust bin, a set of additional attachments for spot cleaning, a cleaning zone light, and suction power reaching 23,000 Pa. At first glance, this seems like a pretty impressive package for the price. Below, I'll thoroughly test the Deerma DEM-T30W Station, highlight its pros and cons based on my test results, and then share my opinion. I'd appreciate a subscription and a like after watching the video. So, let's get started!
Equipment
Let's start with the package contents. The vacuum cleaner arrived in this branded box:
The package includes:
- Self-cleaning station.
- The main unit of the vacuum cleaner.
- Extension tube.
- Floor nozzle with fluffy roller.
- Nozzle with turbo brush for cleaning upholstered furniture and mattresses.
- Crevice nozzle.
- Flexible connecting hose.
- Soft bristle attachment.
- Attachment with sliding bristles.
- Operating instructions.
- Two spare HEPA filters.
- Spare bag for the station.
The only thing I'm missing from the accessories is an extra floor nozzle with a carpet roller. Otherwise, all the necessary accessories and even consumables are included. Let's move on!
Appearance
Now let's take a look at the design of the Deerma DEM-T30W Station. Let's start with the vacuum cleaner itself, or more precisely, the main unit.
It's graphite-colored, with a round black insert on the edge, which, unfortunately, isn't a display. This model doesn't have a display.
On the top are two mechanical control buttons: power on/off and maximum suction power. There are only two operating modes: the standard default mode and maximum suction power. Next to the buttons is a status indicator light.
The dust container is emptied by pulling a lever on the side. The lid opens and debris falls out.
The flask can be detached from the main unit if needed. It houses a filtration system consisting of a HEPA filter, foam, cyclone, and mesh. Incidentally, the battery in this model is not removable, which is also important to consider.
Let's look at the attachments included in the kit:
The main floor nozzle features a fluffy roller suitable for cleaning hard surfaces. The roller is easily removed without tools. The design is familiar.
There is a side light for the cleaning area, which is a plus.
The upholstery cleaning attachment has an interesting design. The roller is slightly shortened, presumably to help remove tangled hair. The silicone paddles easily remove debris without tangling. This attachment also disassembles easily without any tools.
The crevice tool is a familiar design, as is the soft-bristled nozzle. What I found unusual, however, was the nozzle with retractable bristles. Apparently, this is how tangled fur and hair are shed. I think it could also find a use in the home. The corrugated hose is convenient for getting into hard-to-reach places with the attached nozzle, rather than the entire vacuum cleaner.
Speaking of the station, I personally wasn't too keen on the easily soiled glossy finish. It's an acquired taste, so to speak. The design itself is familiar. Self-cleaning is activated manually by pressing a button on the top. A 1.8-liter bag is hidden behind the lid. It's a standard design. A fabric filter is installed under the bag, but what I liked was the HEPA blower filter built into the bottom of the station. Allergy sufferers will appreciate this! Not all stations boast such a filtration system.
So far, I can say that the vacuum cleaner has both advantages and disadvantages regarding its design. All of these will be discussed in the final review.
Technical specifications
The main characteristics of the Deerma DEM-T30W Station, as stated by the manufacturer:
- The power consumption of the vacuum cleaner is 240 W.
- Suction power up to 23 kPa.
- The station's power consumption is 1000 W.
- Li-Ion battery 2500 mAh.
- Dust collector 560 ml.
- Bag in the station: 1.8 l.
- Operating time up to 45 min.
- The noise level of the vacuum cleaner is 72-73.6 dB.
- The station noise level is 82-83.5 dB.
- Weight when fully assembled: 2.46 kg.
I'd like to point out that the noise levels of both the vacuum cleaner and the station were personally tested. The vacuum cleaner's noise level is between 72 and 73.6 dB, making it quieter than most similar models. The station's noise level during self-cleaning is between 82 and 83.5 dB, which is fairly standard.
Regarding the vacuum's weight, the main unit weighs 1,482 grams, the extension tube weighs 252 grams, and the main floor nozzle weighs 724 grams. The fully assembled vacuum weighs 2,458 grams. It's lighter than most similar vacuums, which will be a significant advantage for many.
Testing
A detailed video review of the Deerma DEM-T30W Station, including all tests, has already been prepared and published on the channel:
Opening hours
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First, let's check the battery life of the Deerma DEM-T30W Station in Turbo mode with the main floor nozzle attached. It managed to run for 12 minutes and 44 seconds, which is quite standard for cordless upright vacuums.
Suction power
Regarding power, the vacuum cleaner managed to thoroughly clean 15 and 20 mm deep crevices at the minimum setting and partially cleaned 25 and 30 mm deep crevices. It failed to reach the 35 mm mark. However, at the maximum 35 mm setting, the crevice was partially cleaned, so overall, the vacuum cleaner's power is above average and sufficient for household cleaning.
Collecting debris on laminate flooring
Now let's test how well the Deerma DEM-T30W Station picks up floor debris. I scattered various types of debris on the laminate flooring: hair, fur, grains, and other small household debris. This machine handled the task well. It's important to note that it has no trouble picking up debris along baseboards and in corners. It picks everything up thoroughly. No hair or lint gets caught in the roller. Test passed!
Carpet cleaning
The same debris was scattered on a low-pile carpet, and even with the hard-floor roller attachment, the vacuum cleaner was able to clean the carpet thoroughly, leaving no debris behind. However, on medium-pile carpets, the roller attachment is not as effective. While it can still pick up debris on the surface, it doesn't remove embedded particles from within the pile. This is important to consider.
But here's a life hack! The Deerma DEM-T30W Station uses the carpet roller attachment from the older T50 model. You can purchase it and use it if needed.
Additional attachments
Using the included attachments, you can clean sofa upholstery, mattresses, shelves, and other furniture, as well as interior items and even car interiors. Fortunately, the range of attachments makes this possible.
Self-cleaning
Finally, I'll show you how the station's self-cleaning dust bin function works. Place the vacuum cleaner in its slot and press the self-cleaning button. The dust is removed from the bin and placed into the station's bag. The bin is completely clean after self-cleaning; I've checked it several times.
However, if the dust bin is completely clogged with hair, the station will not be able to clean it thoroughly. Again, several attempts were made during testing. In this case, it is possible to manually remove the dust bin from the vacuum cleaner, remove the filtration system, and empty the contents.
Personal opinion
The Deerma DEM-T30W Station cordless self-cleaning vacuum cleaner was thoroughly reviewed and tested. I'll highlight the pros and cons I found, and then express my own opinion. I liked the following:
- Self-cleaning function at the station.
- The station is equipped with a HEPA filter.
- Increased suction power.
- High-quality waste collection on hard surfaces and low-pile carpets.
- Removable dust collector.
- Illumination of the cleaning area.
- The kit includes additional attachments and consumables.
- The vacuum cleaner operates quieter than most of its analogues.
- The fully assembled weight is less than that of similar products.
- Availability of warranty and service.
- Optimal price, considering the presence of the station.
Speaking of comments, here are some that were discovered during testing:
- Non-removable battery.
- There is no display.
- There is no roller attachment for cleaning carpets.
- There is no vertical parking outside the station.
- When the dust container is completely clogged, self-cleaning becomes less effective.
- The station's glossy finish is easily soiled.
- The device is not designed for one-handed operation. You need to use your other hand to reach the buttons.
- There is no storage space for the included attachments at the station.
Overall, the first three comments are most likely related to the vacuum's budget price. The lack of vertical parking is a drawback of most similar models, but self-cleaning issues are a specific feature. I'd only recommend not overfilling the container during cleaning. This likely won't happen in a typical home environment. In this case, the station will be able to effectively self-clean the vacuum.
To sum it up, I can say that if you are looking for an inexpensive self-cleaning upright vacuum cleaner and don't have medium-pile carpets on your floor, it makes sense to consider this model.
On that note, I'd like to end this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy shopping, everyone. Bye!
