The iCLEBO G5 robot vacuum cleaner (YCR-M09-20W) is the entry-level version in the line, and one might even say the most affordable. The price at the time of writing is $230, while the flagship iCLEBO O5 Wi-Fi The price is around $430. The price was kept low by using a gyroscope for navigation rather than a camera. However, this is the first robot in the iClebo line that's suitable for full-fledged wet cleaning, as it features a combined water and dust tank. Below, we'll explore what makes this new product special, how it cleans, and most importantly, whether it's worth the money. So, let's get started!

Equipment

First, let's take a look at what's included with the iCLEBO G5. It comes in a box like this:

Overall, there are no complaints about the design or construction. The build is slightly different from the flagship iCLEBO O5 Wi-Fi, but for its price range, the entry-level version is well-built.

Functional capabilities

It's much more interesting to explore the capabilities of the iCLEBO G5. All the main functionality is available in the app, which you need to download and install on your smartphone. The app is in Russian, so connection shouldn't be a problem.

First, let's take a look at the settings section. Here you can update the software, turn voice notifications on and off, change the robot's name, and view its cleaning history and error log. Incidentally, the robot speaks Russian.

Application functionsApplication functions

Application functions

The main functionality is located on the main control panel. You can start automatic cleaning mode, force the robot to return to the charging base, and set up a cleaning schedule. Incidentally, it's very convenient that you can select the time, day of the week, cleaning mode, and even suction power and water flow rate in the settings. There's also a robot search function by sound and manual control. In this section, you can manually direct the robot to the desired cleaning location, select the appropriate cleaning mode, and adjust the suction power and wetness of the cleaning cloth. Both have three settings. The robot creates a map of the room on the main control panel while it's working, but doesn't save it in memory. I'll show you how this is implemented later.

The iCLEBO G5 is also controlled via a remote control. You can use it to set up a cleaning schedule, force the robot vacuum to return to its base, start automatic cleaning mode, manually control its movement, select one of four cleaning modes, adjust the suction power, and water flow rate.

These are all the features of the iCLEBO G5. It has all the necessary functions for a robot vacuum cleaner with a gyroscope, and there are no complaints.

Testing

We recommend watching a video version with visual testing of the robot:

Navigation

Let's move on to the main part of the review—the detailed tests. First, let's test the iCLEBO G5's navigation in a room with obstacles.

Navigating within a roomNavigating within a room

Navigating within a room

First, the robot vacuum cleaner swirls around the entire accessible area, then moves around the perimeter and returns to the base. There were some unintelligible movements, but the robot nevertheless cleaned the entire accessible area, swept around several chair legs and a box. It didn't get stuck on the dryer, so the navigation test in challenging conditions was successfully completed.

Now let's look at how the iCLEBO G5 handles the entire home. In our case, that's five rooms, with a total cleaning area of approximately 34 square meters.

Home navigationHome navigation

Home navigation

The robot sweeps the entire area in a serpentine pattern, leaving no uncleaned areas. However, during the final perimeter pass, the map gets slightly distorted and redraws, but this doesn't affect the cleaning quality. Cleaning speed is also good—it cleaned 33 square meters in 41 minutes.

There are no complaints about navigation.

Suction power

Now let's test the iCLEBO G5's suction power on a dedicated stand.

Suction powerSuction power

Suction power

As you can see, it can only vacuum up to 2 mm deep. The flagship iCLEBO O5 is much more powerful in this regard, but even from a 2 mm gap, not all robots can vacuum up as well. So, the result is quite acceptable.

Dry cleaning of laminate flooring

The next test will show how well it removes everyday debris from laminate flooring. This includes hair, fur, grains, and ground coffee, which simulate dust in corners.

Dry cleaning of laminate flooringDry cleaning of laminate flooring

Dry cleaning of laminate flooring

The cleaning performance is very high. Despite its round shape, the iCLEBO G5 cleaned corners effectively. Very little debris was left behind, but compared to other robots, this model has the best dry cleaning performance on the test bench. After the test, we saw hair tangled around the central and side brushes, and the remaining debris was collected in the dust bin.

Cleaning the carpet

We scattered the same debris on the carpet. Because the carpet has a dark pattern, the robot avoids dark stripes, recognizing them by differences in height, so some debris remains. However, in the areas where it did pass, it picked up almost all the debris. However, even in these areas, the carpet wasn't perfectly cleaned, so cleaning performance on the carpet is average.

Wet cleaning

Let's see how well the iCLEBO G5 handles tough stains. This robot vacuum is capable of cleaning even dried-on dirt from laminate flooring, but it leaves some streaks on the floor and doesn't quite reach the baseboards. Regardless, its wet cleaning performance is above average.

Wet cleaningWet cleaning

Wet cleaning

If you're using the iCLEBO G5 for general housekeeping and gentle damp mopping, it's perfectly up to the task. Even at maximum water flow, it doesn't flood the floor, so the cleaning cloth is moderately wet, and the tank is sufficient for a full cleaning cycle.

Obstacle clearance

As for crossing thresholds, this robot can easily navigate obstacles 10 and 15 mm high, but it can't handle a 20 mm threshold. However, the manufacturer claims it can handle obstacles up to 15 mm.

Dark spots

The iCLEBO G5 detects dark floor coverings as height differences, so the robot vacuum cleaner has problems with this and it is important to take this into account.

Noise level

Finally, we measured the iCLEBO G5's noise level in different modes. At minimum power, the noise level is around 62 dB, in medium mode it reaches 65.5 dB, and in maximum mode it reaches 67 dB. This is a standard noise level for robot vacuum cleaners. I cannot confirm the manufacturer's claimed 55 dB.

Let's sum it up

The iCLEBO G5 has been thoroughly reviewed and tested. our grading system he was able to dial 51 out of 100 pointsAnd for a robot vacuum cleaner with a gyroscope, this is the best result so far. It truly left a mostly positive impression after testing.

I'd like to highlight the robot's comprehensive package, high-quality dry cleaning on hard surfaces, and full wet cleaning functionality, allowing it to vacuum and mop simultaneously. I also appreciate the user-friendly app and the warranty and service support from a trusted brand.

The only thing that might make you question its purchase is the price. For this price, the robot unfortunately doesn't come with advanced camera- or lidar-based navigation like its Chinese counterparts. Otherwise, I have no complaints about this robot. If you're looking for a model for a small space, but wet cleaning and brand reliability are important, then you might want to consider the iCLEBO G5. I couldn't find any compelling reasons not to recommend it.

I hope you enjoyed this review. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments below. Happy shopping, everyone!

I have an iClebo G5 and highly recommend it. I was surprised by how well it cleans the floor. It has adjustable wetting, and at maximum, it leaves a nice wet mark. I use it for wet cleaning after dry cleaning. It comes out just as clean as hand cleaning. I also like how quiet it is, much quieter than a regular vacuum cleaner. It's practically inaudible behind a closed door.

Awesome vacuum cleaner. I don't even wash the floor anymore. My Fedor vacuum cleaner does it.
It collects dust microscopically. I didn't think it was that good. Well done. It's worth the money spent.
